@redhotchili
You pretty much combined exclusives of every platform against the PC.
However this is how it goes for console exclusives:
Shooter, shooter, third person shooter, shooter, shooter, Third person shooter, Racing, Shooter.
With PC this is how it goes:
Shooter, MMO, RTS, Simulation.
Hence i feel most console exclusives are mostly about milking the same generes over and over. PC you ge...
Well Each platform has its advantages:
PC advantages:
Superior graphics
Insane backward compatibility (almost any game from the last 20 odd years or even more, this includes consoles, arcade etc),
Cheaper to game on since every game bought on it is cheaper,
Mods,
Open platform no body tells you what you can and cannot do (IE MS doesnt want people using thrid party hard drives if you do you get banned, Sony removed Other OS, Hen...
@Abillzel1
So you are fine paying for games you already own again?
What happens when PS4 launches, if it doesnt have BC will you buy remakes from the PS2 again? and perhaps even PS3 game remakes?
You'd have to be a real glutton for punishment if you are going to be paying for the same games again and again, i thought they said console gaming was supposed to be cost effective, doesnt look like it.
I thought upgrade is when you get an improvement over the previous model.
When i upgrade a CPU or a GPU on my PC i expect better performance, while retaining all the previous features, hell i would rather expect to gain features(DX11 etc)
With the new PS3, you dont gain any improvement in performance, rather you lose out on features you previously had.
Hence i wouldnt call this a upgrade, Its rather a downgraded replacement.
@gravelord
PC did have Halo and Gears, honestly PC gamers thought both games sucked. Shooters are a dime a dozen mate, no one cares.
The only games you console boys seem to want to hype are exclusives, as if they are the second coming. Seriously you boys need to get over it. Some of the Xbox exclusives are so crappy i would hope they never make it to the PC, it just degrades the standard of gaming.
A recent example being Fable 3, I bought it ...
Well just dont take the patch if its so bad.
@below
Cant you just go back a patch on console? sorry i dont own one.
@Ocelot
Well i have a free virtual drive linked to my PC too, has about 2gigs of memory. I could configure the PC to save all my game saves onto that drive, so i can access those files from any PC. Seriously people only want to satify themselves that what they are paying for is actually value, when realy the same thing can be had for free.
Umm Cloud saves arent that great, they are free on Steam. I sure as hell wouldnt pay for that feature.
I personally have a autoback up setting on my PC, backs up all my save files without me even knowning. I got save files back up from years ago, i dont even know if i will ever use em.
Yes but what about the software? hardware is pointless without software vice versa. No point for all that powerful hardware if software is going to be designed with half a decade old tech in mind.
The original Risen was a good game. Specially after the high res texture mods it looked even better, cant wait for the next one.
Well yes Uncharted might be optimized for a single console however look at what it has to offer. Its a extremely linear game with no destructable environments, MP which has about 5 vs 5 (compared to BF's 12 vs 12 on console).
I think only a fanboy would be comparing the 2 games then saying Dice doesnt know how to optimize. When ND or any Sony first party dev releases a open world game and it actually looks better than BF3 then you can start judging Dice.
Imo AMD and Nvidia shot themselves in the foot when they supported consoles.
Due to games now being designed with the lowest denominator(consoles) games are now designed with old hardware in mind(console tech is about 6 years old). Which means most games released today run at 1080p 60fps on 3-4year old PC hardware. Which basically means PC gamers dont need upgrades, unless they want to be gaming on multiple screens with 3D.
Previously when games were desi...
Or it could be Wii gamers have higher standards lol :P they dont buy rehashed crap lol.
This is amazing, now more developers should try copying the foumula since its clearly what the masses want lol.
Its funny how many devs have tried to replicate the COD formula in 2011 and failed rofl.
From the rumors it doesnt look like the next consoles will be a huge jump in terms of power. Hence yea we only may be getting a jump from 720p 30fps to 1080p 60fps, Which is what PC already does.
Depends on the Lag online is possible on Console or PC. There are many games out these days that dont really deserve the 40-60usd price tag(depending on the platform you play on), many of those are SP experiences, if Onlive can provide those cheaply it might worth a try.
Your PC must be very old to not be able to run this on high or it must come with an integrated gpu which really isnt ment for gaming.
So why take the patch then? just diable the updates problem solved.
We know the PS3 version has Mouse Keyboard support, However be honest here most PS3 users will prefer to play the game with a DS3 from the couch. You wont find them taking their PS3s to a desk so they can play it with Mouse and Keyboard, Its just not going to happen in most cases.
Hence if most PS3 users are going to be playing with controller, it would be better if they didnt cross game, unless they actually are willing to play it with Mouse/KB.
And lol...
Lol no they wont, they will be console ports, most of them even today run fine on a 8800GTX which is near 5 years old now(much better then console anyways).
No point buying a 7970 if you already own something from the 6000series or even a high end 5000 series since those pretty much max out whatever is available today even from the PC centric games. 4000series pretty much maxes out console ports.
