even if microsoft or sony went for a 4870 equivilant gpu.
which is pretty much obselte in the pc industry... its 3x as powerful as a ps3 or xbox.
if the next gen console is coming out by 2012..
i would expect the gpus in them to be about 1 gen behind what ever the pc has at that time.
i would think the power lvl of 5870 crossfire.. will be pretty standard by that time.. which is alot of power.. thats about 10x the power of a ps3 of x...
well yea gaming on consoles can be costly.
specially because the price of console games is too high.
pc gaming is cheaper.
nope i am not saying that.
i am specifically talking about mw2.
if consoles had the juice.. then there was no reason for the developers to run it at 600p.
why not bump it to 720p or beyond?
good optimisations might lead a firstparty game to become 1080p.. though those are far and few in between. lets take the ps3 as an example, there are about 300games out on the ps3 now.. about only 20 of them do 1080p. thats less then 10%
...
its still 600p on consoles.
if consoles had more juice.. its not hard ressing it upto 720p or even 1080p for that matter.
it just shows console limitations.. and why we are not seeing better graphics.
this game just looks like mw1.
lol at the fanboys disagreeing.. if consoles still have a lot more left in them... then why not render the game at 720p, why fall back to sub hd?
anyone with a bit of logic will have the an...
@4show
forget comparing it to anything else.
compare it to MW1... which is a 2yr old game now.
unless you arent blind.. you wont see much of a difference.
where is the progress activision? we are paying 60usd for this... i want to see progress. why charge so much just for new maps?
yep agreed.. consoles have a ease of use thats a given. though that can be debatable... if the pc user knows what he is doing.. then pc might be more easy to use.. i got steam installed on my pc.. i just gotta point and click.. i havent faced a problem with any game i got over steam till date.. everything gets patched automatically.. it becomes more convienient for me to use.. cause all the games are on the HD.. i dont need to keep swapping disks to play the game i want.
howeve...
console gaming being cheaper is a myth.
pc gaming is cheaper then playing on a console.
this is due to the high price of games on the console.
well if you are using a 32bit version of XP.. then you are limited to 3.5gb of ram.. this also accounts the ram on your gpu.. so if you got a monster rig.. that will be a limitation.
xp obviously doesnt have dx 10 or dx 11 support.. most games are still stuck in dx9.. so does it really matter? i really dont know
now assuming you are running XP 64, then really the only thing you are gaining is dx 10 and dx 11.. its something you will need to question yourself abou...
what spec pc are you running?
if its anything recent.
like a dual core 2.4ghz +
then go for it.
ps make sure you got 4gb ram atleast.. even if it calls for an upgrade.. its very cheap these days.
@mal_tez82
a 4650 will easily outperform a ps3.. there is no contest.. as long as the 4650 is run at 1280*1024, which is still something the ps3 can only dream of acheiving for most games anyways.
Edit the 4650 isnt ment for to play at full hd(1920*1200) if thats what you are trying to do with it, niether can a ps3 do that. for that i recommend atleast a 4890 which costs 170usd now.. again like i said do some research before you go out and spend.. the gpu is the ...
@mal_tez92
could you tell me what components did you get for twice the price of the ps3? you just got robbed... should demand a refund for such low performing parts... maybe do a lil research next time you are out to buy parts.
i could hook you up with a rig @ twice the price of the ps3.. around 650usd.
it will outperform ps3 by atleast 500%
http://www....
if you can get it for a bargain its allright.. specially if you have xp.
however its a waste of money for a vista user. specially one with a recent pc.
i am sure pc gamers wont bend over for it.. unlike the console crowd :)
go on tell me another title aside cod mw2 at 59usd :).. thats right none :P
nice try though.. fail.
dam are those prices on pc games in the uk?
those look darn cheap..
they wont benefit too much from win7 thats for sure.
save your money get those games ;-)though if you still have XP then i would recommend upgrade if you can get a cheap deal.
for vista users it probably wont make much of a difference.
royalty or tax.. still doesnt change the fact that gaming overtime on a console is expensive compared to pc.
pc ftw ;-)
well consoles have become dumped down pcs this gen...
if things crash on a console.. you cant really do anything until micro or sony get it fixed.
on the pc on the other hand there more likly is a fix. this is because companies can get patches out faster on the pc they dont have to wait for microsofts or sonys approval.
get it on steam
4 pack = 33usd per game ;-)
cant beat that deal.
i got my pc connected to my hdtv.. its awesome ;-)
btw i got it @ 33usd with ma friends ;-) best deal every from steam.
@realgambler
what you say is completely untrue.. i wonder if you even are a pcgamer.
i built a pc when the ps3 came out.
following were the specs:
2.4ghz intel dual core cpu
2gb ram
8800 gtx gpu
this setup cost me 800usd when the ps3 cost 600usd.
this older computer still plays all the games better then a ps3 ever can and it plays all the games at true 1080.
if anyone would h...
