i could have waited a year for my ps4. 2015 will be great, but until then i'm fairly underwhelmed. Infamous was good (not outstanding), a few remasters of games i've already played (bought them anyway for a lack of anything else). killzone... meh. need for speed... meh. COD.. meh. some clever or fun indie games but i had plenty of that on the ps3 and most of them on the ps4 could easily be done on the ps3.

most of sony's available ps4 games are indies. thats a fact. the x1 has a lot of big games coming out for 2014... sunset overdrive for example, but yes.. MCC is a remaster as well... and i personally am sick of them.

the lying thing about resolution along with the lawsuit are stupid to me as they explain even on their website about multiplayer resolution. its also a testament about how the media has turned a stupid thing like resolution into a huge deal that will event...

you don't find the lack of features or the rate at which they are updating to be even slightly disappointing? Not to mention the lack of variety true next gen titles?

i love my ps4 (and my xbox) but I'm also getting bored with it and the fact that it is still missing basic functionality to make it useful while we sit through this lull of new titles. the xbox is getting the features part down, but also suffers from a lack of truly compelling content.

im only slightly disappointed in both consoles. the game libraries on both are ok but lacking. understandable considering they aren't that old, but frustrating when you consider most of the "true next gen" games are getting pushed to 2015. You're left with games running on older engines with simply better textures and geometry OR you get "remastered" versions which are almost the same thing except you've already played the game before.

You have to take into consideration how the hardware is architected. The new consoles have more multitasking capability etc, bigger OS footprints etc which means that apps running in the bg still take ram even if in a suspended state, the OS is taking more memory for the added functionality and more bg processes and the chunks of memory for actual execution of all these things is bigger. They'll optimize of course but with all new, stuff, the memory's physical capacity isn't scali...

They should also research writing/grammar/punctuation classes. I felt I was reading something written by a 6th grader.

i love how the author has to qualify the piece by stating they are a devoted sony follower, knowing full well its just pre-emptive damage control from all the lunatic fanboys that will rip him/her to shreds for actually being objective to something from sony.

ps now is a great idea, not perfectly executed. i think it will be a must have in.... 3 years - when the technology is good enough to null the speed and quality differences associated with current experiences due to ban...

i think the almighty ps4 could emulate a ps3 game fairly well... i mean the ps3 was odd in its architecture but i think the ps4 could handle it.

i am somewhat off put by the streaming of games as of this point in time personally. i have a 300 mb connection and i still experienced a small degree of lag and the picture quality while good, still felt a little stepped on, a little aliased, a little dull. the load times also seemed gratuitously long on Dirt 3. granted that could be...

try before you buy... thats what demos are for... and free.... ahhh.. remember when there used to be demos for stuff? i miss those days.

renting is fine i suppose. i dunno if I'm onboard with the streaming just yet though. i think the quality is good but its not a 1 to 1 quality replacement. its like playing a compressed netflix video.

if ps now worked like ea access and had actual current, new AAA titles i'd be pretty into it. especially if the ...

depends on how they built it... how big the environments are, the poly counts on models, animation rigs on the models, physics, lighting, map size, texture resolution, rendering effects like ao, caustics, sub-surface scattering etc... can't really say how demanding it is til we know what its outputting and whats been updated.

how about something new, released for the first time in 2014 to run on the xbox one and ps4.

a case for digital downloads?

i get having physical media and the extra little bonus book/toy/whatever but man... digital is so much more convenient.

a bunch of indie games doesn't mean better. it certainly means more. i have both consoles. i love the ps4, but to say it has better games is simply your own opinion. if you are referring to more games with 1080p sure... but its all relative. for me i'm on the x1 more. i have more friends on xbl, xbl has better social functionality/flexibility to me and the ps4 doesn't have any good sim racing game (personal favorite genre) or really actually... many titles i even want to pla...

stupid. so sell your x1, eat a bunch of depreciation and limit your options in available games and features by switching to the other console... or... take all of that depreciation money from hardware and software you would eat and put it towards the other console.

now you have both consoles, more games, more options and fewer reasons to troll.

Ooof. Slim pickings this month for the ps4.

Well.... Yes you do as they arent competing for the same things or even same demographics. So how do you compare the value of apples when you are in the market for oranges. It's like comparing Cinnabon to a grocery store. Cinnabon lets you take as many of their cinnamon rolls as you want every month for a set price but only cinnamon rolls. The grocery store has more than just cinnamon rolls but charges you for every bite of the different types of food you get.... And you have to eat it ...

I don't think they are similar enough to compare. One is first party, downloadable to be locally executed and is billed as a subscription, the other is first and third party games, streamed, and paid by usage. They aren't even similar in any way other than you don't actually own a license.

To me, it seems weird to compare and I feel the only reason we are is because ones on xbox and ones on playstation. That said, ps now has a bigger, more thorough library but a...

hehe i think i just saw and did more in the beta. i had limited time in the alpha and it felt like forever to get going but in the beta it seemed i was in in the action and doing more in a much shorter amount of time with more stuff. maybe its just because i knew what to expect the second time but i definitely had more fun.

4233d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

the beta certainly changed the opinion the alpha left on me which is a positive thing.
