Admittedly I was skeptical and disappointed about the "upgrades" i saw on the web about this and kinda felt it wasn't worth the money. Good but not mind blowing. then my love of naughty dog came thru and i thought - I should buy the remaster regardless just to support such an amazing studio... then i played it.
HOLY SH**. I will eat every word I said about it not being a proper next gen remaster. it is absolutely gorgeous. The hair and facial animations are s...
to the best of my knowledge, EA Access is not a streaming service. It works more like something like Adobe Creative Cloud. You pay a subscription fee and in return you can download all the software to be run locally. When the app is launching it checks the server for your account status before letting the app actually execute.
@vantage: That is actually completely false and there are several articles that explain this to great detail. At least one is on this site. Do a search.
Its true. The culture there is completely different than that of western countries. I don't know if the x1 will do well in China, but I can say that any assumption we make of them based on a westernized taste or familiarity will probably be wrong.
my ps3 and 360 got sent packing when i got an x1 and ps4. different strokes for different folks, right?
Um... i've been to china and i've been to small cities in china (around 17 million people is considered "small to medium") and I see luxury cars, high end hotels, and all the things I see here in los angeles. I'm pretty sure MS wouldn't spend millions of dollars to bring their console to some rural farmers hoping to sell 100 or so.
Last year China's GDP was 9.3% (the US didn't even reach 3%) That far surpsasses most countries in the world. ...
The differences in update frequency between my ps4 and my xb1 are pretty staggering. the xb1 has practically become twice as functional while the ps4 has pretty much mostly received performance updates and is largely unchanged - both in usability and functionality. Im not saying one is better than the other (they both have strengths and weaknesses over each other), but the xb1 is practically a different machine from when i orginally purchased it. i would like to see some functionality adde...
sales don't equal better, it just equals more popular. If a product has more features, functionality, and purpose at a competitive price with minimal negative drawbacks in comparison it can probably be considered "better". It doesn't mean more popular.
I love my ps4, i honestly sincerely do ( i rocked TLOU remastered all night long...BEAUTIFUL) - but my xbox one has pretty much gone through rapid upgrades and functionality in comparison. literally every ...
Agreed
Holy sh**. I eat my words. This game is completely gorgeous. I have been playing the remaster all night and it is in fact a very worthy upgrade from the ps3. It's certainly better with 60 fps because the 30 doesn't include any post processing motion blur and at least on my tv kinda Judders a little bit. The 60 fps is stellar and rock solid.
As of May titanfall had sold 925,000 copies specifically in the US specifically on Xbox one. That doesn't include any other markets like the UK and others where titanfall has remained in the top 10 til this day. It also doesn't take into account digital sales which are on the rise. I think it's safe to say its a good selling game.
I don't buy it. The ps4 sells itself with little effort and sony needs all the money it can get. I realize that margins are much higher on software but sony also needs a strong ROI for development of the hardware etc too
I love how people like you get personally offended because someone else has a different opinion. Seems really immature. Remind me never to go shoe shopping with you ;)
It looks good, but not next gen good. It just looks like a higher res, 60 fps version of the ps3. When I think "next gen" I think caustics, ambient occlusion, hdri lighting, subsurface scattering etc... This doesn't really use any of that. It's a great game sure, but I don't think it's a showcase for the ps4. Games like drive club, ryse, AC unity etc... Those look next gen. Personally I would have waited longer to let them remake TLOU on a proper next gen engine. I...
TLOU is certainly one of the best games made. That said, I'm not really impressed with the ps4 remaster. It's like they literally just took the ps3 version and made it run at 60fps with some tighter textures. Where is all the "next gen" love? Where's the better dynamic lighting, ssao, caustics, subsurface scattering etc?
It's a nice enhancement for sure, I was just expecting.....more. Especially since it's dominated this site for the better par...
Wow. Looks impressive. I'm especially impressed by the animations and transitions between animations. Doesn't have those hard sequence transitions that most games have.
Amen.
Oh get over it. The people that pre-ordered destiny got access to the beta first and for longer. The people that downloaded the beta will most likely buy it anyway as they already have an interest but like me, were on the fence. Therefore everybody spends the same money but those did it sooner got more time to play. Seems like everyone wins.
That said - enjoyed the beta much more than the alpha. I also installed it on both platforms, and it looks great on both. The ps4 beta ...
For all the hype, I was expecting more. I almost feel tomb raider definitive was the more impressive remaster, graphically.
its in the media that sony turned down EA because they thought it wasn't a good value for the platform.
