When I lived in the US (last year), we have three options; Time Warner Cable (10MB-100MB options), Verison DSL (2MB-15MB), and satellite, which we didn't explore. Those are some decent options and with no bandwidth caps, would have easily sufficed assuming we picked something that was at least 10MB down.
We're looking at 2020 when the PS5 *possibly* comes out. Broadband internet is spreading quickly, even in 3rd world countries. Also, this doesn't have to release *everywhere*, at least not initially. North America, Most of Europe, and Japan...same as it is now, and many of the countries within these area's have broadband internet.
I will concede that companies will need to start lifting bandwidth caps, though with the new-sh video codec VP9 (created by Google and ...
With the current sales for PS3 and PSV combined (in Japan), Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster has sold over 407,000 units. And I don't think that includes digital copies (if available).
According to VGChartz.com, in the USA, the PS3 version already has 143,000 pre-orders. No data on the PS Vita version, but even without those numbers, we're looking at roughly 550,000 units sold if pre-orders sell. That's some crazy-good numbers for an HD remaster

For countries that have the infrastructure, I say yes. Something similar to the PS Vita TV (but minus the Vita part), I could easily see a small box device + a controller = PlayStation Now, in the future that is.
Sell it for $99 (think Roku) and you're set.
EDIT: I personally don't think Sony is going to stop making hardware for gaming, at least not yet. I could see the PlayStation 5 (or whatever they call it) as the final system (for awhile) whenever...
Just moved to Canada, hoping to get a job soon. I would really like to pre-order this just to add to the PS Vita numbers, though I think I have enough in EB Games credit to buy this anyway.
I think *any* membership that still requires items to go through the mail will be dwindling down and dying out soon. Now, I'm sure they will continue to make it for now, since physical media is still the main format. But give PlayStation Now a couple of years to get a foothold and I think we'll start seeing their numbers drop.
I got an e-mail a few months back about some sort of beta, but nothing ever happened.
Wait, so the game is being split into two releases/episodes (for lack of a better word)? People who buy now, will they be getting the other half later for free?

The Last of Us.
Also, when is N4G (and other HAVAmedia sites) getting the rumored redesigns? Hoping for a more...modern look and feel soon :)
This is a visually stunning, though somewhat underwhelming game. I wouldn't mind reading the manga to learn more about the story.
The Wii U is barely past 5 million units sold. I definitely don't see the Wii U having sold more then the PS4 or X1. I mean, Sony is set to eclipse total Wii U sales in roughly 8-10 weeks after launch. That's just...sad. And the X1 sales, while slower than the PS4, is still on pace to eclipse the Wii U within a few months.
EDIT: This is clearly fake. There's no way the Wii U sold 4-5 MILLION units during the holiday season. This is some random site trying to get h...
Agreed. "Halo Next" is a terrible name. I would rather them use Halo 5 instead of Next. Or how about Halo: Evolved (instead of "combat evolved" like the first one), or some other name, instead of a number.
Not really. A LOT of wasted space...they basically moved the main menu items to the left and that's about it? I mean, if you're going to do "concept" art, at least make it somewhat original?
I'll stick with the current Steam client looks for now :)
I'm curious to know how much this is costing Sony. Server's aren't cheap, especially considering how many they will need to meet each individual gamer on the service. That said, I would gladly pay an additional fee or subscription on top of PS+ to have this.
Really hoping I can get in on the beta as a PS Vita user.
So if 5MBps is recommended, I assume this would work on lower speeds (2-3 MBps?) I have a 30+ MB connection so nothing to worry about, but it's good to know they targeted a fairly reasonable speed.
I'll gladly trade off *a little* in video quality if it means playing these games ANYWHERE.
Was expecting something bigger as well. Just give us Left 4 Dead 3 already (even though Valve owns that...?)
@Biggest - firstly, thank you for the "disagree'. I KNOW games are coming, I'm simply reminding everyone that hardware alone won't maintain the hype. Sony and other developers will need to start teasing upcoming games (Uncharted? New Mass Effect, Fallout 4?) to maintain hype.
Nothing to really disagree about, but whatevs :D
I think a lot of people subscribed before it was even required. ANYONE could see it was a great value each month, well worth the value.
EDIT: 4.2 million in 2 months is amazing, BUT, we will need to start seeing software. I'm a Sony guy, ever since the PS1 days, but hardware hype will only get them so far.
Thankfully we should start hearing news about rumored games VERY soon, what with E3 about 6 months away?
Some of the "re-arranged" songs sound different, but most of them still sound good (some even sound better). Considering it's been 10+ years since I played this, I'm jumping at the opportunity to play it in HD on the PS Vita.
