I've backed a few projects and completely agree that Kickstarter is a great opportunity. That said, this has easily been the worst KS experience I've had. Thankfully others are seeing just how messed up this project has been run: http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
Correct, it's now at something like 89% :( As someone who JUST moved to Canada, this is very disappointing. Hoping to see the Canadian dollar go back up closer to par, and quickly.
I feel I should get my money back because the creator has handled this very poorly. By locking me out of the forums, the ONLY place to follow progress on the game, he's cut me off completely. Not only that, but before I was banned, I was beginning to feel quite threatened by his tone and comments. He basically said that I have to either give praise, or shut up, hence why he locked the dev diaries.
It's one thing to change things about the project AFTER the campaign cl...
*sigh*
You're right, but at the time of backing, it seemed like a great little game that had a lot of potential. Before it quickly divebombed into this mess, I was a full supporter, creating threads on various forums I frequent and trying to help build interest.
Lesson learned.
I'll be honest, I skimmed your post...it's 6:22 AM :P BUT, i get the points you are making. The problem is, without access to my forum account (and the posts Mike Gale delete), it's hard to show or give proof that I actually was constructive. I mean, I've been 99% on his side up until this week.
I was right there with others providing constructive criticism, hence why we got the Elise character redesigned 2 or 3 times. It wasn't just "one guy" (m...
I'm not so much buying a product, as I am investing in one. And investors have at least *some* rights, though not many. If he had closed up shop and took the $200k and ran, then that would have been a complete loss. But he hasn't (so far...), instead if singled me out, created a new usergroup on the forum for people who only give him praise, and then banned me after I requested a refund.
le sigh :)
As SilentNegortiator posted below...not really. Mike Gale (apparently) refuses to reply to my e-mail or requests on Twitter. Considering my final post (before it was deleted and I was banned) was requesting a refund after he said he was locking down the dev diaries section...I'm not holding my breathe that he'll issue a refund.
At this point, I can only hope he pulls his head out of his ***. Or other media sites pick up on this and run with the story. We'll see.
Completely agree, but thankfully shitty games like that are quickly pointed out by the media and gamers alike.
Not at all. Early Access often enables players to contribute their idea's and feedback to the developer(s), who are then able to ACTUALLY implement and make changes to the game.
I look at "early access" games as "paid beta's. It's kind of the opposite of what we're use to, but I love the idea of getting to try a game early AND help make it better.
Voted. Page took awhile to load both before AND after voting...
Unless Nintendo has a trade-in program for Wii U --> New Console, they will royally piss off their fans (and be a laughing joke in the industry).
And they require a beastly PC to achieve. Not to mention the gameplay looks like shit.
*patiently waits for "disagrees" :D*
But seriously, the game looks amazing, but I haven't heard very good news for the gameplay...
@ShinMaster - I didn't feel the need to list everything off, and I will admit I completely forgot about Uncharted (launch-ish title?), and Gravity Rush. But I don't count multiplatform games like UMvC, Fifa, SFxTk as big games for the system.
And that's an issue the PSV currently has; all it gets are ports, or indie games. And while many indie games are great fun, having spent $300 on my Vita, I really don't want to waste my 5" OLED screen on pixel games....
Yes and no. I agree that a changing market caught Sony off-guard, BUT, the Vita REALLY needs some major titles. Final Fantasy, GTA, Gran Turismo, Battlefeld, (a better) COD, etc. So far, we've gotten Killzone and LBP...
That said, more games like Tearaway are also welcomed with open arms.
Early Access game a great way for developers to start getting funds early, enabling them to either expand the scope of a project, or complete the project if funding is low.
Over the years, we've seen the term "BETA" used VERY loosely, especially with shooters like COD and BF. Early Access is essentially that; a beta (or sometimes alpha), and people need to understand that there are still plenty of bugs and issues that need to be resolved.
BUT, w...
SOCOM 2 HD (and modernized a bit). Though, we have H-Hour in development so...nevermind?
I would really like to see Monster Rancher return as a PS Vita game!
You're absolutely right, this comes off as VERY shady, especially after reading this new info about Matsuno's involvement with the project.
Instead, I'll pre-order FF X|X-2 HD on the PS Vita, pick that up in March, and then patiently wait for Square Enix to announce a Final Fantasy 12 HD remaster ;)
Not pledging until I see proper gameplay. 80% of the pitch video for this campaign was touting Yasumi Matsuno as a major contributor...but he's not.
No, or at least not $10-15 like most are. I *might* consider $5/month, but I much rather prefer the setup Guild Wars 2 (and similar games) has; buy the game, play for free (but you can buy items and expansions still).
GTA V Online hasn't been fun since day one. I definitely regret dropping $80 on the special edition.
