AD's during big soccer/sports games work well as it reaches the desired demographic..but agreed, ads sell anything...ask MS.
I really want games like this to succeed....especially in a market over saturated with FPS's.
It seems there is a horror/thriller revival, and I'm hoping this genre is explored more next gen...
Let's hope the story is mature and the game play is capable.
Yes games will look better next gen. However, it will not be the leap that was PS2>PS3.
I don't believe we will see anything significant with launch titles...just like PS3 launch games looked marginally better than PS2's games toward the end of its cycle.
But then, it's always been this way with launch games post the 2D era...
Onslaught?
..hardly that, but this system needs to survive.
It's less about Nintendo, more so about the Games Industry as a whole.
Don't be irritated by Sleipnir_II...
He is 'The King of Trolls' and 'The Fantastically Fanatical Fan Boy' ...'Poster Child of Patheticism' (Yup made that word up lool)
...he is also known in some regions of the world as 'The Hermit of Hatersville'
We have met his kind before...Recessive Gene Pool
*Yup Ubisoft reneged on the exclusivity deal prematurely...it's disloyalty in its finest fo...
@Sleipnir_II
Your above comments personify the hatred you feel because 'The Last of Us' will never grace your Xbox 360....
It's okay *Hugs* we get it ;)
Dead Space 3 cannot hold a candle to Dead Space 1/2. As an action game, DS3's pretty much like the Resident Evil 6 fiasco....action high, scares low.
I actually enjoyed RE6, but I concede it is far removed from what made the series special.
Dead Space 3 is not a bad game, I'm just surprised EA/Visceral took this direction with the 3rd instalment.
Sadly it is more probable than not...but now is not that time ;/
For the love of gaming please choose retail option, and thanks for asking MS ;)
I was referring more to the psychological than the technical aspect of upgrading e.g. will people be bothered with that, hence millions upgrading their HDD's ZombieNinjaPanda.
My bad....I should have been more clearer :)
Although I would not like this approach, it could work.
Millions of us have upgraded our consoles hard drives, so in theory on that basis...but it seems like a demographic/community splitter, terrible idea.
Trust me on this....
Dead Space 1 & 2 are vastly superior....
I didn't state it would not fail...only that Nintendo will do everything to ensure it does not fail, it's ultimately down to them.
And before it 'fails' Nintendo will market the hell out of it and price cut.
There is a huge demographic out there that want a console with less mature themes/Violence for their Kids, especially with video games in the spotlight promoting violence. I can see Nintendo providing that experience for that group.
Yes more Horror based games please...
I can't wait to get spooked on next gen hardware!!
Okay I'm no fan of Nintendo's direction or the Wii consoles in general...But!
Wii U was only released mere months ago, it is a little early to call its demise, and Nintendo have too much riding on Wii U to allow it to fail...
You can expect price cuts, high volume marketing and a raft of unique software catered to the core Wii U fans in time to come. Nintendo have money, they can make it a success.
Both 360 and PS3 had terrible softwa...
Much of what the article speculates on what will not be announced, it would be true to say all of the 10 reasons are elementary at best.
Obviously....
They will need to retain much of the information for more traditional and bigger events.
But see, at this stage..I don't care what they show...I just need to know the basic spec and some sort of time scale will do me just fine :)
Amazingly, just when the PS3 is really getting fired up and showing its muscle...along comes the next gen.
I am keeping my PS3 because it carries a fondness for me that I never got from Xbox 360.
There will come a time when we'll be saying goodbye to our PS3's (at least as our primary console) and welcoming PS4 into our homes.
To the PS3, thanks for the memories old friend :)
The God of War series on PS3 demonstrates exactly how incredibly powerful the PS3 still is.
I prefer to think not that the PS3 is 7 year old ageing hardware, but instead how 7 year old hardware is still perfectly capable of wowing me.
If it were not for PC's, nobody would believe PS3/360 were (currently) under powered...but then again, if it were not for PC's, these machines would probably not exist.
Swings & Roundabouts.
Seems pretty pointless comparing rumours and speculation....
You will see that each of the platform holders will hold an advantage over each other in one area or another next gen..be that software, services, content or UI's.
I'm strictly a gamer, and media options are a distant second for what I want from a console.
Pointless spec comparisons or not...Sony will once again be my primary platform for gaming next gen, but lets not discount ...
PS Home is a double edged sword IMO...although its a good social tool..it does somewhat distract from AAA games in general, as when I was frequently using home, many people did not play games much.
PS Home makes Sony money (Micro-transactions) so they should not abandon it, but its focus needs shifting...and perhaps it should be streamed via Gaikai in the future, as the constant loading is off putting.
Regarding B/C...something tells me PS4 will not have di...
