Nintendo will always be behind in terms of software support, and here's why.......Besides Nintendo (and a few 3rd parties) Nobody makes money on Nintendo hardware.

Nintendo seem to be profiling the Wii U in a similar way to the Gamecube...like a mix of core/casual. But even the (arguably better than PS2 technically) Gamecube struggled to get third party attention.

Wii U is okay I guess....but there is a reason why I recently purchased a 360 slim as my 2nd console over Wii U *so late in this gen cycle...
Wii U does not appeal to my gaming needs. N4G Nintendo heads can't understand as a mature gamer I don't wanna play cartoons and cutesy games.
Yeh, there's a few mature titles...but nothing over and beyond what can be experienced on much more affordable hardware.

The toughest reviews are on a website named 'Edge'...and when I state 'tough' I mean 'Edge' rarely give 9 and 10 scores.
Edge gave Halo 4 an 8 score...which is like 9.5/10 on most other sites..

Interestingly...looking at that list, 4 out of 5 are cutesy platformers. Seems MS's catalogue was more risky and wider audience orientated in the Xbox days and early 360 years.

I own a PS3 which i'm very happy with....however, I wanted a 2nd console for a while now, but couldn't decide Wii U or 360.
Now the Wii U has arrived and I know more about it, I decided to order Xbox 360 Forza 4 essentials/Skyrim 250GB bundle from Amazon.com for 189GBP and ordered Halo CE Remake, Halo 3 & 4, Half Life 2 - Orange Box, Left4dead 1, 2, Gears of War 3 and Fable 2.
..this entire bundle cost me 270GBP!

I don't believe the Wii U's problem stems from its actual hardware capabilities...although Nintendo should have spent that R&D money on more powerful specs rather than that controller tech.. Wii U could have given the PS3/360 a right kick in...and be better placed to kick off the next gen.

All I constantly read from third parties is that 'We have no plans for a Wii U...

Regards to whether Sony should reveal PS4 info prior to E3...Sony are damned if they do...damned if they don't.
Although some of us aren't quite ready...the industry needs new consoles asap to galvanize itself.
I really don't see game sales affected...remember most new hardware released always suffers a software drought post launch, so PS3 will fill the gap until more games arrive.

You're dang right! I have no interest in Vita or any portable, not just because of touch screen controls either.
A lot of the titles you mention are not actually Nintendo's IP's, they are just publishing.

Conclusion > You get what you pay for/PS3 is cheaper and easier to upgrade HDD.
I like Xbox Live's smooth and fast UI compared to sluggish SEN.
....but to me Live looks childish with those stupid kiddie avatars and all the ads (despite paying gold subs)...not to mention the crazy MS currency system.
If it (Live) was free to play online, then all the above would be moot...but it's a paid for service so why all the ads?
If indeed there is any substance to these rumours...then it will mark a change for Sony releasing 1st and demonstrates Sony are extremely serious about doing things right next gen.
I hope the desired rush to market any of the highly anticipated next gen machines do not result in 'dodgy' hardware (aka 360 launch machines) and there are enough launch 'quality' games to support them.

PS3 can compete with Wii U in the short term...but to suggest PS3 can compete with whatever MS/Xbox release is ludicrous.....
Sony need the PS4 out there same time frame as MS Nextbox...anything more than 6 months or later for Sony and it could be a disaster.
The market has changed since 2005/2006 (obviously) so although Sony have now managed to claw back market share after the PS3's late showing in 2006...the same error should not be repeated in the next...

The Xbox brand sells well in all territories except Japan...so this seems like complete tosh. MS will likely make more money in peoples homes (Xbox) than the office (Windows).
