You're absolutely right, whoever is managing the servers should set a limit on allowed players' latency to avoid lag. It's more a matter of individual people's ping. if I live in Chicago and connect to a European sever, then i'm obviously gonna lag. This article doesn't mention what server they connected to.
The author says there were American and European players in the server. That's what caused the lag, but way to make it seem like the game is laggy in general. These journalists, I tell ya...
Operation metro is ok, I didn't like rush mode in bc2 so i'm having trouble enjoying the bf3 beta atm. the potential is definitely there, however. the graphics and sound quality are amazing, and apart from a few glitches, movement and gun control is spot on. I just need a conquest map like Caspian border to get past the campers that thrive in rush mode.

Yeah the SSD isn't really necessary, your better off using that money towards the gpu. That said, I have a 64gb SSD and I love it! Windows 7, my browsers, and a couple games load insanely fast. If you have the money later on, I recommend one.

I understand that sometimes it's necessary to use the launcher, especially to take out campers and enemies in bunches, that's it's intended purpose. Unfortunately, it can be easily exploited. My problem are those people that use rocket launchers and grenade launchers exclusively to get one hit kills on single infantry and never fire a single bullet. If you make them too strong, those players will come in droves and we will have another case of MW2.
I think he means it's a privilege in the sense that the beta could have been completely closed and/or exclusive to people who bought/pre-ordered MoH and bf3 on origin. The problem is that all these people who are complaining bought neither yet they are the ones who are being critical.
Again, they could have made the beta closed and most of these people wouldn't even get to try out the beta. That said, it's just a freakin' beta!! The full game comes out in a fe...

He is referring to people who buy the new, slightly better iphone year after year at full price. People don't buy a ps3 or 360 every year.
It's only natural. You put years worth of work and effort into something, you want it to be successful.
It would would have been cool to try the map out but it makes sense that they would want to keep the same map as the alpha for comparison.

I had no problems with bad company 2. I was in the beta too and everything went smoothly.
