I own both (in fact all three + PS2) and for the most part of the last 2years I've prioritised my gaming as follows 1) 360, 2) Wii, 3) PS3, 4) PS2.

Now I'm sure people will disagree with me about the Wii but the fact is it has elements of gameplay that the others can't compete with (ie. Wii Sports, Galaxy and Boom Blox), plus every time my family is over that's the console that comes out to play.

In regards to PS3 v 360. For the last two years the 360 has dominated m...

Sonic finally going back to his speed running roots?

I'd be very happy about Stalker and the Witcher. B&W2 with some polish would be great. Crysis I really couldn't care for. And Diablo II should be an arcade download where I can click the A button for 50hrs!

I'd actually love to see Lionhead "dumb down" (read: scrap) large parts of the micromanagement in "The Movies" and bring that to consoles. I'd buy it just for the user generated movies alone. That was a seriously cool tool.

Lets hope the sweet irony in getting GTAIV without bjs is that we get an R18+ rating sooner than expected.

The recent title was Wits & Wagers and the next is Defence Grid: The Awakening. You're right people should listen to the podcast because the title deliberately misleads.

The whole conversation is in the context of graphical, AI and animation limits for 150MB Arcade games on XBLA!

These news sites are trying to get a weeks run out of one night's interview, instead of just publishing them in their entirety in one go! Poor old Shane Kim is quickly looking like the town bicycle riding so many headlines.

Looks refreshingly and blood-ily different!

Particularly the very definite response to no Halo: Chronicles this year (bugger!)... But damn these news sites for just publishing their interviews in one go! Poor old Shane Kim is quickly looking like the town bicycle riding so many headlines.

I was just checking out some of tintin's recent comments after having a really good discussion about Banjo Kazooie and came across this thread.

Scerick that was beautifully answered and I agree completely. Since you're out of bubbles you deserve more. So here you go :)

I guess we're in a stalemate then! lol

I see Banjo as an evolution of platforming as a genre.

You see it simply as an adventure, with some platforming elements.

I'll agree to disagree... until we get a much closer look at it ourselves.

Thanks for such a thoughtful and stimulating discussion, like N4G of old! Bubbles for you my friend. :)

It's really interesting reading your argument and observing the wtf reactions of many as it explains the Banjo conundrum perfectly.

Banjo does not appear to be a traditional platformer, and many seem to think it's not at all, but it actually fits the wiki definition you quoted. The vehicles are merely user created powerups, instead of designer enforced powerups like mushrooms and feathers in Mario. Banjo without a vehicle is just like Mario without a powerup, you can platform lik...

Rare and all the previews have gushed about the potential of the user generated platforming.

Imagine Mario where you invented his powers (vehicles) instead of just picking up a feather and turning into a raccoon or a flower to get fireballs. All Banjo is doing is saying we're not going to decide the powers for you (flying, fireballs, etc) instead we're going to give you the tools (vehicle bits and pieces) and let you decide and create the powers (vehicles), so that you can progre...

I have already contacted the editors of The Australian concerning the factual oversight made in the story's second paragraph.

The second paragraph of the story states the following:

"The Office of Film and Literature Classification ordered sex scenes to be cut from the game for it to meet the highest available rating for computer games, MA15+."

This is blatantly false. The choice to remove the sex scenes was that of Grand Theft Auto IV develope...

"Sony now appears less focused on console market share... instead shifting its PS3 focus to online services and segment profitability (ie. first party titles)."

Now if all the fanboys could take heed and do the same and focus their energies on enjoying whatever console(s) they choose to play.

As opposed to Sony and MGS4?

Silly comment.

EDIT: And yes both can publish/develop new IP, that's where MGS brought Viva Pinata, Kameo, Halo, Fable, Gears, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, etc. And Sony brought Resistance, Folklore, Warhawk, Unchartered, LittleBigPlanet, Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo, etc.
