Wow. What a brutal review. Gamesradar basically chopped it to bits, lol.
EDIT: Looks like it's getting terrible reviews all over, GameSpot gave it a 3, will be interesting to see IGN's score. What a shame.
CDs only hold 700mb each, which is really a pitifully tiny amount of storage for games. Let's hope they'd come up with a cartridge that holds more than 700mb, though knowing Nintendo anything is possible.
It really doesn't matter if you "take good care of" your system, all electronics are subject to possible failure, with or without "good care". So that doesn't really protect your investment.
And it also doesn't matter that you have an "external HDD for it", because that HDD can also fail, and it is also 100% tied to your specific console. If your console fails, the hard drive becomes worthless, because it will only work with the con...
@garrettbobbyferguson - Both the PS4 and XB1 support dual layer bluray discs, which have a capacity of 50gb. Which means that the article is correct, and you have no point. Also, the article is probably referring to the Wii U's pitiful 32gb of internal storage, compared to 500gb on both the PS4 and XB1. Either way, you apparently didn't understand.
Stop making excuses for Nintendo's poor decisions, step up to the plate and demand better products from them in the ...
While I agree with your ideas, let's be realistic. Nintendo hasn't been known for high end gaming hardware for many years now, that simply isn't going to change anytime soon. They prefer to keep their costs to a bare minimum when it comes to hardware, to keep their profits high. And since the NX is supposed based on a "new concept" (Nintendo's words), it will probably be based on a gimmick, just like the previous two consoles before it.
You do realize that none of that will ever happen? Come on, this is Nintendo we're talking about, they never release cutting edge hardware. They usually design subpar hardware, then toss in a gimmick to reel people in. That's probably what will happen with the NX.
Yeah, Nintendo seems more and more lost as time goes on. An amiibo for $40 is just one more example of how far they've fallen.
I agree too, if a game us MP only, like Titanfall or PvZ:GW, I just skip it. And if they just throw in a small SP campaign, I'm not interested either. Don't care about online MP at all.
Almost no one will. Nintendo's harsh DRM, which ties digital games to hardware, rather than accounts, makes any digital purchases from them a huge gamble. If your hardware fails, is lost, or stolen, you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to try to recover your digital games. And even then, you might not have anything restored at all.
They're so behind the times in this area, no one would bother buying a console with this kind of feature. Cartridge-based games wou...
As usual from you, it's nothing but excuses and finger-pointing, when the real blame for the failure of the Wii U lies with Nintendo itself. They bet heavily that yet another gimmick, tied to cheap hardware, would reel people in (like it did with the Wii before it), but that bet failed to deliver, this time.
Hopefully they learned their lesson (finally), and are focusing on much better hardware, with half-decent specs and including the features that people want (for the ...
No, the droughts exist on Wii U even if you take into account indie games. The other two consoles are getting far more games, of all types (AAA, indies, and everything else), whereas the Wii U is barely getting any games at all, of any type. And at this late stage in the life of the Wii U, it is doubtful that the situation will ever be turned around.
As for the premise of this article, it's kind of sad that diehard fans have to try to inflate the importance/impact of a s...
It's very simply really; Nintendo simply doesn't trust their customers at all. They believe that most people would try to "steal" digital games from them, if they offered reasonable digital rights management policies.
Instead, they tie digital purchases to a single piece of hardware, not to accounts. If your console fails, they insist that you send it to them for repair, often at your own cost (if the hardware is outside of warranty). If it is stolen, the...
It's great to see you finally admit that not only the name of the Wii U was a mistake, but the design itself. That's what many have claimed all along; too many features were outright left out of the base console, and too many specs were heavily scaled back, all to accommodate the expensive gamepad gimmick. Had Nintendo put a little more effort into the design, and not based their console on a gimmick (like they did for the Wii before it), they'd be in a lot better shape today. ...
It's sad that Nintendo goes to such great lengths to keep their manufacturing costs down, at the expense of their hardware. They literally cut every possible feature out, resulting in a barebones product in the end.
They did this with the Wii, they did it with the Wii U, and now it appears they're doing it with the NX.
And they wonder why their gaming business is failing? A little more effort put into the design, and less silly gimmicks gobbled in, wo...
Actually, they did say that the NX will be based on a "new concept", sadly that translates into "another gimmick". This will be Nintendo's last piece of gaming hardware, and based on what we've heard so far about it, it doesn't look good.
I totally agree, bubble up for a well-written comment.
What a lame, whiny article this is. Promo items are sent out all the time, it's a perk for reviewers that goes with the territory. Whining about this promo really makes no sense at all, this smacks of a cheap shot article designed for clicks.
"Story quality?" WTF?
"Like this website?" No.
Nothing to see here people, just down vote this article and website, and move on. The writer is probably salty that he didn't get a promo...
I thought Kojima didn't have any involvement in this game? There's no mention of him on the MGS website, retail box art, or trailers, is there? Konami probably had someone else work on the game, it seems. /s
I agree.
