This game is a great concept, but Nintendo really should have included several older NES SMB games, like SMB 1/2/3, on the disc. It sounds like all you'll be getting is a base development game and some demo levels, not enough to justify the $60 retail price for the game.

Except the next gen versions are going to look much better than the grainy Wii U version, and will probably come with big improvements to gameplay as well. So no, not downgraded versions, quite the opposite.

Absolutely love Terraria, one of my favorite games of all time. I bought it for PS3, 360, PS4, Vita, PC, and Android, both digitally and physical versions where available. The Vita version is my favorite, but the PS4 version is outstanding too (both offer easy zooming with touch controls, but the Vita version also offers great inventory management with the touch screen).

Would love to see a sequel to the game, but I can understand why Andrew Spinks needs a break. He put an en...

I have these for my Vita, and really like them a lot. The only minor issue I have is that the right stick cap makes it harder to access the buttons above it, due to its size, but the answer to that is, when accessing only the buttons, just nudge the stick backwards a bit with your thumb. Other than this minor issue, these XB1 joystick caps really make the Vita sticks much easier to grip and use.

I would hope that the Wii U could handle it, the entire game on PS4 is only 101mb in size, and Terraria is not a graphically demanding game at all. Having said that, this game should benefit from the Wii U gamepad, and it's one of my favorite games of all time. Let's hope that Wii U owners will support the game, and not ignore it like they often do with 3rd party games on the system. It really is a fantastic game!

This really does sound like a great game, but why didn't they include a couple classic original SMB games with this release, like SMB 1, 2, and 3 from the NES?

Would like to try it, but its not worth buying a Wii U just for a few games, and Nintendo's harsh DRM for digital games (tying digital purchases to hardware, rather than accounts) makes it not worth buying any digital games at all from the eShop. And due to the lack of retail games, the digital ones are much mo...

Most people aren't going to buy a Wii U just for a handful of games, and as Hoffmann and nowitzki2004 pointed out, Bayonetta is just not the kind of game that Nintendo fans want. It's a shame that Bayonetta 2 won't have a chance at wider exposure in the gaming community, on more popular game systems; but the fault for that rests with Nintendo and Platinum.

I'd buy this game on the PS4 at release, loved the first one, but I wouldn't buy a Wii U just for a f...

Why do you say that "people are uninformed and don't care"? I totally agree that this game looks incredible, just Preordered it yesterday in fact (15.99 with the 20% off for preorder, goes back to 19.99 when it launches on August 4). Really looks like they put a lot of time and effort into this game, love the style and want to support the devs!

This looks like a nice retro game, looking forward to getting it on PSN when it comes out!

I was just about to mention this, you beat me to it. This guy is responsible for the poorly designed, low-spec, feature lacking Wii U, he's the last person who should be in charge at Nintendo. They really need a drastic change in their hardware philosophy, because all their recent hardware has been gimmicky junk.

That must be "gameboy1" you are referring to, the guy is beyond deluded about the specs and capabilities of the Wii U, lol.

Except, the glaring elephant-in-the-room in your argument, is simply that Nintendo's own games are simple, undemanding, cartoony titles that don't tax the hardware at all; meanwhile, Project Cars has far, far more sophisticated and complex graphics, which do demand powerful hardware to work. Really not a good argument in trying to support the Wii U, is it?

There you go again, pointing fingers at third party devs, or anyone else you can think of, while failing to hold Nintendo accountable for producing hardware that can offer true next generation experiences. Don't you get tired of using the blame game argument to make excuses for Nintendo's bad decisions?

@ wonderfulmonkeyman - As usual, your damage-control posts are all about excuses and finger-pointing, but fail to hold Nintendo responsible for its shortcomings. Instead of demanding that they improve their hardware, online infrastructure, and policies, you encourage Nintendo to keep going down the same path that is leading them into irrelevance.

It's a shame, because at this point Nintendo's future looks pretty bleak, with even their own fans failing to demand bette...

No, it isn't "more stable", and it's far, far worse than either XBL or PSN. Only the most diehard Nintendo fanboys would claim otherwise.

Keep your eye on Galak-Z, it looks to be a very cool little shooter with exploration, upgrades, and interesting strategies (for the PS4). Looks similar to Gravity Crash Ultra on the Vita, which I really enjoyed!

That old "needs better marketing" excuse failed years ago, you really need to come up with something new.

3973d ago 4 agree15 disagreeView comment

No, the "real problem with the Wii U" was the Wii U itself. A poorly designed, gimmicky, underpowered console that simply failed to deliver a solid gaming experience, and was severely lacking in specs and features.

Had Nintendo put more effort into the design of the console, they'd be in much better shape today. Sadly, they once again opted for a gimmick, but this time it didn't work.

The "consequences of Nintendo exiting the hardware market" will be, less unappealing gimmicks polluting the gaming hobby we all love. Nintendo's gimmicks have not improved gaming, they've degraded it, and it would be to everyone's benefit if they just gave up on gaming hardware, and focused on the games themselves.

Very disappointed in the cancellation of the Vita version. If games like Geometry Wars and Resogun can be ported to Vita, I don't see why this one couldn't have been as well. Was going to preorder this today once they put up the link ($15.99 for PS+ users, $19.99 for non-PS+, kind of high priced), but now I'll just wait for a deep discount on the PS4 version.
