Why am I being unfair? Nintendo has been working on Zelda U for a long time, it was originally planned for release this year, which means that the game should be well on the way to completion. So if that's the case, why are they showing gameplay that has these frame rate issues? And why is the game only running at 720p, on a (supposed) 8th generation console? Could it be that the Wii U just wasn't built to adequately handle open world games? That the CPU, GPU, and RAM aren't up to...
You're getting a lot of disagrees because all you ever do is to make excuses for Nintendo's mediocre products and poor decisions. What you might try to do, is to actually demand better products and games from Nintendo, instead of always running damage control for every single action the company takes. Don't just accept everything they do, hold them to a higher standard.
Wow, looks like the game has fairly common frame rate drops into the low/mid 20s, yet it only runs in 720p resolution? And the graphical style of the game is very simple and undemanding, another concession to inadequate hardware.
Shame Nintendo didn't put more resources into the Wii U console itself, in order to accommodate the high cost of the gamepad. It left the console completely unable to compete, this generation.
You're living on Fantasy Island if you think that the Wii U library is even remotely as good as the PS4 and XB1. In reality, the Wii U has very few games available, and very few great ones from the small library remaining. Unless you're a diehard fan of Nintendo's games, then there is no reason to bother with the console at all.
"Legend of Zelda Director Admits Wii U Gamepad ''Disrupts The Gameplay'
No kidding? Why didn't Nintendo think about that when they were designing the Wii U to begin with? They finally admitted what most people have been saying all along; having to constantly shift your attention between the gamepad and TV actually degrades the gaming experience, rather than enhancing it.
Where it will sell very poorly, just like the Wii U version did? Sounds like a great idea. /s
So according to this article, if only "an hour" of gameplay was shown, and that was only 1% of the game, then the whole game would be 100 hours of gameplay? Sounds like total BS to me.
But even if it were that long, they had to sacrifice graphics and physics to make it run on the massively underpowered Wii U, and that's just sad. This is how far Nintendo has fallen in the gaming industry and community, when the cheap hardware they produce causes them to cut co...
It's a shame that Nintendo needs to rely on simple, cartoon graphics for their games, due to the extreme weakness of their hardware. The art style in the new Zelda game is a perfect example of that; it looks like a sequel to Wind Waker. This is why they need to just go software only, the hardware they produce is just unable to deliver competitive gaming experiences.
“For Us, It’s Not About Specs, It’s About Content”
Translation: "We're going to deliver another weak, feature-lacking, low-spec console, and you'll just have to buy it if you want to play the handful of games we put out. But don't feel bad, we'll throw in a gimmick that lets you control games with your toes, it's the Next Big Thing!"
Probably exactly the same as it does on the Wii U; Nintendo is too lazy to put any extra effort into it.
He single-handedly destroyed Star Fox Zero with his awful gimmicks, he really needs to just retire.
No, you're just making poorly thought out comments.
A lame casual game like Just Dance sends a message about Ubisoft's support for the NX? That's a pretty terrible message.
PC exclusive? GTFO.
They stopped supporting the Wii U because the console was unable to handle current generation games, and the games they did make didn't sell to the small core of diehard Nintendo fans. Don't blame Ubisoft for that, blame Nintendo (and its own customers).
They could call her Linkle, very original name.
What "big things" are coming from the NX? Serious question.
Yeah, the headline for this article is just wrong.
"Stuck in their ways of taking controller chances"
Unfortunately all of those "new concepts" they took chances on turned out to be weak gimmicks that degraded the gaming experience, rather than enhancing it. The wiimote + nunchuk turned out to be nothing more than an inaccurate waggle gimmick that made games harder to play. The gamepad was an oversized, awkward, uncomfortable, distracting controller that added nothing useful to the gaming experience (an...
It isn't the fault of developers when games on the Wii U have framerate or other performance issues. The reality is that the Wii U was poorly designed in terms of the base console specs and features, and the design issues are directly responsible for the issues with these games. The CPU and GPU are weak, there is only 1gb available for games, no internal HDD, and many other missing features or design flaws (like no analog triggers on any controllers for the Wii U).
