They really don't sell a "boatload", the company is in very poor shape in the gaming industry and community.

Good riddance, it was nothing more than another lame social app.

Agreed. The awkward, distracting motion controls combined with the forced dual screen approach really ruined the game. Miyamoto's obsession with gimmicks strikes again, and the results are just awful.

And an 85 score is just way out there, when the Metacritic sits at 69; only the most diehard Nintendo fansites have rated the game higher than 70.

@ Kaladin - Well, if they do actually have the expertise, explain why the Wii U was so poorly designed? The console has the following design flaws:

No internal HDD (or even a bay for one)
Weak CPU
Weak GPU (by 8th generation standards)
No analog triggers on any controllers
No Ethernet port
Pitiful 2gb of RAM (with only 1gb available for games) - far less than the competition
Old, slow USB 2.0 ports (USB 3.0 had been out...

Is this a joke article? The Wii U is region locked, you can't import any of the games unless you buy an additional console from another region. And no one is going to bother doing that, especially with such a pitiful library of games available (for any region).

They're not going to talk about the NX, but let's be honest here, it's Nintendo; you know that the NX will be based around a gimmick. That's the only way Nintendo can try to set themselves apart, they don't have the technical expertise to design any kind of competitive gaming hardware.

@ Stealth - Maybe you need to learn how to write? Here's what you wrote:

"Nintendo does not really need E3 nor any dev"

So Nintendo doesn't need E3 and they don't need "any dev", lol.

I'm sure you'll go back and fix your poor English, then claim that you never wrote that. I'd be embarrassed too, if I were you.

Sure, keep telling yourself that Nintendo doesn't "need any dev", they can just single-handedly do it all themselves, just like they did with the Wii U, right? We all know how that worked out, don't we? ;)

@ Stealth - So please explain why you consistently get tons of downvotes with every blind fanboy post you put up? You're living on your own little Fantasy Island, blind to the reality that you are the real person that people can't stand. You're like Donald Trump, living in your own sad little fake world, ignorant to the real truth. So sad.

It's on life support because of Capcom's terrible decision to make it exclusive for the 3DS and Wii U. They have only themselves to blame for the decline and fall of the franchise.

Might as well just leave Nintendo out of the article, they have literally almost nothing to show at E3. They've been out of the competition for years, and are becoming more and more irrelevant as time goes by.

Nah, PC gaming isn't worth it to me. Constant need to upgrade hardware, no physical games, playing on a small PC monitor, hassle connecting to the TV, lack of uniform support for controllers, inability to just sit back on the couch and play, etc. Not worth it at all.

@ jcnba28 - If you think Nintendo's situation is nothing to worry about, you're part of their problem. It's fans like you, that make excuses for all their bad products and decisions, who are actively contributing to the decline of the company. Keep laughing while the ship slowly sinks.

They are actually a very pro-Nintendo website, but even they realize how lost Nintendo is these days. Take off your fanboy glasses and see the truth, Nintendo is in a very poor position in the gaming industry and community; if they get it wrong this time, they're done in the gaming hardware business.

3570d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

Nope, they sure aren't. They're completely dependent on having an online connection and having other people connected and ready to play as well. They're throwaway games that will be dead and forgotten in (at most) a few years. When the online community dries up, or the servers go down, they become worthless and unplayable.

The NX is going to have a really hard time succeeding, with the PS4 and XB1 already dominating the market. Those two systems already have robust 3rd party support and large libraries of games spanning most of the gaming genres out there. And now it's pretty clear that upgraded versions of the PS4 and XB1 are coming soon, allowing them to offer even better gaming experiences.

And VR is poised to become a whole new experience for gamers, with the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, a...

No, it's really dead. Small library of games, entire genres missing, and almost nothing else coming out for it until the end of its lifespan early next year. Sounds pretty dead to most people, myself included.

@ wonderfulmonkeyman - Again, 3rd party developers bear absolutely NO blame for the failure of the Wii U. Nintendo, and Nintendo alone, is responsible for that. Their desire to incorporate the gamepad gimmick into the console, and make the gamepad the complete focus of the console, was the ultimate reason for the console's failure. They poured most of their resources into the gamepad, leaving very little for the console itself. Look at all the console pictures that Nintendo provided to m...

As usual, you are making excuses and trying to minimize the mistakes Nintendo made with the original Wii. It's really laughable that you try to bring up the PS2, PS3, and 360 as other possible examples of "false success", when all of those consoles really were solidly successful. Don't you ever get tired of blindly defending every bad product and decision made by Nintendo? Are you afraid that, if you don't continue to run damage control, your favorite company will be vie...
