So by your logic, no one will be buying digital games for the Switch? All games that come out for the system will have physical releases?

Both of the above statements are untrue. Digital game sales are a huge part of the gaming ecosystem these days. If Nintendo didn't plan ahead to allow for that, they failed.

@ hellothere - Your math skills are terrible. Let me fix that for you:

$250 - PS4 or XB1 consoles, one or more games bundled, "pro" controller included, 500gb storage (no need to upgrade immediately), whereas the measly 25gb (usable) storage in the Switch would run out with two digital games installed. What a joke.

You're truly blind to the truth; you have to tell yourself something to justify overpaying for all the Switch stuff. And in the ...

Then the Switch really isn't a home console at all. Imagine playing all your games on the big TV with the tiny joycon controllers when docked. Seems like a joke.

It's not 2013 anymore, both the PS4 and XB1 can be easily found for $250-300, with far more storage, better CPU and GPU, double the RAM, pro controllers included, better features built in like ethernet, much larger game libraries, much better online, real chat, etc. There's really no comparison at all, the Switch comes up way short and costs way too much.

"And yet it sold out. Weird... "

It sold out because of Nintendo's phony limited release manipulation, nothing else. Not something to be proud of.

As I said in another thread:

$300 - Switch console
$60 - game
$40-80 - 128gb or 256gb memory card (the Switch has a pitiful 25gb available internally )

Total $400-440 for the console with one game and much less storage than the competition (which come with 500gb of internal storage and a game). And if you want a real controller instead of the tiny Switch joypads, add another $70 for the Pro controller. This system is massively overpri...

Just like the Wii U before it, Nintendo cut corners like crazy on the Switch to maximize their profits, at the expense of their loyal fans.

"How come no one talks of accessories with the PS4 an Xbox one? This bias is outright disgusting."

What accessories? Each of those consoles already comes with 500gb of internal storage, a controller, and one or more games. You have no point whatsoever.

"128GB unless your fully digital you'll never fill that. "

Zelda BotW is at least 13gb alone digitally, over half of the 25gb if usable storage in the Switch. Obviously Nintendo didn't plan on people buying digital games for the Switch, so they screwed people on storage (just like they did with the Wii U).

No matter how you try to make excuses, the Switch is a poorly specced console, especially considering its high price.

Unfortunately the Wii ended up being a poor console, with tons of shovelware, ugly low-res graphics, and a broken, gimmicky waggle gimmick that ruined gameplay. The Wii ended up doing a lot of damage to Nintendo's reputation, ultimately alienating most of the gaming community and pushing them towards the much better PS3 and 360. The Wii died years before its competition, after the novelty of the waggle gimmick wore off and the casuals that bought it moved on.

So I guess that the Switch isn't supposed to be a home console, it's only portable? When is Nintendo's next home console coming out then?

Right, there won't be any more true home consoles from Nintendo, this is their last grasp at relevance, and it's not shaping up too well as we approach the launch.

So I guess Nintendo won't be selling any digital games for the Switch? And every single game coming out for it will be released on cartridge? Both of the above statements are not true.

The memory card absolutely should be used for comparison, the Switch will only have about 25gb of storage out of the box, an absolutely pitiful amount of internal storage for a modern day console. The PS4 and XB1 both offer a minimum of 500gb internal storage, compared to 32gb for the Swi...

Total $400-440 for the console with one game and much less storage than the competition. This system is massively overpriced and substantially less powerful than the competition. Nintendo had better re-think the whole thing, or they're going to have a Wii U 2 on their hands.

Totally disagree. The reality is that Nintendo's Virtual Console is a broken mess of poor emulation, inability to customize settings, and lousy sound. Classic older NES games on VC have dull colors and bad sound when compared to the original games. Here is a youtube video comparing the NES Mini (which has very good emulation) with the Virtual Console:

Unfortunately most diehard Nintendo fans don't buy 3rd party games (despite complaining bitterly when devs don't port them), so they have only themselves to blame for the lack of games on Nintendo consoles.
