The Wii was a trash console, they did the best they could with it. Don't blame EA for Nintendo's poor products.
This just sounds like damage control for a weak, watered down version of the game. And unfortunately, this is the reality of Switch ports, they will always be far inferior to the versions of the same games on the real consoles (PS4 and XB1). Unless the Switch gets its own unique 3rd party games, it's not going to succeed. Nintendo alone can't supply enough good games to keep the system alive.
Star Fox Zero was garbage, hard to believe that Nintendo thought it would be a good game with the idiotic motion controls.
25 minutes? They really need to get their act together, they've got almost no games coming out for the Switch. 3rd party developers aren't going to water down their games to run on the Switch, I guess Nintendo really didn't plan things out well (yet again).
Excuses, excuses, excuses. Your damage control is very sad. At some point you really just need to face the truth: the Switch is getting very little 3rd party support, and that isn't likely to change in the near future.
It'll be interesting to see if Switch sales can be sustained, with almost no 3rd party developers on board and a very thin lineup of games this year. If that 3rd party support doesn't materialize soon, the Switch is going to be in big trouble.
I'm sorry, this game looks like garbage. No way it's going to hit the funding goal of $1.1 million with such a poor concept.
Arms looks like a gimmicky update on Punch Out, unfortunately these are the main types of games the Switch will be getting. 3rd party developers are not going to water down ports from the big consoles, which will leave the Switch library very thin, like the Wii U library.
"because the switch is in demand for now"
Yep, the key phrase is "for now", once the small core of diehard Nintendo fans have purchased it, sales are going to fall off a cliff. No 3rd party developers are on board, the Switch will follow the same path as the Wii U. And we all know how that turned out.
Anyone who owns a PS4 and/or XB1 (in addition to the Switch) is going to buy those 3rd party games on on one of the main consoles, where the performance is much better. Just because they can play a game "on the go" doesn't mean they are willing to sacrifice performance, and they're also not going to buy multiple copies of the same game just for portability. So unless the Switch gets a lot of unique content that is tailored to the weaker specs, it's not going to succeed. ...
This in a nutshell is why the Switch is going to fall. 3rd party developers are not on board, and they're no likely to want to water their games down to make them run on the Switch, which is much weaker than the PS4 and XBL, both of which came out over 4 years before it. Nintendo just doesn't seem to understand that gamers want a solid piece of gaming hardware for the money they spend, they think that people will buy anything just to play Mario and Zelda. Unfortunately that's not ...
"We have not even seen the good games come to Switch."
You're right, and that's exactly why the Switch will fail. There aren't going to be very many good games over its lifespan, with almost nonexistent 3rd party support. Switch is selling well only because the diehard Nintendo fans are buying it, just like they did with the Wii U. But there are only a relatively small number of those fans, and once that demand has been met, sales are going to tank har...
Agreed. Nintendo hasn't been listening to what gamers really want for well over a decade, they just do their own thing and expect their loyal fans to support them no matter what. Star Fox Zero is a great example of that, so is the Wii U itself.
Motion controls are a terrible gimmick, surprised that Nintendo is still trying to force them into games. Look no further than Star Fox Zero for evidence of how they ruin gameplay, that game was a complete disaster. Arms doesn't look great at all, I doubt it will bring in any new fans beyond the usual diehards. Nintendo really needs to get some decent games out faster (including 3rd party games) if they want the Switch to succeed, as of now the lineup of games looks really weak.
Only diehard Nintendo fans like you could find anything positive in the dismally small list of available and planned games for the Switch. I'd give it two years from launch before Nintendo pulls the plug on the Switch, just like they did with the awful Wii U.
The only potentially good game on your list is Mario Odyssey, the rest are niche games with very little appeal. It's sad that you try to spin that into an awesome lineup, and even sadder that you have to compare the Switch first year lineup to the failed Wii U. None of those games are going to bring in gamers, outside of the diehard Nintendo fans.
Wow the game lineup for the Switch is beyond pathetic, a few rehashed Wii U games and almost nothing else. Sales of the console are going to fall right off a cliff soon, with so few games coming out in the future. Unbelievable that some people are trying to spin this as something fantastic, when in reality it shows just how little support the Switch is getting.
Unfortunately it's a barebones experience, with dull backgrounds, no music, and nothing other than a crash mode. Shame, this company had some potential but they wasted valuable time and resources on Dangerous Golf, when people just wanted another Burnout style game. They rushed this out unfinished and the results are not going to be good.
The minute Sony offered two-factor authentication, I enabled it. Did the same for my XBL account. I also use different passwords for every site. Really sad that there are so many thieves out there trying to steal your online stuff.
Nope. If anything, Nintendo's brief E3 presentation just showed how few games are coming to the Switch, with almost no 3rd party developers supporting it. Showing a logo for a game, without any actual details, does not equate to "saving E3 from mediocrity", it really shows how barren the Switch library is going to be in the long run. Once the usual diehard Nintendo fans have bought the Switch, sales are going to tank hard. Just a matter of time.
