Lack of 3rd party games will be the downfall of the Switch, just like it was for the Wii U. Since the hardware is unable to deliver the more complex 3rd party games at the level of the other consoles, those games simply won't be ported. Sure it will get the much less demanding indie and Nintendo first party games, but not much else. Once the initial frenzy dies down (caused in a large part by artificial shortages and the usual diehard Nintendo fans), sales of the system will stagnate jus...

This is pure fanboy fantasy. Most games simply would not be better on the Switch, due to its locked 720p resolution, weaker CPU and GPU, less RAM, and tiny joycon controllers. I'll stick with my PS4 and XBox One for the real console games, not severely watered down versions of games on a tiny low-res screen.

Underpowered compared to the existing consoles (PS4 and Pro, XB1 and X), which means the Switch can't deliver solid versions of existing 3rd party games, which means it isn't getting them. Make excuses all you want, but at the end of the day, Switch is going to end up in the same situation as the Wii U.

The North American version of the Gold console comes with 1tb of storage, since that is the new standard amount of storage for that region. However N.A. didn’t get the Silver console at all, which is unfortunate since I like that color and would have gotten one. I did get a Gold one when they were briefly on sale at release here in N.A (for $250, they are now $300 or more)..

No, more like some people will defend every poor decision by Nintendo no matter how bad it is, and you're part of that group of apologists. Step up and demand that your beloved company actually caters to the interests of gamers, instead of always making excuses.

Motion controls in traditional console gaming were a failed gimmick that greatly degraded and dumbed down the gaming experience. They caught on briefly as a fad when the Wii was released, but ultimately failed to deliver a solid gaming experience. Nintendo was too stubborn to let them go, forcing more awful motion controls into many Wii U games (Star Fox Zero being the worst example, but there were many others). These attempts failed, but Nintendo continues to try to cobble them into games ev...

Unfortunately, without the ability to match the current generation consoles, 3rd party developers will stay away, just like they did with the Wii U. And with only Nintendo's own first party games plus some indies, the Switch is going to follow the same path as the Wii U.

Nope. Once people realize that there will be very few 3rd party games on the Switch, due to its inability to match the current generation consoles, sales are going to stagnate just like they did with the Wii U. Just a matter of time.

Only problem is that their "turnaround" is not underway at all. They designed a handheld that is completely unable to run 3rd party games that are being released on the real consoles, leaving the Switch in the same situation as the Wii U (which was also unable to compete with even the much older PS3 and 360, never mind the PS4 and XBox One). Switch is selling on hype and artificial shortages alone, once people realize that 3rd party developers are not supporting it, the system will ...

Switch is selling on hype and artificial shortages alone, the game library is very thin with almost no 3rd party developers supporting it (besides a few indies). Wii U started out strong too, but without solid 3rd party support it limped along for a few years, then was discontinued.

Now that the artificial shortages are finally ending, and very few games coming out in the near future, people are going to realize that the handheld won't have much to offer in the future....

They don't want to stock it because the Wii U is a dead console, they already have a mountain of old Wii U games to dispose of. It's unlikely that the Wii U version would sell many copies, since the game will be out on just about every other platform physically.

Tons of fantastic Neo Geo games are currently being ported to the PS4 and XBox One by Hamster Corporation (under the Arcade Archives series), and they look and play great. Search for "ACA" in either online store and you'll find quite a few.

Too bad the emulation quality is garbage; dull, muted colors, lack of sharpness or aspect ratio options, poor sound quality. Some people will take whatever junk Nintendo shoves at them without insisting on quality, very sad.

No, the Wii U Virtual Console is very poorly implemented. For proof, just look at this comparison video of the Wii U Virtual Console and the NES Classic Edition mini console:

https://youtu.be/ocGdWRF84Q...

NES Classic Edition emulation is very good, with bright colors, several aspect ratio options, and good quality sound. Wii U VC features dull, muted colors, lack of sharpness or aspect ratio options, ...

Forbes really is an embarrassment in the gaming media industry, they need to stop writing idiotic articles about things they have no clue about. The new Atari console is just going to be another cheap box like all the others, the current Atari is just an empty shell of the former company.

Probably people who ordered more than one console, and it would be a great way to weed out the hoarders/flippers. I ordered one from Walmart last night and my order is "processing", no cancellation.
