"Stay the course"? Not if that means they should keep making underpowered, feature-lacking hardware with bad gimmicks forced into them, the last two home consoles from Nintendo have been terrible.
If they actually do produce a successor to the Wii U, which isn't certain at all, let's hope they drop the gimmicks and just focus on solid gaming hardware. Their gimmicks have really damaged their reputation badly, and ruined their chances to succeed this genera...
If the girls in DOA5 have penises, it's really not going to do a lot for gender equality, is it? It certainly might help promote Transgender rights, though.
@ marloc_x
Yes, it is, the thumbsticks could certainly have been better done.
Also a shame the 3DS didn't have:
- A better resolution screen (400x240, lol)
- A better CPU
- A better GPU
- More RAM
- A second analog stick (what were they thinking?)
- Better face buttons (the cheap membrane ones, you know?)
- A less crappy 3D effect, you know, where it doesn't break the moment you move out...
It's hard to believe they actually released a brand new console in 2012 with a pitiful 8gb of internal storage, no HDD or even a bay for one. They clearly cut every possible corner on the base console specs, to accommodate the expensive gamepad gimmick.
As for the 8gb system, most people avoided it like the plague due to the pitiful storage, no wonder Nintendo dumped that model, they simply didn't sell.
There is a guy selling XBox One thumbsticks, especially fitted for the Vita, on Ebay. I bought a pair and they work great, they're a little large and can slightly get in the way of the X button (and d-pad on the other side), but you get used to that, and overall they work great! Just search for Vita XBox thumbsticks, you'll see them. He custom makes them, I bought a pair and really like them. But they may not be for everyone, as I said they can make it a little harder to hit the X...
Actually, its a pretty fun game with the Dualshock 4, controls well, looks great, and is an entertaining on-rails shooter. Don't believe every review you read.
"we all have this tendency towards extreme violence"
No, we really don't.
If you do, please seek help ASAP.
I know really? As if a couple cheap little buttons and d-pad on an iphone/ipad can replace all the controls on those dedicated handhelds? Give me a break.
Seriously? Did you read the title/look at the thumbnail pic above, both say "Playstation Silver Wired Headset".
But seriously, I have the Sony Golds and they work great, well worth the price. You can't go wrong with them, for the money.
And yes, I know there are better wireless headphone sets out there, but they usually cost a lot more than the Golds.
No, you have to use the waggle controls to play it, unfortunately. :(
Wait, Blue Estate is NOT allowed to be released on XB1 due to the parity clause, someone should let the devs know! They may just be wasting their time getting it ready for the system.
Yep, my tablet auto correct changed HDD to HD DVD. I meant "internal HDD". Sorry.
Wii U owners certainly share responsibility for the failure of 3rd party games on the system.
But the main reason for poor sales of these games, is that Nintendo did a very poor job on the design of the Wii U itself.
They completely gimped the base console, to accommodate the high cost of the gamepad.
Look at the anemic hardware:
- Only 2gb RAM (with only 1gb available for games)
- Weak CPU
- Weak GPU
...
"Best value in gaming right now"? This has to be a joke article. The 2DS is one of the ugliest handheld devices ever made, extremely low quality, barebones tech. Looks like a badly designed Fisher Price toy. Wonder how much "nintendoenthusiast" was paid for this article?
It's a fantastic little micro console. Well worth the cheap price for what you get. I have two of them, in two different rooms, and they're fantastic.
You know what he means, don't pretend that the Wii U has anything more than a measly 32gb of internal flash storage, and no internal HDD or even a bay for one. It's an absolutely pitiful amount of storage to be included with any console, considering when the Wii U released.
And no, having to buy your own external HDD doesn't make the Wii U a good system, it's really just an embarassment.
Just another sign that they cut every possible featur...
Iwata, master of excuses, and subject of one of the greatest internet memes: "Please understand".
A measly 3.8 million consoles sold in 26 months is "holding it's own"? Nah, it's far from that, more like on the way to the graveyard.
@gedden7 - "Nintendo always made a profit b4 this BUT just made LESS of a profit so they count that as a loss"
That is just flat out wrong. You apparently have very little knowledge of how finances work. Nintendo actually had both Operating Losses and Net Income losses for the last few years. Not sure where you got that fantasy about "less of a profit", but it's just false.
No one can disagree with that, the Wii was absolute garbage. It was nothing more than a Gamecube 1.5 with crippling waggle controls that ruined all its games.
