"Real next gen games" and Nintendo just don't belong in the same sentence. The Wii U is clearly a last-gen console, and not a very good one at that.

As for Splatoon, the game looks really cheap and ugly, with simple primary colors, weak graphics, and very childish looking characters. Pretty sad that this is all Nintendo fans have to look forward to.

I'd much rather have a 360 or PS3, both with huge libraries of fantastic games, than a Wii ...

These prices are a complete joke. Games like these really aren't worth $50-60 even at launch, they all should be $20 bargain bin titles by now.

The only reason the prices stay high, is because Nintendo simply refuses to lower prices due to their extreme greed, and the tiny core of diehard loyal fans will pay anything just to get another Mario game. No wonder the Wii U has failed, games for it are a complete ripoff, and Nintendo never gives deals on anything at all. <...

Let me fix that for you: "Drops Gamepad..... Carries blow-up doll to bedroom".

For the vast majority of 3DS owners (of the older 3DS system), it won't be worth upgrading to the "New 3DS" (terrible name) just for this one game. What a scam Nintendo has pulled, to try to get more life out of an ancient, poorly-specced handheld. Sure, their tiny core of diehard, loyal fans will buy the "New 3DS" just to be able to play this game, but I doubt most of the rest of the gaming community will even bother. The 3DS tech is old and underwhelming, it shoul...

And with that your one meager bubble is gone. You can deny it all you want, but it's very clear by now that Microsoft's huge gamble with Kinect (making it a forced, integral part of the XB1 at launch) has failed. Most people don't care about silly voice commands, or being able to wave your hands around like an idiot to accomplish simple things that are much easier to do with a controller or a simple remote control. The XB1 base console obviously took a huge hit in terms of spec...

4081d ago 2 agree3 disagreeView comment

At this point the parity clause is doing a lot more harm than good for the XB1, MS really just needs to drop it. It's an arrogant policy to begin with, trying to force devs to release on only XB1 in the beginning.

"Unprecedented demand" and the word Kinect should never be used in the same sentence (or article, or planet). The entire reason the XB1 is behind, this generation, is because they built the entire console around that gimmick. Most people just want to play games, and Kinect doesn't have any benefit for that, at all.

I could have told MS, way back in the early days, to abandon the Kinect for XB1 (it pretty much failed for 360), and focus on a solid, feature-rich...

The difference is, the Wii caught on as a fad with a bunch of grandmothers and retirement home folks, and kids, but that fad fizzled many years ago, and the console died early. In the end, the Wii was a garbage console that polluted our gaming hobby with crappy games, awful gimmicks, and poor hardware. No one would ever consider it a success, when it comes to pure games.

4081d ago 11 agree8 disagreeView comment

Who cares? They're just more cheap gimmicks from the Big N, a company that is only known for cheap gimmicks these days. Nintendo used to be the top videogame hardware/software producer in the world, now they just shove out crappy gimmicks, cheap underpowered hardware, and rehashed games. How the mighty have fallen!

Don't bother clicking the link, it's a crappy Dell gift card. You have to spend it at dell.com, not worth the hassle at all.

I agree, not sure why you got a few disagrees, must be a few of the nerd boy scouts here. They really don't know what they're missing! ;)

I am too! I hope that the North American retail release actually happens, seems strange that they haven't gotten it out yet.

"Nintendo doesn't really dabble in gimmicks. Gimmicks are often abandoned shortly after their inception."

LOL, sure they don't:

-- 3D effect in 3DS, gimmick that most people just turn off (even on the new 3DS, it doesn't work that well).
-- 2nd screen on 3DS, gimmick that simply drags down the overall quality of the system (since they had to include the useless 2nd screen, which took resources away from the handheld itself).

Totally agree with you, multiplayer-only games are boring, and tend to get old quickly. I prefer SP games, so games like Titanfail and Evolve, with no SP modes at all, just aren't worth it to me.

Or alternatively (and more accurately), Nintendo killed the Wii U by completely bungling the design, basing it around a questionable gimmick and leaving out tons of commonly-expected features that have been in consoles for a decade or more. Yeah, more like it.

It's pretty clear that the Wii U is incapable of running a large, open-world game such as they've been planning for the new Zelda. With only a measly 2gb of RAM (only 1GB available for games), a weak CPU and GPU, and no internal HDD, it just wasn't well designed for any kind of modern games with large open worlds, detailed textures, advanced physics, etc.

They'd be smart to transition the Zelda game to the NX, and phase the Wii U out. The system just isn'...

4087d ago 6 agree11 disagreeView comment

Nope, the NX will be out a lot sooner than that. Nintendo is in poor shape right now, due to the failure of the Wii U and declining 3DS sales. If they don't get a new system out there soon, they'll be done with gaming hardware for good.

Which might not be a bad thing, since all of their gaming hardware has been mediocre for over a decade. If they build the NX around a gimmick like all their recent consoles, it's going to be doomed as well.

4087d ago 4 agree15 disagreeView comment

Lol be serious dude, why would I want a Wii U? It's a poorly designed, gimmicky system that isn't even remotely worth what they are charging for it.

And again, the article is nothing more than fanboy spin for a bad situation, anyone can see that.

Licenses are tied to the PS4 console itself, not the HDD inside it. That's why you can back up and restore to the same console (adding a larger HDD for the restore), and the upgraded console will still function just fine. No need for a license transfer, or deactivation/reactivation.

I upgraded my PS3 HDD from 120gb to 500gb using the back up/restore, and everything worked fine.

That's "awesome"? Pretty desperate fanboy spin, not surprising coming from "nintendoenthusiast" , lol.
