you can always download the demo and try the controls yourself. for my experience, they were easy to use, and many reviewers shares the same opinion. (thought apparently, not all of them).
MSR literally improves many key computing technologies (like web mining, speech, user interfaces, computer graphics, and so on). I know, since I'm a graduate student, and many of the competitor papers are published by MSR.
Healthy competition is always required for advancement. However currently people are more concerned about their pockets, than the better good.
You could buy "gift cards" during their holiday sale for 50% off. That not only included credits, but also points as well. (But they should not do that often, that introduces inflation to the trade points, making system less usable).

PlayTV is a DVB-T tuner (from wikipedia: PlayTV is a twin-channel DVB-T tuner). US digital signals are ATSC.

My only problem is with lazy hardware manufacturers. My Audigy drivers caused many issues for me (including a sudden power-off). However everything else is pretty snappy, and working very well.
I believe the main issue with Vista is the price. Come on, who would pay $300 for an operating system in this days? Otherwise, people wouldn't have complained that much (I remember XP being slow as hell, and pretty buggy, but people upgraded anyways).

Xbox 360 have been cracked for a long time, but the game prices are (usually) cheaper.
I think it has more to do with "sales" than "piracy". (PS3 game prices have recently started to decline, as in premium titles, etc. This is a good thing).
I'm currently running this "free upgrade" on my Laptop, and (almost) everything is running fine, and smoothly.
Hope they don't "overfix" and break it before the actual release. It would be nice to finally see an improvement (especially in speed) in a new OS release. Also this faster SSD, and promised size reduction means, it's coming to netbooks too. This may finally convince me to buy one. (As long as it has a viable graphics chip).

Gears of War (original) sold more than 5 million, but that includes the duration where it's price is less than $60/$50 range.
Currently it's very hard to find Gears of War 2 for less than $50, even in used form. So expect the number to at least double when it reaches "bargain" levels.
i did not say porting was a bad idea, but merely found the "almighty" preaching what is smart attitude distasteful.
i know that braid developer has no permanent ties to microsoft, however porting a game (unlike a simultaneous multi-plat release) is not always profitable (look at the bioshock incident, which was the game of the year of 2007). but if they feel the costs can be offset with the sales, it of course makes sense to go multiplatform.
he "should" also port to psp, wii, mac, linux while doing that. it'll probably bring in more sales. :)
but I think he's smart enough to know what he "should" be doing, instead of listening to a random commenter on a gaming site.

Joke aside, I usually prefer to play on 360, even if I can get it on PC.
There are several reasons:
1 - I like being able to put in the disc and play, instead of a length install
2 - The DRM kills the experience for most of the games (however, if the game is available on Steam, I usually choose that)

Everybody knows you can have it a few dollars cheaper, or increase the performance if you spend a hundred or more (they even mention that).
The point is "helping people" (i.e.: newbies) do this on their own. They've even shown step-by-step assembly instructions with illustrative photos in the article.
Instead of trying to show of your gaming gig, you may try to build such a site and actually help people.

GTAIV, MGS4, GoW2 were all good games that actually satisfied.
They've put a very detailed analysis of the current, and possible future situations.
However, I personally hope they don't go from ATI to Intel for graphics chip. It will kill backwards compatibility (which is very important for me).
