The failure of original Xbox was due to high production costs of HDDs, which did not come down as MS predicted. They had to scrap original Xbox since it had no hope for returning a profit because of the HDDs.
It does not make sense to limit this information. They should actually provide an API to make this simpler!
Look at all the publicity XBL gets due to gamercards attached as forum signatures! Everybody knows about achievements and gamer scores, even MS employees (Major Nelson) uses them, but Sony chooses to hide similar stuff.
Many pointed out that CoD or Killzone 2 (or other games) are really hard on veteran. I agree with that part.
But I think the site only considered games which are hard on "normal" difficulty, otherwise the list would be much longer (for example you'd have to include getting big boss emblem on MGS4, or similar stuff).
The ads are usually service related. Like upcoming games, movies, etc.
Anything that's not (for example Nissan cars) comes with free xbl stuff (wallpapers, gamerpics, preview videos).
So the xbl ads are ok for me. But obviously I cannot speak for everyone.
... it's a little bit short. since there will already be ads, 3 hours per *day* would be more meaningful.
I got my 12+1 from buy.com for $30. There were plenty of similar promotions during Jan-Feb.
And including the weekly download deals, and 400 points renewal bonus, it already paid for itself.
Hope this trend gets better.

I'm a 360 owner, but it did not stop me from enjoying MGS4, or Killzone 2. They are great games, and are fun to play.
(I also "endured" Resistance 2. But that's another story).
Every manufactured device has, will continue to have problems. This goes for 360, CPUs, PCs, and even PS3, too.
However what matters are the "failure rates", and what the company does about them. Unfortunately for MS, 360 failure rates were not low enough.
Tony P is right, saying something like "we decreased the failure rate" will mean "it was high to begin with".
Just knowing that MW2 is coming, and also it's built by the "correct" studio was more than enough for me.

They had several members of the press see it in real action. And whatever shown on the stage was actual gameplay.

I don't know, maybe my eyes are wrong, but Crysis already looks much better than this, and I know there are machines that can play highest quality Crysis better than "16 fps at 1280 x 720".
That was unexpected, and slightly harsh for a publisher to openly threaten a console manufacturer, especially when it is Sony.

As a 360 owner, I accept God of War 3 is better than the action games 360 has. No doubt about it.
However where the *** is Splinter Cell: Conviction? It is *the* game I'll looking forward to after seeing E3 videos. And considering many people on N4G, and GT forums are asking for it in the comments of this video, says something.
Even MS knows they are overpriced. They somehow outsourced the thing (casing), and now they're stuck with it.
Like the manufacturing "savings", that cost them billions in RROD replacements, MS had some shortsightedness at the design of this gen's console.

It actually is 14G but you're on spot. I was about to call the tech support when my 360 first arrived. The system information showed 14Gb free, and even formatting did not help. My first reaction was "it should be a bad drive", anyways Googling helped.
I'm still waiting for a cheaper upgrade option. It really is tiring to manage that tiny amount of space.
