I'm not saying NY Times is the end all be all of video game reviews, but I've read some other reviews that say similar things.
I work hard so that I can buy video games, and I like to get great value for my purchases. I've read it's anywhere from 8 to 12 hours, and the ending is kind of weird and isn't really an ending. That doesn't sound like a $60 value to me.
Like I said, I WANT to play this game because I think I'll enjoy it, b...
This is exactly the kind of review that has made me hesitant to get this game.
I've read glowing reviews, but then I've also read several reviews like this one.
I want to play Alan Wake, but not for $60.
""Ginormous. Massive" was how Papoutsis described the Dead Space universe.
"We've got the whole world and mythos mapped out to thousands and thousands of years. In order to create Dead Space originally, we didn't just wake up and go, 'we're gonna make this game'. We sat down and were like, 'okay, when was the first marker found? Who found it? What did they do when it happened?' We've actually mapped out quite a bit of the un...
Link please?
If so, that really sucks. I've been waiting for a new Ghost Recon game.
I'm really interested in this, but between Halo: Reach and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, I should have plenty of shooter goodness to keep me occupied.
I still plan to buy down the road at a cheaper price.
Halo is their baby (MS owns it I believe), but they probably wanted to move in a new direction and create a new universe to rival the Halo-verse. Microsoft probably wasn't too keen on this idea since Halo is their cash cow, thus they created 343 Industries, led by Frankie O'Connor (I believe) who was a pretty big part of the Halo IP to keep all things Halo in line.
Theoretically, it would seem someone with a lot of skills using their livery could re-create every franchise in the NFL.
IF custom logos designs can be shared, a gaming community could get people with awesome skills to make teams and post it. That would be really fuckin' cool.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I can comment in whichever articles to which I desire.
If it turns out to be a rumor, then oh well. I'm not making my final decision on this rumor. Once the final price-point is released, I'll make my decision.
No way I would buy it for that much.
I would rather buy three games for that amount.
LOL@NCAzrael assuming everyone lives at home with their mom.
I guess it's just a play on the 'slashing' gameplay.
I dunno. It's a lame attempt at whatever they were trying to accomplish.
If it has a cool campaign, then I'm sold.
I was going to buy it, but I've changed my mind for now at least. I'll probably get it down the road at a reduced price.
I'm torn.
I was really hyped about the game, and then some of the hype has been lost with the mixed reviews.
The people here who have played it seem to really like it though.
I think I read that it's only about ten hours and only has one ending.
I have the LE pre-ordered at Best Buy, as well as Red Dead Redemption. Argh I don't know what to do.
:-(
LOL, "Advanced Warfare"...Ghost Recon already had "Advanced Warfighter" like five years ago.
"Future Warfare"...Ghost Recon already has "Future Soldier" this year.
Mass Effect's opening sequence is pretty crazy. After conferencing with Captain Anderson and Nihlus, you see the distress video with Ashley Williams shooting at an unknown enemy, then you see the Reaper that comes to be known as Sovereign descending upon Eden Prime. I still get goosebumps when I start up ME.
Mass Effect 2 is pretty freakin' epic as well. Seeing the Normandy getting attacked by the enormous Collector ship, everyone attempting to evacuate, Shepard forci...
***POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR THOSE THAT HAVEN'T PLAYED MASS EFFECT 2***
I think it's after she says something about killing the Shadowbroker, and one of the choices is asking her why she wants to go after him so bad. If you don't pick it the first time, it isn't there after selecting the other option.
That would be awesome.
There's a little bit of easy to miss dialogue with Liara that gives some of the story from the time Shepard was spaced to when he re-awakens.
I missed it the first time I played because I chose another option and it wasn't there after the line was completed. I caught it on my second play-through though and it's pretty crazy what she reveals and would make a badass expansion.
I'm definitely not ready for a new wave of consoles.
I'm having too much of a blast with Xbox 360 and PS3 to move on.
Don't blame the people listing them, blame the morons willing to pay that price.
It doesn't make any sense why someone would spend at least half the cost of the game for ONE single item. Obviously they have the internet, so why didn't they know about the pre-order bonuses?
