You know what bugs me?
Achievements that aren't an increment of five or ten or whatever.
I never bought Dishwasher Dead Samurai because it has some messed up achievement values that end in 2 or 3 or some such nonsense.
"Perform an Assassination against an Elite to survive a fall that would’ve been fatal."
That's gonna be a bitch to get I bet...
He mentioned sales, but he also mentioned that 100,000 people can be playing it at any given moment. That to me speaks volumes about a game's quality. That game was the most played game on XBL for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Name me ONE single game this gen that has a great campaign, that can be played with up to three friends, awesome multiplayer that is updated regularly, endless possibilities with Forge and the community, Theater mode and the amazing stat tracking through BNe...
Xbox released in November 2005...it's been out for four and a half years.
Personally, I'm still loving these consoles. There's a ton of great games already released I haven't had the chance to play and there's a ton of great games on the horizon.
If another console released next year, I don't know if I would jump right away unless there was a killer game releasing along with it.
Maybe I'm the only person who wants Sucker Punch to make their own path, rather than follow Naughty Dog and make inFamous 2 more like Uncharted 2.
I love Uncharted 2, and I think it's a tremendous game, but I loved the comic book style still screens that inFamous had. I felt that it was a unique way to tell the story in between missions. I would rather them leave the cinematics to ND and Uncharted 2, and stick with the comic book cuts.
Even better then.
It's kind of sad that games today don't have that, while a game from 2001 does.
I had never played an RTS, but Halo Wars is awesome. Being familiar with the Haloverse probably had a lot to do with that.
I don't really see how Halo has been the same since Halo: CE
Halo: Combat Evolved - Single player campaign, splitscreen/system link/LAN muliplayer
Halo 2: Single player/split screen co-op campaign, ONLINE multiplayer
Halo 3: Single player/four player split co-op campaign, multiplayer, Forge, Theater
Halo 3: ODST: Single player/four player split co-op campaign, multiplayer, Forge, Theater, Firefight
Each o...
I don't even know where to begin with his horrible opinion piece.
"It tries to be a cover-based, methodical shooter, so what does it do? It consistently pits the player against fast-moving melee attackers that bum rush the party without warning. In fact, most enemies move much faster than the main characters can, totally putting paid to the idea of methodical, tactical combat and attempting to be more of a twitch shooter with player characters that weren’t designed f...
Halo 3? LMFAO, that list fails so hard. Human character models in Halo 3 definitely leave a lot to be desired, but (I think) everything else looks great.
I never played F.E.A.R., but I got it not too long ago for cheap and that game looks horrible.
So stay out of Halo articles, bub.
I see people talking about all the Halo games, yet no one is complaining about all the God of War games.
God of War
God of War II
God of War III
God of War Chains of Olympus
God of War Ghost of Sparta
That's all since 2005
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo 3: ODST
Halo Wars
Halo: Reach
That's all since 2001.
Seriously people...
The thing about open world games is the pacing. If a game is more linear, then the devs control the pacing and it keeps everything flowing together nicely.
I like open world games, they offer a lot of fun to do what you want, but games like Halo, Killzone, Call of Duty, Gears of War etc rely on pacing and story. You could have a great mission or set piece, and if it was an open world game, you might forget what led up to it because you spent so much time messing around in bet...
Apparently if you like playing shooters, you're immature.
I'm looking forward to a lot the shooters they showed.
Halo: Reach
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Killzone 3
Gears of War 3
inFamous 2
Dead Space 2
I don't care if they're all shooters, each one offers something different and all play very differently (previous iterations at least).
Am I the only one who's tired of all of these comparison articles?
These articles are almost as bad as the pixel counting articles.
Seriously, almost every big game is going to look great. Yes, some will look better than others, but that's where gameplay and story come into play and truly separate the good games from the great games.
In my opinion, Killzone 2 is a fun game with great gameplay. Killzone 3 will almost certainly at least...
Create a new one for me...Schizophrenic Gamer...I fall into several of those at various times.
The Trophy Whore
Bad Timing Guy
Mister Serious
Mister Apathy
Immersion Guy
I guess my gamertag (same as here) is more fitting than I knew.
"Being the most crtically acclaimed superhero game means nothing?"
I'm not saying that. I'm, saying that they created the "Guinness Record" for Batman AA. Tell me before this year where that record was. It didn't exist. There was no standard that the game had to meet.
That would be like me coming up with some obscure "feat", being the first to do it and brag because I was in the Guinness World Records.
They created a category to give to Batman. Really, it means next to nothing.
I understand why they would want to change Cole's appearance and voice, but storyline-wise, how is it explained? I just find it hard to grasp that they could change the character so drastically, especially since a lot of people, myself included, seem to like old Cole's look and voice.
Day one for me though, because the gameplay and story will be awesome.
I never played it, but if it does then it would annoy me lol.
I started playing GRAW campaign the other day and was looking through the achievements to see if there were any I could get and I noticed the MP achievements were in retarded increments. I'm glad I never took the game online lol.
