I see what you are saying but in the article he pretty much just bangs on about RAM, so really that's the only benefits he's looking at.
So it is kind of a moot point talking about consoles that have less than 2gb RAM anyway. And tbh from reading the article it seems like the author just stuck that bit about consoles in, it certainly wasn't a quote.
Personally I won't be ditching the PS3 all together. There are still loads of excellent console exclusives coming up, but all multiplats will be PC for me from now on.
@newmonday
I have the same problem as you, all my friends will be getting it on PS3. But I have a decent rig and want the best version possible. Oh the dilemma, I don't want to buy the same game twice!
Where have you been? Free Radical did shut down, but it was swiftly bought over by Crytek and became Crytek UK.
We need to start a petition for Crytek or something. I have very fond memories of Time Splitters , me and my friend used to spend hours making our own maps and stuff. It needs to come back, pretty much exactly as it was but with better graphics.
@news4geeks, I'd almost rather just have an HD remake, just so they don't ruin it. Would be awesome sauce.
Charging for something the PC had been doing free since the late 80's. Online competitive multiplayer has been around a lot longer than xbox live!
Trash talking, although not exclusive to xbox live, is most rife among the xbox live community though.
@shackdaddy.
I used to like changing it to German, German commentary is funny, if you don't speak German obviously.
@invenio
Subaru do indeed use the same engine formation as Porsche, but its not porches engine. It's very different , just the same piston layout. Porsche didnt invent it or anything, boxer/flat engines have been used in airplanes since long ago because of their perfect balance, first cars to use em were VW's , beetles and camper vans circa WW2 era.
Your point is correct though and I'm just going into far too much detail, sorry but as a Subaru owner and enthusiast ...
@Darth
The saying is actually
"Second place is just the first loser."
Again though, my point remains. They dont HAVE to speak English to anyone! They are German! No one needs to speak any language other than the one their own country men use if they dont have to, your point of view is ignorant not theirs. If you go to their country then you should be able to speak their language not the other way round.
I have been to Spain, Turkey, Greece and others for holidays yet I cant speak a word of any of those languages. So if I go to one of these countries an...
Why would it matter if they speak English? They are German!
I am Scottish, and I cant speak any other language than English, is that a problem too? Not everyone in the world speaks English, infact Mandarin Chinese is the most spoken language in the world and Spanish is the most widely used, so why would it matter if Germans cant speak English!?
I'm not a SOCOM vet by any means, I have merely dabbled with previous games, but even I can see that this is not SOCOM, its just MAG.
Slant six did a better job than this.
That's exactly what thought, it is just MAG in 3rd person, with less players obviously. It is nothing like SOCOM games of old. I downloaded it, played it once and deleted it. If you like SOCOM you will be very disappointed. If you like MAG, its basically just some 3rd person dlc for you.
I think most peoples ideas of a hardcore gamer are skewed anyway. Someone who plays the same game or type of game all day every day is not a hardcore gamer imho. They are just a fan of one game/genre! (i.e most shooter fans)
Someone who plays all and any games all the time is more a hardcore gamer.
Shooter fans just think they own the term hardcore, I reckon people who play fighting games all the tome are probably more hardcore, my mate knows everyone one in pretty much every ...
LOL, he would say that wouldn't he.
Tbh, I can't see it being a system seller but it will sell well. I loved the old twisted metal games, but I played twisted metal on the psp and thought it sucked so now I don't know whether I was remembering the old ones with rose tinted memories or whether just the psp one sucked?
Agreed, there are loads of mods for Shift 1 on PC which make the handling much better. Dunno what the devs were thinking tbh the handling in Shift is nothing like a sim.
I love it how the only people who complain about mandatory installs on the PS3 are 360 fanboys who don't even have a PS3?
@gypsy
Not really, I find it is definitely faster aiming with M&K but sometimes its easy to get yourself in pickle by turning too fast and missing all together! Plus sometimes its hard to make sure you hit the right keys at the right time with your left hand, like melee keys and stuff, I always end up hitting the wrong key and pulling out a nade or something. That is one area where controllers definitely win, everything is right in the palms of your hands. Obviously PC pr...
Probably go for Half Life 2 myself, the first one was great but the second was amazing. Can't wait for the 3rd, whenever they get round to it!
I think its a publisher problem more than a developer problem. All the publishers have gotten too greedy and are too scared to push new and innovative ip's cause they won't sell x amount of millions. Mirrors Edge is easily one of my favorite games of this gen but EA dropped it because it didn't sell as much as Generic Army Warfare shooter 11.
I don't blame the devs, not yet anyway, just the publishers.
