Show me a similar game at the same price.
I hope they haven't. Make the original game as good as possible.
Really for the price they intend to charge they should be putting whatever DLC they have in mind, in to the game rather than trying to charge for it.
lol a disagree for stating an opinion wholly expressed as my own.
Nothing wrong with this. I might get it and see what all the fuss is about because I've never got into the games themselves.
Might I be converted to the dark side?
Fact is that ND have created one of the best games of all time in Uncharted 2.
They have done it by truly tapping into a machine and making sure they squeaze as much out of it as possible.
They didn't cut corners and they aimed to provide AAA quality in every single aspect of the game.
The animations, the motion capture and acting it's all spot on. It wouldn't have been possible to the same degree on another console.
Why would they jump s...
No.
Yes it was the first game to have the feature implemented if I remember correctly.
Really, really hope this game will be good but other than it's being made by EA who are on a hot streak, nothing makes me think it will be.
Hope I'm wrong.
Remind me of pan's labyrinth.
Mastiff it was apptoved by someone with multiple accounts.
Really good update. They need another 2-3 of those before it'll appeal to a broad audience. Nearly a year in Beta, what's up with that?
If Naughty Dog are reading and I doubt they are. A newspaper journalist was sued and had to pay damages in the UK around 10 years ago for writing a damning review of a play that he never attended.
If you didn't send a copy to this review site then I suggest you contact your lawyers.
First it was "the PS3 isn't a gaming machine, the cell can't do games it's a multimedia chip!"
Then it was "PS3 and 360 are so close in terms of power it is scary!"
Now it is "can a game (PS3 game) be too good looking?"
That'll be Edge's excuse for marking U2 lower than ODST, "we'd like to give a higher score but the graphics were a bit too good."
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that this guys stats assume that there isn't a general bias or downplaying that works against PS3 exclusives on many game-sites.
It's a shame Edge have got a bee in their bonnet this generation, till a short while ago they were the best read out there on the subject of video games.
But those limited number of players you spoke of would buy it at full price. About 6m I would guess.
How many AAA RPGs have been released this gen?
Whatever the budget 6m sales would probably cover it and then some. Heck probably the best way to do it would be even simpler... Chapters.
Split the game into 6 chapters and if it isn't working or fan reaction is bad they can just stop.
Nobody on this topic would argue that the game would be a commercial failu...
It is strange isn't it. I think of Sony like the emo kid in class, Nintendo like the Warhammer playing kid and M$ as the frat boy giving them wedgies nicking their dinner money.
The USA is probably as distorted a gaming market as Japan is.
The EU is pretty well rounded in the games people buy and the consoles they own.
Not harsh exactly but it certainly seems to be sticking in some reviewers throats to laud this game so much.
Haven't really heard any reason to dislike the game yet. No review has given an account of why someone wouldn't like the game.
There's another flaw in your repost. That is that you say the blocky charm and unrealistic looking graphics made it charming and true they did. Square did their best with the hardware available. Would they have done more if they could? Just look at any of the cutscenes in FF7, they're breathtaking.
Cloud Barret and the gang all struggle to hold onto the highwind as a giant earth beast comes towering out of the sea.
Did they imitate the blocky look in these cut scen...
They talked so much rubbish before the game released so if the players have issues then Turn 10 should take it on the chin. Nothing short of perfect would have matched all the boasts they were making.
Shame there isn't a direct competition between F3 and GT5 but both games look to be at least nearly as good as expected. I hope they beef up the damage model for GT5 before release. It's been a long standing omission from the franchise.
I'm pretty damn certain that M$ will make more money than Sony out of this.
