The framerate isn't good. Hope they improve that before release.

That was far from non-existent lag. It was a lot. It seems to depend on the game though, because I've seen a video from some fitness game which had much less lag. Unless that was fixed in the editing - The video I saw used a seperate camera for the player and the screen.

It's easy to tell 60 fps and 120 fps apart. 60 fps was not acceptable in Quake. Mostly due to the fact that higher framerate reduces input lag, and getting the input lag as low as possible was incredibly important in a high speed, competitive game like that.

That being said, framerates beyond 60 fps are practically pointless unless consoles start properly supporting mouse and keyboard. The controller is not suited for high speed shooters like Quake.

Go is over 2500 years old. Othello just a little over 100. Their rules are very different, so it's unlikely Othello is "copied from". Perhaps "inspired by".

There are about 30 million Go players in the world, most of them asian. Some play it for a living.

I guess adverts everywhere mean the product is super awesome?

or?

It also has horrid limitations in viewing angle/distance + the 3D effect sucks compared to shutter glasses. I wish everyone waiting for glassless TVs go out and try the two different techs for themselves and then decide. You're fooling yourself if you think it looks the same.

Diablo II didn't support mods either, but "No support" does in no way mean it can't be done or that they are even trying to prevent people from doing it. Infact, almost no PC game supports mods, but on the open platform that is PC there is no way to prevent people from creating them anyway. "No support" does however mean that you can't play with these mods on Battle.net like you can with StarCraft II.

I care a little, but I care a lot more about fps so I've set regular AA to 'Force off' at driver level. I love MLAA because it takes care of jaggies at almost no performance hit.

Is was a rhetorical question.

So HD is necessary for gaming?

5581d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Some people clearly don't understand the difference between modding and hacking.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with focusing. Whatever you're staring at, screen or book, the eyes will focus the same.

So reading too much can indeed cause nearsightedness. Infact, reading will make your eyes focus even nearer than watching TV, thus making it even worse.

In any case, it'll take years for these problems to develop.

I don't understand why it's so hard for people to see what's prerendered and not. In almost all cases it's obvious, and for this video it certainly was.

I don't think you need to buy those cards either. My European VISA works just fine on the US store. Everything is much cheaper there too because I can pay in dollars instead of NOK.

HD is the same everywhere. PAL and NTSC is old.

You can't be serious... Did you expect the image to pop out from the TV in that 2D youtube video recorded with a 2D camera while watching it on your 2D screen?

5598d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Horrible viewing angle/distance and lousy 3D effect are bigger problems than price.

Stop embarrassing yourself. It's best not to speak about stuff you know nothing about.

Perhaps in 10 years will you haters of glasses get the same 3D quality as todays early adopters. I wonder how long you'll keep thinking it's just around the corner...

Also, in 10 years the 3D tech with glasses will be improved significantly from today too.

Best article/rant I've read in a long time. I've been thinking the same for years.
