I'm no Japanese expert, so I can't accurately translate what he said, but just the idea of pushing a marketing campaign toward children now seems like a bad idea. Iwata already said that they're not putting their games on smartphones and that's where the younger demographic lies.
Why would they say "we're not marketing what the kids like" then say "we should market toward the kids more"? In general logic, that's ridiculous.

Sony's not taking the Vita seriously at all. It's like they released it just to say that they have a handheld system on the market. Vita games, at the moment, are miles better in quality than what the PSP had. Tearaway, Persona 4 Golden and the Uncharted game are awesome. The problem is that there aren't enough of these amazing games. Where are they?
Sony has invested so much energy in making the PS4 such a great system that they've ignored the Vita outside of...
There's a big debate going on about whether this quote was mistranslated or not.
Quite honestly, I'm having trouble believing it reads what people think it reads. This is the point where isolating yourself is simply not a good idea. Regardless of whether you're in business or not, communication is important. Your message needs to be clear. After hyping up games like Bayonetta 2 and X between the many family-friendly Mario games, this isn't something I'd ex...
Geez, at least put a map or something on it. Don't just leave it blank.
I have yet to see a year usurp the crown of 1998. There was incredible stuff everywhere during that year.
There was disappointment in 2013 (my least favorite being the delays of a number of Ubisoft projects), but I thought 2012 was much more disappointing.
So it begins...
Never thought I'd see the day that a JRPG from 1995 would need to be played with a constant online connection present.
Jon and PBG made note of that on their Youtube channels. They made videos promoting Normal Boots and said that copyright is a big reason why they now put their stuff on Normal Boots first.
I'm happy that JonTron, PBG, The Completionist and the rest are able to act with much less restriction on Normal Boots, but this "make your own site" idea isn't universal.
The problem is Youtube's viewer base. Fresh talent is going to have a much harder time getting attention if they don't use a massively popular video portal like Youtube. Viewers will migrate to Normal Boots because its content creators have established themselves already; people kn...
Man, just because you don't like the game doesn't mean that your opinion is the one Truth and everyone else is ignorant of it.
If you didn't like 3D World, fine, but a lot of people did. I did. Did I find it more fun than Galaxy 2? No, but I liked it. And if the author was disappointed by Super Mario 3D World, that's no reason to vilify him. It's his opinion.
There's no reason to cry out against gamers and critics just because they dis...
Some incredible games have been released in January of their release year, like Resident Evil 4 and Bayonetta.
It's kind of weird, because in most cases, they're released so early that people forget about them, but at the end of the year when everyone's making their "best of the year" lists, you're reminded of how great the games are.
I do agree, but the game needs to be able to keep its servers going for a long time if it's multiplayer only. This needs to be an evergreen game, one that doesn't get yearly releases to divide up the multiplayer userbase.
Quite frankly, I actually appreciate the idea of focusing specifically on one multiplayer mode to make it really good instead of tacking on a terrible single-player like Call of Duty does these days.
This article is very vague in discussing the "division" between gamers. Who are the "supporters" of this system? Are they gamers? Are they gamers involved in the industry?
And most of response to this idea from the gamers has been negative, not divided. Sure, Amazon's wider influence might get them further than the Ouya, but they're trying to compete directly with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, and an Android console's software is notably less i...
It might spawn a game called:
"Sly Cooper The Game: The Movie: The Game"
Yup.
Local multiplayer is steadily being phased out in the gaming world today. Fewer and fewer games are including it. Nintendo's not letting it disappear, leaving them and a select few other developers to keep the local multiplayer vibe fresh and exciting.
No game does that better than Smash Bros. That's its strongest appeal.
I agree that QTE's are well overdue for a retirement, but I'm reminded that they existed long before Resident Evil 4. A lot of old-school arcade and CD-based games used QTE's as their main gameplay style, like Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.
Nowadays, though, it's just...lazy.
Eh...what can ya do? N4G.
I think Playstation proved their indie support the best at E3 2013. They gave an entire chunk of their press conference to the indie devs so they could show off what they were making for Playstation. Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Oddworld, lots of great-looking stuff and all independently developed.
Sony could've used that time to show off another AAA exclusive or a multi-platform game, but they dedicated an entire piece of their pres...
As wonderful as a Star Fox game made by Platinum would be, that looks very fake. In fact, I believe it was debunked since the years were inaccurate.
But that's beside the point. Nintendo has so many franchises, most of them just sitting around. If Nintendo doesn't want to make games in those franchises themselves, let a company like Platinum or Next Level do it. They can make awesome games; they've proven it time and time again.
Not every game needs to use the Gamepad in the involved and integral way that, say, ZombiU did, but if it doesn't, it should at least offer off-TV play for that game.
