True, you shouldn't wander into articles about a game that you hope to play yourself (for caution of spoilers), but sometimes it's unavoidable.
Take Tumblr. You have no idea when you'll see an animated GIF of the end of The Walking Dead randomly posted on someone's page.
Some people will spoil a game regardless of a page or forum's context. If everyone on the internet kept on topic in their respective outlets, then yeah, your idea would wo...
The challenges you must complete to earn the Achievements are the best part of the Achievement system. As nice as it is getting some sort of reward for them, an arbitrary number or fictional trophy isn't why you should be playing through the challenges in the first place.
Just enjoy the fact that you have more game to play.
I dunno. I'm trying to be open-minded and follow the author's argument, but a lot of those examples don't hold as much water as they should.
The Skylines didn't nauseate me nearly as much as they seem to do for the author, especially when you can zoom in and focus your aim.
No disrespect to the author, but it seems like they were intentionally trying to find flaws with the game just to write this article. While it isn't perfect, the remain...
Live and Reloaded's multiplayer was terrible. Really, really bad, especially compared to other online games on Xbox at the time.
Why do you think that just because there's no major press conference that Nintendo is just sitting around and doing absolutely nothing? There are still Wii U games in development, most being directly from Nintendo, so I don't get your logic at all.
I'm not saying this is a smart move. It's more a confusing move if anything (because we really have no idea what'll result from this until after E3), but you're implying that since Nintendo "lost" ...
"...that a third party developer (Like Ubisoft) doesn't outshine the actual console makers."
You mean like last year?
With your comment, I can confirm that you clearly did not read this article. If you actually read the article, you'd notice two important things:
1. There is zero mentioning of Sony or their trophy system in this article. The only mention of the word "trophies" in the article was a reference to Super Smash Brothers Melee. This article is focused solely on Microsoft and their use of Gamerscore.
2. This article is about the Gamerscore aspect and h...
This is a very disturbing story, but it's also a special story, one where pretty much any topic in the article will be up for debate in the laying of blame. Violent video games will be blamed for this, along with familial relations, addictions, gun laws, mental disorders, and pretty much anything that the government and media can find.
In the following months, look for TV personalities and politicians making failed attempts to make sense of this.
This is ...
As great and logical as that sounds for gamers, Microsoft would lose a ton of money on that unless the exchange rate was something bizarrely unfair...like 10000 Gamerscore Points equals 40 Microsoft Store points.
I don't think there's any way to get online achievements once the games that have them are taken offline.
Platinum Games' releases are notoriously short, but it's tough for me to complain when the quality is so amazingly high.
Personally, I'd rather finish an amazing game that I'll remember for years to come in a couple days than play a much longer game that just isn't as fun.
Great idea there! A Wii U/3DS combo with a Pokemon MMO would be a very good idea, one that could generate even more attention and revenue for Nintendo. Hopefully this won't be a pipe dream for too much longer...
As for the "I don't want this" comments, I would honestly like to hear someone make an argument as to why this would be a bad idea. I just want to hear that side.
"Reggie & The Wiggle Stick Krew"
Sounds like the name of a ska band from Long Beach.
You mean alienating the CONSUMER. And why would Nintendo cancel a press conference if they could use it to their advantage? Your explanation doesn't make any sense.
What I'm saying is that this decision isn't a mass exodus of Nintendo games like many are believing it to be (besides, aren't games what everyone wanted?). We're still getting games and Nintendo, despite what the internet may imply, isn't leaving E3 entirely.
I'm just a...
Iwata and Nintendo should quit apologizing and just fix these problems.
Even if Nintendo sticks to the Nintendo Direct videos, I highly doubt that what they say will go unnoticed if the news is big enough, which is pretty much what Nintendo needs and is predicted to do this year. Regardless of whether it's through an E3 press conference or a smaller ND video, if a new Zelda, Mario, or Smash Bros. game is detailed (all three were set to be detailed at E3 2013), the entire gaming public will know.
I understand Adam's concern and I must say ...
Between this and the rare NES game at Goodwill story, I'm sure gamers will start visiting these kinds of places even more. For good reason, though. It's cool seeing a rare game for a great price.
This person on Reddit has way too much time on their hands to contemplate such ridiculous ideas, but I'm even more disappointed in the person who believes these ideas enough to write a completely speculative article on them and submit it here.
If this was released, Pluto would still be a planet.
Considering that Sony did detail the Vita functionality with the PS4 in respectable detail at the reveal conference, this sounds sketchy to me. But if it is true, it's a shame, because the Vita is a good piece of gaming hardware. Damn good.
I'll stick with the others and say to wait till E3. It's not like it's that far away anyway.
