You can't remove a game from a platform it was never released on. It's like being a PS4 owner and complaining you didn't get to play FF16 before it was "removed".
Avowed, Hellbalde 2, Fable, FM, Clockwork Revolution to name but a few.
At least this puts to bed the narrative that MS takes games away from other platforms.
It's great that everyone gets to play this like they did in the past.
@itsmebryan
I wouldn't bother trying to explain, it's quite clear from all the comments that next to no one on this site has much business knowledge lol
@Christopher
If the way MS props up Xbox is by acquiring companies to make more games on Game Pass yeah that is good.
If the way Sony props up PS is by making more GaaS games instead of single-player yeah that's bad unless you like GaaS of course.
Also to add to my above to point because it seems this narrative that MS needs to make this "investment profitable" keeps coming up. Phil actually responded to this exact point during the FTC trial and gave a good example. If you buy a $1ml house and buy it with cash, once you own it do you think to yourself "I need to make that $1ml back now that I brought this"? No you don't because you brought and now own that asset, that asset is now part of your net worth/value so...
MS brought ABK not Xbox. And MS make around $20bl profit every quarter, they will make the money back by the end of the year :)
Wow despite decent hardware sales Sony still isn't making much money, it's no wonder they are cutting consoles prices everywhere and going 95% GaaS.
What's interesting is that PS as a whole made $0.652bn profit this quarter while ABK made $1.38bn. If MS owned ABK, Xbox would comfortably be making more profit than Playstation.
Wow it's literally just a port with nothing new at all. They even say there is no Xbox/PC release because it's already playable there.
Not surprised at all, that's what happens when you take the money bag from Sony, they should have forced Sony to pay for all the dev costs. At least MS usually does that with their deals.
This also pretty much confirms we will see FF16 on PC/Xbox and likely Switch 2 as well.
Jesus, Nintendo's hardware and software sells are really unmatched at this point.
Nearly 20ml for an exclusive in just 2 months is pure madness.
The EU and FTC allowing the deal. And Sony making a deal with MS.
Those changes haven't been taken into account by the CMA's report since it was made before all that occurred.
It's both obviously, Phil for starting the conversation and the new CEO for not being Sony's lap dog anymore.
FF7R I expect soon, the others will likely come after Sony's deals have expired.
This is coming from SE's new CEO who clearly is done with keeping games exclusive. You can laugh now, but those games and future FF games are a matter of when they come to Xbox not if they ever do.
It's a coping mechanism ever since the ABK deal was announced. It's believed Sony has to retaliate in order to create balance in the world.
Funny thing is Sony probably can't afford SE and even if they could they likely won't do it since a lot of SE profits are from Nintendo so making their games exclusive will be a money sink which unlike MS Sony can't afford to do.
Good guy Phil strikes again.
I bet we will be seeing FF7R, Rebirth and FF16 announced soon too.
I think you read it wrong.
I read it as they are saying Starfield will be a lifeless version of No Man's Sky as opposed to No Man's Sky is lifeless itself.
The people watching the VGAs already know about Game Pass they need to do a mainstream ad campaign.
Cannot wait for this, so glad we now know 100% it's coming an no more delays.
Going to be spending 100s hours and multiple play-throughs if Skyrim is anything to go by.
