Pretty much every GaaS launches like that though, what sets the best apart from the rest is the devs ability to listen and improve and 343 has done that in spades which is why it's having such a boom.

What are you on about no where in the article does it mention Sony, get a grip.

This is another positive Xbox article that again you come to derail, go play all those imaginary first party Playstation games that released this year.

It's only going to get worse with Sony dominating as they are.

Expect plenty more $10 game modes for other games.

Could be.

There are rumours on Reddit that Housemarque were being forced to be a support studio to that Haven studio GaaS game to get it up and running faster. Whatever they were working likely got put on hold or cancelled so he left.

It's not a 6 year old game though it just released a new expansion if I remember correctly.

And look how old games like WoW, Fortnite, Minecraft, COD etc are and they aren't having all time lows.

As for MS games the majority of their players are on Game Pass so they likely all have higher numbers than Destiny.

Yikes.

Sony really should have held off buying Bungie sounds like they got played and overpaid, no wonder MS passed on them.

And to think they are the ones heading up Sony's GaaS initiative, that TLOU factions game might have actually been good.

How? Everyone will be a publisher only in about 15/20 years time, consoles won't be needed forever.

Sony better hope they get acquired before that happens because it's Game Over for them at that point.

Yep if anyone would be leaving gaming it would be Sony

817d ago 1 agree25 disagreeView comment

Because it means MS doesn't have to force their other studios to make 12 GaaS games instead of developing what they want causing layoffs and "retirements".

Even the worst COD sells the more than any other game.

When you have a successful brand you don't even need to try.

Same.

Next year is looking insane for Xbox releases and Game Pass.

Your comments speaks volumes about how this site's community is.

An Xbox fan can't even express their excitement about a game in an article about that game without getting spammed by PS fans and downvoted. And I bet Obscures comment gets marked as spam while yours remains.

What!? lol

The last major releases from Sony were Spiderman and FFF16 both brought....

Interesting that the optimizations made for the XSS also improved the performance of the PS5/XSX versions as well.

Just goes to show the devs that make the effort for the XSS make the better games overall.

Sony and Nintendo making a Zelda film together is an interesting combo.

I don't see how they cast Link and deal with him being silent. Mario kinda worked since it was an animation and Mario does speak. Link being a human-like with no cartoony art style will it something....

Why would they do that when they know the masses will pay full price.

It's like sports games like FIFA, every year they release the same game with minor changes and charge full price and it's always a best seller.

It's quite clear they don't but it won't really matter since it seems like they are gearing to be acquired within the next 10/15 years anyway.

Their next financials should be rather telling.

It's a first party game so it's not surprising.

Also only some users get it, I personally didn't get it and I use my Xbox nearly daily.

This missed their revenue target by 45% apparently no wonder there were layoff.

Destiny just isn't growing anymore.
