The original iPhone was priced crazy high and everyone thought no one would buy it then look what happened everyone copied it and it became the standard for phones.

Apple will lead in this space everyone else will play catch up.

Yep gaming VR is so niche it's pretty much pointless no one is going to buy a $500 headset on top of a $500 console just not happening excepted for the super hardcore.

With Apple's Vision Pro I can see everyone following their lead and going AR/VR for future headsets.

Agreed Xbox has the most variety in content by a country mile, they don't do the same 3rd person narrative skill tree games over and over. They have shooters, racers, rhythm games, simulators, RPGs, 2d scrollers, GaaS etc.

All with different tones from dark and gritty like Hellblade to light hearted like HIFI: Rush and in between like Avowed.

They really are unmatched right now.

It did :)

The good news from this means it should be possible to port to current gen consoles if they were able to get it to run without the CELL.

I do remember back then how everyone said it was only possible on the CELL reminds me of todays it's only possible on the PS5's SSD.

It will be interesting to see the improvements a year from now, Starfield had an insane graphics leap after a year of polish the same will likely happen with Avowed too.

Yep gamers are getting tired of the cookie cutter single player 3rd person narrative games with skill trees that Sony releases over and over.

MS actually have massive variety which at this point is unmatched.

JRPGs are great but their biggest pit fall is they are usually one and done games with little replayability except extra difficulty modes. WRPGs last for years since you have a new experience every play through.

Yep Xbox is they hard to WRPGs, it will pretty much have one every year.
2023: Starfield
2024: Avowed
2025: Fable
2026: Clockwork Revolution
2027: The Outers Worlds
2028: ES6

What is even more concerning is the demo in version 1.03 while the retail version is 1.0 so the demo is a newer build that the disc version.

I glad they decided they needed a day 1 patch or the launch could have been a disaster.

Exactly it was planned for PS4 so it was being developed with the PS4 in mind. They were developing the game before the PS5 dev kits were even available, what dev kit do you think they used? P.S.4

But think what you will I guess lol.

Indeed, they don't even need to announce anything else for 2024 it's already stacked.

It was planned for the PS4 as well but they dropped it.

977d ago 10 agree62 disagreeView comment

They should have just stuck to 30fps only since the 60fps mode is a joke in terms of performance if those analysis are true, which is surprising since it was a PS4 game.

Promising no day 1 patch likely means there won't be an update for a good few months just to save face too. Disappointing.

I can give you a couple such as the infamous "we believe in generation" or that they would never make their games multiplatform.

Pretty much this MS is a trillion dollar company, Sony isn't. The second Playstation fails Sony go bankrupt.

I do believe in 15+ years Sony Playstation probably won't be around someone like Amazon/Apple will acquire them.

Sony lying to the public and lawyers is pretty what they have been doing all this generation.

MS just has too many games to show, some had to take a backseat and one of those games was Halo. Simple as that.

Todd said in some interview that he doesn't want to outsource their core IP to other studios so it will likely only be spins off Obsidian will get to do.
