All those profits aren't the real story, Sony is still struggling it seems.
That makes no sense if that was the case they wouldn't fire devs/artists they would just fire creative directors. You can't make a new game with no one to make it.
The game is likely in the same state as KOTOR and will likely become vapourware.
But saying Sony have no involvement is wrong, would you say the same for Ratchet, Death Stranding, Returnal etc all games Sony was involved with but didn't own the studios.
Sony are at least 50% to blame for these layoff if not 100%.
The studio only had 100 devs from the last count cutting 90 means the studio and game are pretty much dead, why would Sony bother.
Yep not looking good for Sony, it really does seem like if you aren't making a single player 3rd person narrative game with skill trees your funding gets cut.
They already are a 3rd party publisher, have you not heard of a game called Minecraft?
MS has a bigger vision than Sony/Nintendo they don't need consoles to be successful but they will still make them as they are a good access point.
Sure whatever makes you feel better, we both know who is right though :)
Yes because Bloodborne was terrible that's why they closed Japan Studio and Driveclub was the worst that's why they closed Evolution etc etc.
Surprising they closed them considering they had record sales, I guess if you are not making the 3rd person narrative game with skill trees you will get the axe.
It was confirmed in court during the ABK hearings that they plan to make it exclusive it's one of the reasons the deal was blocked. Why would they tell regulators it would be exclusive when making it mulitplatform would more likely mean the deal went through?
Huge plot twist it was blocked even without the Playstation issues.
Sounds like they will appeal but at this rate they should just move on, since without this deal I don't see how Xbox can recover from it's sales decline.
Abriael said the keys parts.
What is even more interesting is that even with a 30% hardware drop their revenue only fell 4% so it's quite clear hardware is become less and less as an important revenue driver.
Surprised these results are above their predicted expectations, it's even their 2nd best Xbox Q3 ever.
I guess since Game Pass is up they are happy, it will be interesting to see the percent increase if and when ABK is included.
Yep the FTC is screwed when trying to block this.
Nintendo wants it's to go through hence why they are making it difficult for the FTC.
This is why MS are buying publishers they are tired of paying for games Nintendo and Sony get for free.
They are increase there team size they announced today in fact: https://twitter.com/Hazzado...
And yeah HFR was a massive hit, it's still the highest rated game this year on Open Critic.
Apparently they are making a JRPG next which is something Xbox really needs.
So MS say it didn't flop so you don't believe them, but you believe unsourced rumours.
Yet when everywhere is saying PSVR2 sales flopped it's lies and only Sony is the real source.
You guys are looking desperate now.
Must be great being a PG dev knowing so many gamers got to enjoy your game. Most AAA games don't get close to this number.
