I will wait until the non pro version releases for $1000 but this would be good for someone who doesn't own a Mac or a TV and is likely the only way VR/AR ever become mainstream.
Sounds like it's going to be a show for the ages.
It's going to end baldly whatever way it goes.
If they succeed with a GaaS most if not all of their studios will be relocated to make content for it. There is a reason why ABK has all their studios making COD, Rockstar has only made one game in years, Epic only has Fortnite etc. They need serious man power to succeed.
If they fail with GaaS games you can bet all of those studio they brought like Haven and Firewalk will be shutdown pretty quickly.
Agreed it will be interesting to see if they can make something other than the same single player 3rd person narrative driven games with skill trees over and over.
I think MS should be hands off with anything that was in dev before the purchase, imagine the backlash they would have got if it leaked they had cancelled Redfall because they didn't like it. There was mass hysteria for the cancellation of just the PS version.
I am just glad it's confirmed that Zenimax is the reason Redfall even happened and not Arkane, hopefully now with MS at the helm this won't happen again.
Yep that SSD talk was just that, all talk.
They likely could have done a PS4 version too.
It was probably the Bungie effect again, likely saying it won't monetize well.
Agreed at this rate 2024 will be just GaaS, the Playstation of today is a stark difference from the past.
All I am going to say is there is a reason MS is a multi-trillion dollar company and Sony is not, sales are not the whole story :)
As this point ND should just accept their weaknesses, they are only good at 3rd person single player narrative driven games, let the pros like Bungie deal with multiplayer.
Not every studio is capable of diversity in genres.
Jason is the source and he is the most reliable and respected leaker out there, you can choose to ignore it if you like but the chances of this being are a lie are slim.
It was a well funded game, not anymore it's on the back burner now, possible even being scrapped:
"The team working on the game was scaled back after a recent evaluation, said the people, who asked not to be named because they weren't authorized to speak publicly. A small group remains on the project while the company reevaluates the direction. While the game has not been canceled, many of its developers have been moved to other projects."
According to Jason they have scaled back the team for Factions (due to a review from Bungie saying how the game won't work as a GaaS) so it looks like it could very well be scrapped soon so they can all more onto the new game.
Yeah for sure they need to show some games, so far 2024 has nothing noteworthy.
Wow so it's "wait until E3...." for Playstation now.
How the tables have turned lol
That was the reason there was no showcase last year, there is no excuse for showing nothing this year unless they are seriously struggling and in development hell.
Have you actually played the game?
