This situation is similar to when Protoype and Infamous were released. People claimed that the PS3 version of Prototype sold less than the 360 version because PS3 owners also had Infamous to choose from.

I finally played NFS Shift today. It's OK, but I think the control is terrible - I found it quite choppy. The 360's best arcade racer - Project Gotham Racing 4 - has much better control than Shift. Of course, the Forza games blow them both away as far as controls go.

I'm sure MS is "running scared" as they watch the 360's sales INCREASE month by month, despite the immense competition from the PS3.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - The PS3's increase in market share is clearly NOT coming at the expense of the 360, and the sales numbers prove that.

I guess it would be right next to the room full of PS3 fanboys who can't stand the fact that the game they despise got some very good reviews as well.

"I was going to say "Cue the 'This site is a bunch of PS3 fanboys'" but Cooliris never fails to be a real 360 troll."

You're accusing a Halo fan of trolling a Halo article - wow. So now 360 fans commenting on 360 articles is trolling. Damn, this site gets more screwed up every day.

Examiner - 100% accurate in the eyes of PS3 fanboys. I'll have to remember that next time they give a PS3 exclusive a low score and many of the same people cry &...

Are you going to be as critical of gameswire.net, the blog that said GT5P looks better than Forza 3? Or, do you just accept their opinion, no questions asked, because they were in favor of GT5P?

"Forza 3 100%

vs

GT5 65%?"

I thought PD said GT5 was ready to be released "any day now"? Did they lie, or did they see Forza 3 and decide to do more work on GT5?

EDIT @ bubbles - If you do a little more research, you will also find the PD quote that I mentioned - it was news here several times.

So, I guess gameswire.net is romantically involved with Sony.

If it was really a Microsoft employee, he would would know that Forza 2 came out in 2007, not 2008.

Hype, corporate $$$, and biased reviewers have been around a lot longer that MS has been in the console business. Plus, it's not limited to just the video game industry - the movie and music businesses are plagued as well.

Funny that you mention Game Informer, as this was the publication that began the 54% Xbox 360 failure rate rumor. Did MS pay them to publish that?

While there are a few biased reviewers, the good and bad will offset each other, and the middle...

While there is a remote possibility of a few corrupted reviews, the majority are unbiased. This is why sites like Metacritic are important. The more reviews there are, the less impact the biased reviews - both high and low - will affect the overall rating of the game.

This is similar to how scores are tabulated in Olympic events such as gymnastics and figure skating. The highest and lowest scores are dropped, and the rest are averaged. I'd be willing to bet that if you drop...

Exactly.

It's kind of like the people who believe that the 1969 Apollo 13 Moon landing was faked, and it's been a conspiracy for the last 40 years. Taking into account how many people would have had to be directly involved, and how many more people with knowledge of the conspiracy would have to be paid off to keep quiet for SO long, it would be easier to actually land a man on the moon than create the alleged conspiracy.

If MS was really paying people and websit...

I'm mostly looking forward to all of the new tracks. Track variety is the most important contributor to longevity in a racing game. As long as there is a fresh variety of tracks to race on, as well as the potential to unlock more, the game will never become stale. Forza 3 seems to have a nice blend of real world and developer designed tracks.

Can't wait to see the new graphics engine first-hand also - looks amazing.

2 days until the demo!!!

Just like PS3's price cut did little to offset 360 sales worldwide. 360's sales continue to increase month by month despite the competition from the $299 PS3.

6109d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

MS doesn't need to downplay the PS3 price cut - the 360 is doing just fine. It's sales continue to increase each month, despite all the hype surrounding the PS3's price drop and slim launch.

Clearly, PS3's market share gains are not coming at 360's expense.

EDIT - Yeah, you're right about Japan - but I doubt MS cares too much about Japan anyways since 360 is doing so well in other (much larger) countries. Japanese numbers do very little to offset 360's sales in...

You're right, they shouldn't be compared to each other. Forza has consistently rated higher than any corresponding GT game. Until GT steps up its game to match Forza's quality, there is no comparison.

You've been on N4G long enough to realize that actually playing a game is not a prerequisite for commenting on it.

How many "Game of the year" and even "Game of the decade" declarations have we seen recently regarding games that are still months away from release?

6110d ago 18 agree25 disagreeView comment

It's not this writer's fault that Forza 3 is almost ready, with all of it's features made public, while GT5 doesn't even have a release date yet. You can only compare what actually exists.

6110d ago 2 agree8 disagreeView comment

The writer can only talk about the features that have been shown already. I've never seen any playable, in-game GT5 Nascar footage - have you? If you have, please post a link. The only GT5 Nascar I've ever seen is the E3 demo.

EDIT @3.3 - I could understand waiting for TGS if we knew for sure that Sony was announcing a release date, but that is not guaranteed. What if Sony doesn't announce a release date this week? Then what, keep waiting until the next event?

6110d ago 4 agree7 disagreeView comment

You can't pause, then restart undamaged after a crash in real life either. ALL racing games have a "restart race" - "rewind" is just a partial restart.

If a developer wanted 100% realism, you would get to play each race only ONCE - no pausing, no restarting.

At least they have enough credibility to actually play the games before forming opinions, unlike you.
