I don't really mind the looks of it. It's not inspiring, but not that ugly either, IMO. What's really ugly is the inside of it:
-Anti used games
-24 hour offline play
-Paid online (like it has been with the first two consoles)
-Huge emphasis on TV and sports, something we already have been doing for decades long before video games even existed, and we certainly won't need yet another set-top box
It's the most hated console in over a decade. Even more hated than the Wii U and PS3 at launch and probably nearly the size of the CDI too.
MS really dropped the ball.
It's about their Origin and not the hardware. EA could port their games to Wii U just fine but simply refused to because, well, they are just being EA.
Don't fool yourself, EA simply didn't like Nintendo's refusal of their Origin service, so they pulled support for the Wii U, even if the game can run fine on the hardware. The Wii U is underpowered but it isn't THAT underpowered to the point they cannot get their F3 games to run on it. They simply don't want to.
This was a foregone conclusion.
I won't lie, they look great.
You can count on Sony learning from Nintendo. They pretty much have already.
Wii love U PS4ever!
Gamers are finally waking up about hating on the Wii U as much as they did. The little beast can finally share some of the love the big beast PS4 is getting.
Wii love U PS4ever!
MS really did its competitors a favor. That is what you get for using corporate greed as a "selling point" over gaming for your next-gen "gaming" console.
PS3 fans are waiting to upgrade to PS4. All of my Xbox360 friends on the other hand are not "upgrading" to the One.
MS's core focus on digital entertainment wasn't even the worst part of the reveal. You have an anti-used games technology and a 24-hour offline mode, two of the problems neither PS4 or Wii U has. PS4 will likely go as far as online passes, but nothing like XOne's approach.
Perhaps you should take a peek over at the official Xbox forums. So much backlash from Xbox fans no less.
If true, Nintendo will take some of my money.
Terrible XOne reveal, gamer/developer backlash, and now an XBL hacking? What next?
The future of MS consoles.
You're right about that. The XOne MIGHT have a market but that's in America. PS4 and Wii U for worldwide.
PS4 will likely rule, but Wii U is also a good contender. We'll see how the sales, games, and developer support go when all three are finally released. For me and many other gamers,
Wii love U PS4ever
This leaves me to only getting two of the three consoles this generation. You made that easy for me MS.
You can also factor in a lot of USA gamers not wanting it either. This thing has no market left for MS. People that wanted TV entertainment already has a cable/satellite box provided by their service company. Sports fans can easily use their smartphones or laptops to keep track of statistics. Good luck getting GameStop/BestBuy to stock any console with anti-used games technologies. People with unreliable/no internet are left with the PS4 or Wii U for their console buying decisions. The list g...
I have been wanting to buy an Xbox360 but I waited until announcement in case the new console will have BC with 360 games. Doesn't look like it, so I can safely purchase a 360 and not worry.
Adding this to my XOne list of Pros.
Well the XOne does require a Kinect to use (as it looks, good luck getting by without it, really) so yeah it is safe to assume most of these games will at least make use of some gestures of the Kinect, even if these games were full-fledged AAA games.
