sounds like Mac hate to me...
Not all Mac users buy a £2k system to sit in star bucks to browse the net. (although I won't deny some do, but they aren't real people, they are cooler/better than us)
I like to think I have more than one brain cell, but I choose to buy a Mac, not because I know nothing about how to maintain a windows pc, but because I don't want to waste my time maintaining a computer, and more time being productive.

When I visited amsterdam a few years back, I saw a porn dvd (as in on the shelf in the store, I didn't watch it) titled 'SH*T Covered Fat B*TCHS'

The point being is we all have our own likes & dislikes.
The PC was getting used for those few weeks, for word processing and some games. But it wasn't connect to the net, and nothing new was installed on it.
The hard drive is fairly old, about 6 years old, but it's never shown any signs of problems before, and ironically prior to being used in this system (up to about a month before) it was in a powermac running OS X & Ubuntu no problem, without any noticeable data getting corrupt.

The article is clearly talking about the build quality and looks of this particular manufacturers. & yes it does look damn good, doesn't mean you have to do exactly what they say and go out and buy a PC because of this article.

That's an awesome PC, although I wouldn't describe the case as 'minimalist' it's still beautiful in it's own right.
Me personally, I don't game on PC's, my reason for choosing a mac is the OS, it's not about looks or build quality that made my decision to buy a mac (although they are a added bonus), just the OS, which obviously some people would disagree, but hell it's my choice. :)

Simple question, what likely went wrong, and how can i avoid it happening again?
I have a PC and a Mac, I wanted to give my pc a refresh for some awesome windows gaming, PC was reformated and had a fresh install of xp, connected to the net to upgrade to service pack three, and then I took it off the network straight away. a few weeks later it won't boot up! it is just telling me to insert system disk! WTF!!! this is insane. do I really need to do another install of xp! what caused to get corrupt like that!

I think it look very refreshing compared to the other FPS shooters on the market at the moment.
Currently the majority of shooters out there are striving to hit realism, almost a simulation of war. This reminds me of the days where shooters strived to just be bigger and badder than the last. I think comparing the value of xbox live to something like a clock with sentimental value isn't really the same, (I have my grandfathers watch) my watch could be worth as little as a penny to everybody else but me, but to me it's priceless and wouldn't sell it no matter what the price.
Xbox live is a completely different kettle of fish. it all comes down to the individual user. each user has to weigh up how much they are going to use live and then make there own decision.

it's nothing against Forza, it's a perfectly good racing game. but it's simple fact Gran Turismo is awesome :P Gran Turismo was singled out because it's a much stronger brand than Forza,

Yes they decided not to blame Forza because get this!!! it's too realistic! HA! not because Gran Turismo has been around much much longer, sold far more copies and is a much better known brand, but because Forza is too realistic!

It does look almost too good to be true, I hope it isn't on rails! or CGI.
Possibly the art style hides the fact that the textures are low res & low detail? The character models are highly detailed (for wii) but the rest is quite minimal.
I think Red Steel 2 trailer is 10 times better than than Red Steel 1 trailer.
It looks really promising, but it is only a trailer, a highly art directed, tightly controlled trailer from ubi, showing the game at it's best (so far) It's sparked my interested in the game, but I will definitely be looking to read some reviews before I pick up this game, as I do with every other game.
Judging a game by it's trailer and trailer alone is like reading only the back of a gam...

Technological achievement alone doesn't make a great game, (which is why some people are turned off KZ2) I think you need to find the perfect balance between science, art & gameplay. Making a technically impressive game blending with artist impression... and a solid doss of gameplay would be my wet dream. (or maybe not)
I think also what white light was trying to ask, was what games do you consider ground breaking?
It's a really unique console race with the Wii storming ahead to begin with, but beginning to stall now, and looking like it's peaked, the 360 being a fairly consistant seller, and the PS3 starting slow but gaining momentum.
