Spin is revealing some information while concealing over information, simple. these can sometimes include facts / figures, but they do not reveal the entire story. just a carefully selected piece of information.

They only choose a small selection of games as examples. I'm guessing these select games would show Sony favorably.

I'm being disagreed with because people think I'm just trying to put down the fact that this is a pro Sony article. my point is (regardless of ...

anybody who disagree's do you not know what corporate spin is?

Sony do it... MS do it... Nintendo do it... companies in all other industries do it... politicians do it... it happens.

rather than stating these statistics, the general public would be more interested in a price cut.

I'm surprised at the number of disagree's you have received, all this is is corporate spin, simple.

Does what Sony or MS say really result in more console sales? as I'm guessing the general public (the ones who don't surf N4G) don't ever hear any of this nonsense and base there purchase purely on games / advertisement of games etc.

A nice bit of corporate spin there...

now Sony how about a price cut?

That's better written, more factual, and 100 times more intelligently written than the article itself.

obviously you are just showing up the author or the article.

Solid State Hard Drive built into the controller to keep the size of the console down???

Wouldn't this make the controller bigger and much more expensive???

And suggesting that the wii could have no physical media and would only download games off the net... Did the writer not think about the consoles target audience???

There is no link, the sales chart just illustrate how successful Will Wright and EA have been together.

@ DraconicPanda

You're saying the entire general public will have to become 'tech' savy to make sure they keep there computer virus free & back up all their data.

This isn't going to happen,

Also A Burned CD is no where near as good as an original copy, complete with album art properly printed on a full colour press with all the little extras you get inside.

I just believe in choice, Digital Downloads should be available to those who ...

Very already started developing Multi Layered blu ray disks which can hold up to 400GB or Data, and predicted soon they'd fit 1TB on a single disk, all while still be readable by a standard Blu Ray Drive.

If I remember correctly.

@ CRAIG667

good point

However by your definition wouldn't all disk formats count as Digital Versatile Disks?

Blu Ray? HD DVD? DVD? CD? even Floppy Disks are digital and can hold a varity of data?

The point being the 4.7 GB disks & there dual layered partners are read by the same sort of standard laser found in all DVD players have been branded as 'DVD' where as 25GB to 50GB disks developed by sony which are read by the blu diod (or howe...

Surely it would be possible to release DVDs with a similar protective coating that blu ray has?

Just a thought,

6151d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

@below,

Agreed, most likely a typo and meant to read 5.0 to 10.0GB of data, still made me laugh :)

6151d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Unless this is compatible with standard DVD players/drives, this could be too little too late.

Blu Ray is becoming a house hold name now & with multi layered Blu Ray disks going up to 400GB to 1TB in the future (if I remember correctly) Blu Ray will most likely be the format of choice for 5 to 10 years.

That's only my educated guess, only time will tell if I'm right or wrong. :)

@ Foxgod 4.7 GB times 1000 might just be 4.7 TB :P

@ Theoneneo81 I tend to agree with you more,

I would question why is vista so demanding on hardware? I've had OS X Leopard running on a powermac G4 which was manufactured like 10 years ago.

in my opinion an should be invisible in the background, it should be as functional as possible while using as little resources as possible.

the conspiracy lover in me, can't help but wonder if Vista was only such a bloated OS to help push hardware sales? or is it ju...

I ran Windows ME as well, and as far as I can remember it was just your average Windows OS. Not perfect but not terrible, obviously these were just my experiences, and may not reflect the overall opinion of it.

I've got tired of Windows & moved to Mac OS X (mainly because I don't game on PC & I work in design industry so mac is industry standard, makes it easier to work from home) but I don't have a hate for windows, & I'm really curious to try out the new Windows 7 ...

I would be inclined to agree with you,

My educated guess is that Bluetooth 3.0 requires a newer bluetooth chip or hardware of some sorts, not just a firmware update.

Hopefully as a PS3 gamer I'm wrong, because if i am wrong... free upgrade :) and free upgrade for my computer too :) but I won't hold my breath.

End result is who really cares?

If OS X was licensed to work on any hardware manufactured PC, i'd buy a different brand PC with OS X installed, however it isn't so i'm forced to by a MAC, not because it's pretty, but because OS X is industry standard in the design world for a reason.
