Agreed. The thing i've always loved most about the sims is building a house, sometimes this will involve playing properly and earning money to improve the house. other times I was want to just build a house, so I use a cheat to get lots of money.

But for me the problem is when I have cheated and got the perfect house, I have no reason to continue playing that game save. as for me I have nothing left I want to achieve :)

most people would agree that gaming is when put into perspective of life, a waste of time. so much more things we could achieve or do with our free time...

But I am going to say no. we all need some chill time, some down town to relax! there is nothing I like more than chilling out after a stressful day at work, sometimes that'll be out with friends, sometimes that will be with a good movie, or a good game. If I didn't have these means to relax, then I'd probably explode with str...

Quality Post,

Kudus & Lots of Bubbles +++

I have a better understanding of what they mean by monopoly, still doesnt' mean I want a new copy of windows to come bundled with every web browser on the planet! But at least i've got a better understanding of why.

it's stupid because...

why stop with browsers, what about media players... I want to see itunes, winamp and every other media player preinstalled on a new PC /sarcasm

I understand you meant in the future, but with game files sizes progressively getting bigger each generation, I don't think solid state memory will come down quick enough. 50GB solid state memory is way too expensive this generation, next generation disk space could possible be much larger with multi layer blu ray disks, or what ever format MS use. by then 50GB solid state memory might be affordable, but won't be large enough for next generation games, possibly!

Same reason why I...

lol,

I thought all this was common knowledge, RARE were gods back in the n64 days! quality game released after quality game, they were a the ultimate development machine back then!

They definitely have stubbled since moving to Microsoft, but I have faith they will return to the best. They are a quality developer but they are just need to learn how to cater to a different sort of audience at MS.

Other note, any game Rare made which inlcuded a Nintendo c...

I don't think Solid State Storage will become cheap enough to replace dvd/disk based formats. not for next generation anyway.

today a cartridge based on old hard drive technology at 50GB would cost way too much compared to Disk based format, adding at least £10 on top of the price of games, like the N64 days. Blu Rays probably cost 1000 for £10 at trade prices, or something stupid. (not that I know, but just a case)

I think the difference is, during the N64 Rare games were must own classics.

On 360 rare games have been good, but none have really hit the quality which means that they must be owned.

They aren't doing bad, but maybe bad by there standards. but things can still improve. & I hope for even better things from Rare soon. I'd love a Perfect Dark game which sets the standards for console FPS like Goldeneye did back in the day.

my guess would be...

2D platformers are very restrictive as games, the player can only move in 2 dimensions. When the game designer knows this he/she can create a world that is perfect for these situations and not have to worry about the limitless possibilities of movement created by 3D games. This makes it easier on the designer as the gamer can't really go off and explore where they shouldn't be or get lost somewhere they shouldn't be.

Games like GTA work very hard...

I've considered trying WoW recently too, seems like it should be a pretty amazing game, but considering my addictive nature (games like football manager overtake my life and i have the work hard to stop myself playing it) I think I should just pass up Wow for my own health and well being.

Higher Resolution is always better :) but it's not the most important thing, it's what you do with the extra dots on the screen that's important...

there are plenty of games out there that run at 1080p and don't look at as good as Mario Galaxy does at 480p. But just imagine if the wii had similar processing power to PS3/360, then imagine what they could of done with Mario Galaxy with that amount of processing power combined with artist talent / vision.

lol, I realise it was a 360 game first, but Mac's are technically PC's, the section doesn't say 'windows' A Mac section would be pretty quiet, but probably not as quiet as the Gamecube sections :)

YA!!! I Cheer alone...

P.S. why is this in the xbox 360 section, I know there is no Mac section, but Mac is technically a PC so that section would make much more sense.

Counterstrike is awesome, I was wondering the other day with only gaming being so popular with COD & Halo etc why hasn't Valve done this yet!

Running 2GB of RAM here and system still flies running multiple apps of the Adobe CS4 suite along with web browsers & music apps to keep me entertained. :)

Although I know I would benefit from more RAM, but I'm maxed out, I'm using a MacBook Pro, & apple do have a sneaky habit of restricted maximum RAM capacity in there systems, I'm currently maxed out at 2GB, but this is a 3 year old system. I'll be due a new system in a year or 2, and I can't wait to join the 6/8GB grou...

lol good stuff, I love writers who don't do adequate research. I think it's just being british, as a nation we love it when somebody f**ks up, like when we cheer in a restaurant when a waiter drops someones meal. It gives us a little happyness in our cramped overcrowded, pennyless island. :)
