you forgot... 'and ruining the game for everyone else' THAT IS THE PROBLEM
what about the people who have only just bought a PS3 and / or COD4?
I get completely confused by MS pricing structure for Windows 7! admittedly I have no intention to buy it so I haven't read much into it, but it does seem like the most complex and ridiculous pricing structure in the world, there seems to be a million different prices for an upgrade!
Why not a simple one price fits all solution? and what's the difference between the starter edition and home premiums etc? they say something like a net-book user might decide they want to do more th...
I duno, I personally won't give IW a dine of my money for MW2 if they don't fix this! why pay for a game which has already had a price hike, when IW don't treat there current consumers with respect?
My personal opinion is a good developer would continue to support there games against cheaters & hackers for as long as the PS3 servers stay open,
At Least Infinity Ward are apparently working on a fix :D

@ only on playstaychun
why didn't you preorder it at the £17 anyway? if it's a mistake on amazons behalf they would either honour the price and you win :D or they cancel the order and you are no worse off. You can't really loose.
You got to be in it with a chance to win :D
damn... hopefully they honour it, but just have to wait and see.
Everytime my email goes ping... i'm not going to want to see anything from amazon!
fingers crossed :)
don't know where you get your information from...
but in the land of reality it's priced £17.59 inc VAT
@ Menchi
ah I was unaware of this, you destroyed my hopes and dreams! of getting GT5 cheap, but oh well, still worth a try, if it gets cancelled, it get's cancelled, i'll just have to find the next best place to order from.
EDIT
"Amazon.co.uk reserves the right... cancel orders at our discretion. If we cancel an order, it will be without charge to you."
So Amazon are covered if they choose to cancel the order, but fingers crosse...
Ordered, found this about an hour ago, so was ahead of the race ;)
my guess is amazon will probably honour the list price, as it's bad for there reputation to go against there terms & conditions, however worst case scenario, refund.
now they just need to release the damn game.
on another note, this is the first game i've ever preodered & bought without reading a review, but with Gran Turismo, i'm not the least bit worried.
Kojima is a game director like no other, in my opinion he is a close to an artist we have from a games director currently.
I agree with the article, MGS has the best story in a game I have ever experienced, but what I want to know is, if you disagree with the article, what other games have a story which are on par with MGS because in all honestly I haven't experienced them. I'm not say they aren't out there, I want to know what they are so I can go buy them and experience more greatness!
I read it as... the fact is that it was a "great article and well written" not that it was fact that MGS has the best story ever, but I may be wrong...
@ PinkUni
EH?

The first one was pretty awesome, one of my favourite FPS this generation so far, it was a damn good fun game to play.
In my opinion, I prioritise getting this game over MW2, regardless of the price hike by Activision.
Seeing as Bad Company ran perfect on the PS3 (as far as I could see) I see no reason for this one to have issues as it's likely using a similar game engine.
Vista is one of the biggest flops (mainly at launched, it has been improved with service packs now) of the last 25 years easily, would be my number one on that list.
The original Xbox I would not consider a flop, to decide if it is a flop or not you have to put it into context of what MS wanted to achieve with the xbox, and that was to make a name for it self in the gaming industry and get a foot hold. I'm pretty sure MS new all along they weren't going to make money on the origi...
ACTIVISION deserve no credit.
Infinity Ward are the creative force behind modern warefare, Hamoroax changed the way we play music based games. How were Activision involved in all this? they helped fund and publish these projects that's it, they did not create! and all they do once these projects are successful is count there money and say we need a new COD every year!!!! (congrats IW for holding your ground on this, but they get a sub par developer to fill in the gaps) and new Gu...
@ jack_burt0n
agreed... no activision game, apart from MW2 really appeals to me, and seeing as I am still enjoying Modern Warefare 1, I see no reason to pay £55 for the sequel which most likely will be more of the same.
I do feel bad about not supporting infinity ward, they are a quality publisher, and the real talent in this publisher/developer relationship. Activation are just the money which funds the project.
I personally would just like to CONFIRM that I will be spreading a rumour that PS3 slim will DEFINITELY be out next weak along packaged with GRAN TURISMO 5 & GOD OF WAR 3, you can pick this bundle up for just £150, you can count on that because I can CONFIRM that it is only a rumour I am spreading without any insider knowledge what so ever :)
Sometimes I wonder if Sony purposefully leak certain information to generate hype, it gives a certain degree of uncertainty, and people talk about it. Would we have discussed Sony so much in the build up to the conference on the 18th Aug if so much info hadn't been leaked?
It's definitely a possibility, but who knows?
@ Frosty,
I side with you against Lloyd! :) personally i've seen a few sites with rumours posted on the subject, most of which seem to b...
