Now it's all about mixing genres or gameplay elements. We have shooters with RPG elements like in Fallout 3 and Mass Effects. Horror survival with action like in Resident Evil 5. The same old games with elements from other old games that make them feel fresh.

Hawken is simply a mech game with the fast pace gameplay and mechanics of a shooter. It's not a bad thing and feel just right based from the videos. Just a refreshing mix of elements. Although I do find that call...

Same here. I know that everyone hates a rage-quitter but I also hate when you have to finish the whole session only to loose all those points due to a crash. After hours of playing I would like to quit playing anytime I want and not be labelled as a rage quitter for doing so. This is true when playing servers with 500-1000 tickets that would last over an hour. Aside from being tired, who would want to be stuck with a horrible team for 3 hours straight. Letting me keep the points that I've...

I forgot I have this game is in my PC. Damn Kingdoms of Amalur for stealing my time away from defending Europe's escalating war.

Still, the game ran smoothly on my PC pre-patch but it's nice to see the developer is making updates. I do find it funny that the auto-detect setting works nicely with this game since I compared it to id's attempt to use a similar feature with Rage (but locking out the advanced custom options) and failed miserably.

Wow. I haven't seen this kind of game since Dangerous Waters. Worth a peak even though the animations look kinda rough (beta perhaps?).

Valve rarely release sales figures for its digital releases and suddenly it wants to unleash Steambox....

Valve knows. It knows something that other companies don't and now it wields that knowledge with Steambox.

Besides being the only serious player in a supposedly dying platform does have its benefits. Now that the cat is out of the bag (the coming stormy progression from one console generation to a new one and the rise of online distribution) Steambox ...

It's a PC but classified as a console (PC parts, hardware upgrades). I see the logic in Valve's effort to boost PC gaming but I feel sorry for it's competitors (other smaller PC online distributors). Feels like Valve is forcing the other distributors out of the game by making SteamBox exclusively use Steam.

That's NOT what I want to see the PC turned into. It has always been an open platform and having one company keep all form of exclusivity to itself is tota...

Switchblade? Hope it won't get Tritton in trouble with Razer. We know how it turned out for Apple's Ipad.

I thought this was fixed in the second patch. The game stuttered on my PC but it was fine after the patch.

My problem now is that the game won't launch after I migrated to Windows 7 64 bit (my old PC was a Win XP). I read somewhere about how to fix that but failed when I tried to. So now the game is just sitting there, wasting valuable hard disk space.

It's a good game. Not great but good.

Big and sexy?

You can say that again. First time I played The Witcher 2 was when I hooked my PC to the living room's HDTV. Just bought the game and while installing it, thought to myself, let's try to see how it perform on a 1080P screen...

After the first few minutes...it started with a bed scene with Geralt and Triss. Luckily the whole family was out and I haven't connected the sound system yet.

Be warned, X Box 360 gamers... <...

I won't be buying it Day One. I'll be buying it Day One+14 or 30. Will be getting this for the PC and that version will be released later than the console launch...as usual...

I've waited for the game for years so a couple of weeks delay wouldn't matter.

CD Projekt made The Witcher 1 and 2 on the PC first since that's there where they started with. Something familiar and safe. Now they are moving on to the X Box 360 since it's quite similar to the PC. A more efficient and cautious way of getting to know new technology (PC to Console migration). Instead of jumping to a totally foreign tech like the CELL cpu on the PS3, only to constantly bitch how small the RAM is, like what some of the developers did a couple of years back. Maybe late...

After M'soft, id and Epic left PC for the consoles, these East Euro Devs filled in the void. An boy, filled it up real good they did. Just look at their games. Bold, fresh and innovative. Just what id and Epic had done to the PC before going console. So far Tripwire is one of the few American that is able to get my attention- even then its made up of international members.

Since a couple of years ago I see id and Epic as two old men selling the same old game engines for o...

j-blaze's comment is the main reason why I don't like the consoles. Not because of graphical/technical capabilities between them and the PC. I could care less whether my PC can beat the crap out of any consoles. I know that there are bigger and meaner PCs out there that will put mine to shame.

I hate them only when they want everything the PC have and keep it for themselves while barely giving back in return (if look at M'soft that is). It happened with Alan Wake...

Arma 2 was my first experience in an online multiplayer game. It was both great and harrowing. It's great to see a group of people working together to take over a small town. It's painful to have a truck stuck in sand and some lucky insurgents RPGed it to pieces - forcing me and my buddies running for the last 3 miles to our target.

Yeah. It's a great simulator but having to respawn tens of miles from the nearest action require dedication and patience that most ga...

I love Steam and grateful for what it had done for the PC. I also like Origin and would like to what else it can do in the future. It's good to have variety and alternatives.

Some might argue that EA is just a greedy, money-hungry monster for releasing Origin but what about the indie/smaller online services? Are they monsters too?

I personally don't like how Steam is branching out its services to other platforms like the consoles and Apple. I unders...

Yeah. Kinda obvious problems for new tech but something have to start somewhere even if it is an expensive piece of hardware that no one supports. Like the 3D "revolution".

I don't want to look down on technology that seem to be too expensive, irrelevant or too early for the masses. Sooner or later it'll be standard. Don't forget, everyone laughed at Bil Gate and his attempt to promote something called a PC tablet. Most hardware vendors gave up supporti...

Why would the TV vendors now are designing HDTVs with huge resolutions (4K) if they are not thinking of the future? Why do they want to be stuck on the 1080P when they can go further to leave their competitors behind.

I upgrade my PC with the most affordable parts I can find and it's not the super expensive monster that people seem to think of PC all the time. An i5 2500k, 8gb of ram and the cheapest motherboard I can find (no wallet busting multi graphic card mobo for me) and a GTX570. The cpu and gpu are the only parts that cost the most and the selections that I got impressed me a lot compared to the previous parts. Cool even using stock heatsink, power efficient, a tiny bit overkill for the multipl...

How about an Active Defense System like Israel's Iron Shield/Dome for the ground vehicles? Tiny projectiles or lasers that shoot down incoming missles and rockets. Smoke canisters are great in canceling lock ons in BF3 but the enemy can still blind fire into the smoke and still damage the tanks.

Remove the awful DRM and I'll buy it. That is all that's preventing me from buying any Ubisoft games for the last 2 years.
