"Fixing some of these problems can require expensive hardware upgrades, or entire system wipes before working,"
Really?
I do agree with the demo though. DRM and regional availability do apply to my situation.
In fact they're the main reasons I (used to) pirate games. For years I've wanted to buy genuine games but there aren't any stores selling them. I don't mind the regional pricing since they are 'slightly'...
Have fun with The Witcher 2!
I know I did (and with the upcoming updates for the PC,I'll be joining in the fun, again)
LEAVE CDP ALONE, EA.
Or any one of other devs.
I wish I could agree to this logic but I haven't a single Ubisoft game ever since their horrible DRM went active. Except for one that used Steam instead last year.
I'm interested with the latest Ghost Recon and when I heard that it's going to use a ONE time activation, I'm partly sold. The other skeptical part? Ubisoft "lied" about the true nature of From Dust's supposedly one time activation system.
I'll be waiting how it...
The US army is using their game engine for training. They are paying more than the average gamer would ever dream of. Even without making any games for both the consoles and PC, Crytek is still raking in money from licensing alone.
I just did a week ago. Played Atacama for a solid three hours. So much nostalgia and I ruled the helos with my trusty tank.
I felt dirty though: ALL the players are relatively new.
A sci-fi novel (something about Vrill) drove some mad men to think that their race is superior from others. One of those men wrote "Mein Kampf" which drove a whole nation to start a continent wide war.
Millions of people died in half a decade because of those two books! The people who caused those deaths were not children playing video games non-stop. They were men and women who read those books and got caught up in the fantasy.
Let's not forget...
It's already 6 months after BF3 was released and I'm still at Rank 38 or 39. Between work and other games there really hasn't been enough time for me to get up the rank quickly. Especially after there's a lot jet pilots with guided rockets and SOFLAM totting snipers that rendered my favourite weapon, the tanks, useless in a battlefield.
Am I going to use the easy road by buying these unlocks? Nope. With BF Bad Company 2 I've only managed to reach Rank 50 j...
I thought the article was about opening up the console for more user-generated content. But it simply about getting patches and extra content out much more easier and faster for the consoles.
When talking about the PC's freedom and openness the first thing that comes to mind is mods and user-made content. From what I understand from the article it talks about an open console would allow faster content to be released which would then allow more DLCs to churned out.
Most of the images were taken from a high-end PC (Mass Effect 2 requires a high end PC?) so wouldn't that make the PC as the game changer NOW (if by visuals alone) instead of waiting for the next gen? The hardware is readily available off the shelf and its constantly changing.

Play Crysis 1 (PC version, not sure about the X Box 360 version) and throw a grenade into a smoki...
We're paying for those games so it's our right to complain and bitch.
Do reviewers even pay for their review copies?
Great for them (...us, maybe).
I'm a lefty but I picked up the mouse for the first time with my right hand. Have been a right-hand-mouse-using-lefty ever since.
Unfortunately I used joysticks for flight sims with my left hand...have to re-teach my right hand to use the G930 flight stick.
"It really seems to me that the only people who would complain about DRM are those who won’t buy the game anyway..."
Really? I beg to differ.
Last month I ordered Wargame European Escalation without checking out the DRM. It wasn't until during the unboxing when the realization set in and sense of dread fell on me.
Then, I was actually jumping with joy when I saw the Steam logo at the back of the box. It's a form of DRM but ...
Ahh..the Rachni...When I first saw the options of what I should do with the Rachni Queen I was rather excited. I was dreaming that Shepard would appear with a huge Rachni army with him/her personally sitting on a huge one...
Sigh...that's what you get for dreaming big.
If they wanted to stick with their story, fine. Nothing wrong with that.
But they really shouldn't have gave gamers the false sense of freedom or that here might be something more for all their effort. With all those moral choices that the game presented over the course of 3 games, one would expect that those would significantly affect the end.
I guess the story was subscribing to the "fate is set in stone" kind of . No matter what you do, it...
"But which games requires 100 different buttons?"
followed by
"...mmos"
You've just answered your own question there. Thanks.
I've played Assassin's Creed 2 and yes the kbm controls were horrendous. Why do we have to hold down so many other buttons to activate some other action? If only the keyboard has more buttons so that those actions can be distributed among them...
I'v...
Wait...didn't a DICE rep said in a Twitter response after everyone's bickered about the PC and X Box 360 patch delay that they DIDN'T need need the certification for the PC patch? The delay was caused by some last minute bugs that suddenly appeared on the PC and X Box360.
Not they are saying it's the certification that's holding the PC patch back.
It said so right here :

I agree that cliches are bad. But I don't find bullet time as that offensive in games since it's a gameplay mechanic that help you in the game. Bullet time in movies are simply to make the action sequences look more cool and much more dramatic- usually have nothing to do with superhuman ability. The humans in the Matrix universe are supposedly able to manipulate bullet time but they are still terrified and tried to run whenever an Agent appears.
As for DMC4, there are...
I would like some sort active defense system for tanks. Maybe like DARPA'sIron Curtain or Rafael's TROPHY anti-rocket/missle systems for vehicles. Smoke grenades are great against SOFLAM and Javelins but nearly useless against a hovering Cobra that can wait for you to get out of the smoke before resuming to pound you with rockets.
A slow moving jet (very slow to a point it should've stalled but it didn't) could kill a tank in just one rocket pass. Not to menti...
HD remakes are also recycled games.
