It would've been safer and make more sense for DICE to actually delay the PS3 patch (DON'T tell anyone that it is finished), wait for the other two patches to be finished and THEN announced the released date. It'll be great for their reputation when they are able to patch the game for all platforms on the same day and none of the gamers will bitch about delays.
What have they achieved by making one patch to come out earlier for one platform than the other? They go...

The game developers have been boasting about 10GB RAMs, power efficient cpus, ATI cards for the next gen but the publishers...just kept quiet. Sure was a long time ago. A HD remake for the consoles might be appropriate but for a PC...it's kinda strange. You already have a playable game in the first place regardless of the graphical quality.
Half of my team of 16 were carrying Iglas but none of us could take down the enemy while playing Wake Island the other day. Me and my friend used to care and get all excited about Diablo 3. Then the delays kept repeating every year as I'm exposed to other RPGs out there. Torchlight, Fallout 3, Dragon Knights Saga, Neverwinter Nights all occupied my attentions.

HD have been promoted on the PC long before current consoles ever seen those two letters. In my case I don't like 3D since I'm already wearing glasses. My first 3D movie was Tron Legacy and I had to put the 3D glasses over my regular ones.
