One of the reasons they went belly up is because they decided to develop for very unpopular formats (SegaCD/Mega Drive). I fortunately got to experience Popful Mail, Vay (which I heard is similar to the anime Escaflowne). I believe they also did Elemental Gearbolt and Magic Knight Rayearth. I miss them. :(

I couldn't agree with you more, FarEastOrient. Perhaps that is a decision Namco is regretting now (or at least releasing same-day on both the 360 and PS3). I don't understand why, but RPGs rarely sell well on the 360 unless they are in some part a shooter. It most certainly isn't because the quality of these RPGs is poor (I've heard from 360 users how great Tales of Vesperia and Lost Oddyssey are).

I for one will purchase Tales of Vesperia should it come to...

I've been wanting this game for a long time now. I'm beginning to like Atlus and NIS very much this generation, especially since they take a gamble bringing either unusual experiences or financially risky ports to us folks over in the States.

More like Microsoft HOPES 3D won't take off, simply because it will provide yet another attractive aspect of the competition that they cannot easily and readily match. Sony's investment in the PS3 has already made blu-ray a success and they have a venue to easily push for the adoption of 3D as the norm, which obviously is going to take awhile in this economy.

I'd love to see what Visceral could do on the PS3 with a new exclusive IP (never going to happen, but let's humor fantasy). Of course, they'd need to build a new engine from the ground up. Not impressed with the one they've used for Dead Space and Dante's Inferno. I've finally been playing through Dead Space and noticed some pixelation worse than PSone generation graphics, as well as a framerate that chugs like the little engine that could in spots. Still...damn I ...

Other than the obvious fanboy spin of some disreputable internet bloggers (OH FWEE XBAWKS!), people are talking about Kinect, but mainly about how laggy and inaccurate it is. Not sure that's something to be proud of. Good luck finding a use for Kinect with anything other than Wii-too shovelware.

No self-respecting racing enthusiast will pass on a premium driving wheel for holding our arms up in the air as though we're holding a steering wheel. How about acceleratio...

We knew what to expect from Move, especially seeing some of its product during GDC. It showed up at E3 and proved itself effective, precise, and with little to no lag (you'll get there, Tiger Woods). The press loved it. Similar to what we've seen to a Wii-mote, but on steroids. Nothing more needed to be said.

Microsoft made big promises for this past E3, and all eyes were on the hyped Kinect. Old concept, new tech, promising unseen experiences. It was the toast,...

Late last year, Wizards of the Coast announced a PC and PS3 version for 2010. Earlier this year, they restated this title for a Summer PC release and a Fall PS3 release. I sent an e-mail to Wizards asking if it was still coming, but have yet to hear from them. Lack of deck building aside, I really want this game and hope to see it soon.

They rehash movies worse than a certain company milks the tit of an aged plumber (at least those games are consistently good), especially classics and Asian cinema. When I found out they were going to remake Escape from New York, I bet I was even more pissed than Kurt Russell. Coens are remaking True Grit. Pretty soon we'll just have an ocean of shitty cash-in remakes and a population so fucking retarded they won't realise there are far more spectacular originals. Hollywood has ru...

I came here for two things: kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum.

I laughed my ass off when he went into a bank with a shotgun and just started blasting! Can you imagine how the non-aliens felt when they witnessed that? lol

Solid Snake taken from Escape From movies.
Snatcher took from Terminator the Bioroids, and from Blade Runner the flying cars, the city and Harrison Ford's character inspired Gillian Seed.
Lethal Weapon's Murtaw and Riggs inspired the two guys from Policenauts.

I remember seeing a comparison with photos on a forum, but I can't seem to find it to use as citation.

There are too few artsy-fartsy games and an over-saturation of First Person Shooters. If any genre is in need of a boost it's Point-and-Click and RPGs (most specifically, JRPGs).

We know your "game" is a scam, so don't even try to fool us into thinking otherwise. I don't know if there is a single producer out there who isn't aware of how much of a money pit this is. I feel sorry for the gullible bastard who doesn't.

If that's the case, then the original Dead Rising, Mass Effect 1-3, Gears of War 1-3, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Ace Combat 6 should go to the PS3 and you wouldn't mind, since they are currently 3rd party exclusives owned by their respective companies. Easy money, right?

The reveal trailer where it shows both Xbox 360 - Xbox Live and PlayStation 3 - PSN at the end says otherwise.

United States of America is quite guilty of bringing tragedy to other nations around the world (especially for resource, financial and territorial gain. It's also responsible for bringing tragedy to its own native people (Native Americans throughout the continent as well as the Innuit of the Alaskan state). Substantial evidence and testimony even points toward 9/11 being an inside job. Still, the U.S. isn't alone in bringing grief to the people of the world, as civil war exists thr...

That was quite the passionate display of nerd rage, but who and what exactly were you referring to? You introduced talks of fanboyism and exclusive games when no one above you had mentioned it. This reveals quite a bit about you.

Edit: Yes, in all my time lurking N4G I have seen my fair share of articles referring to exclusives being overhyped, especially Halo 3, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 and the ...

As far as I know, the only people hyping this game up are PC diehards and Crytek themselves. Personally, I'm more interested in what RAGE has to offer. Gotta love John Carmack!

Unless it has been canceled, Frozenbyte said a port was coming to the 360. I just hope they bring the free DLC over to the console version.

While not my choice, MotorStorm Apocalypse looks fucking awesome! I can't pick a favorite, but I must say I am equally excited for Killzone 3, inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Sly Cooper Collection, Twisted Metal and Dead Space 2. Oh how great it is to be a gamer! Especially PS3!

Now...if I could only find out when/if we'll ever get that port for Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planewalkers...screw the SOE tactics one.
