1. Resulting in BluRay, a technology in which Sony heavily invested, winning the HD format race. What a terrible decision!
2. Bad decision, but not on the grounds of what you think. The 3DS was a bad decision as well.
3. Agree
4. Not a bad decision. Again, technology that is in Sony's interest to break through to the mainstream market. Problem is that it's too soon after BluRay.
5. Yeah, cause getting hacked is a business decision.
Fina...
With the exception of the first item, none of the items on the list were "bad business decisions". All of them resulted in a higher profit margin for the company in question, which makes them sound business decisions.
I mean honestly, do you really believe EA cares if you logged 30 hours or 100 hours in Battlefield 3? You already bought their game, they have your money, it doesn't make a difference to them in terms of business if you play it 1000 hours or 2.
@Carl
"YET...they go to EA, a publisher who known to restrict you the most when making games for them and will end up running your studio into the ground.
Dosen't make sense..."
Unless you introduce a new variable - What if EA does not restrict the developer? Suddenly it makes sense.
Accounts get hacked every day, regardless of what network they are on. This is usually the result of poor account security on the user's part, or phishing.
As for the article, that's not exactly a virtual smackdown. The guy sounds like a child in his comments, and the hacker probably couldn't stop laughing all the way to the bank.
Lol always blew into the cartridge and the console. The new generation of kids have no idea what they missed!
Edit:
They only used two copies of NES games? To do an experimental study, you have to have far more than two samples for the results to mean anything at all.
So what work did you do at Activision? Can we find your name in the credits of games?
"Personally I would never sign a contract that tried to tell me what I could and couldn't do after I left a company"
Well, that's a problem. Every company has trade secrets, and you are legally bound to not reveal those to any other company pretty much indefinitely.
"And very few of them get taken to court."
How many employees that revealed a company's trade secrets can you name that weren't taken to court...
"you are no longer bound by the companies edict"
Wrong. NDAs and Trade Secrets extend far beyond the end of your contract with a company. By law you are not allowed to breach these contracts, regardless of employment status with the company that holds them.
How about Sony, Microsoft? They closed a lot of studios as well. Have you ever considered that the studios may have been closed because they under-performed, both critically as well as financially?

Wow, so mature.
"Samsung TV's have a shelf life of 6-12 months"
That indicates you've owned your TV for less than a year, otherwise shelf life would've been longer. The warranty covers any manufacturing defects, and unless you bashed some object into the TV causing the line, it is covered by the warranty.
Any problem that occurs on its...
"to counteract that they release a NON-needed super slim ps3... "
Have you ever heard of "Cost Cutting"? It means reducing a product's features to that which the average consumer actually uses to reduce manufacturing costs and increase income. They gain more money than they lost by releasing the new slim.
Pretty much discredits the rest of your argument.
@InTheLab
That's funny, I've had my Samsung TV for 6 years, and no matter how hard I look, I can't find a fat ass line down the side.
If that happened in less than a year, it's a manufacturing defect. You still have warranty, why haven't you traded it in?
Just started Borderlands 1. Not much happened so far, killed this random boss called 9 tails or something. It's pretty decent so far though, I expect it to improve when the story actually starts developing. So far it's more like a tutorial.
Framerate isn't great on Ps3 though, it runs a bit slow in splitscreen. Hope that's better with BL2 if I ever get it.
Drill it out if you burr it.
Generally you should always take care when picking the screwdriver, regardless of the screw you're trying to remove. As a rule of thumb, never attempt to remove a (possibly) tight screw with a screwdriver that is either too large or too small.
" YLOD issues being fixed"
... That's not a hardware issue. It may occasionally be a manufacturing issue, but generally it is a user issue - if you don't take proper care of your electronic equipment, it will break. If it were a hardware issue, it would be far more widespread. Alas, it's not.
The article is actually really interesting, and doesn't whine about the term being offensive. You should read it.

That argument is only valid if the person doesn't already own a Playstation 3. Whilst Wii-U is cheaper if the person in question has no console, if the person wants the functionality of the Wii-U and already has a Ps3, all that is needed is a Playstation Vita, which is cheaper than the WiiU and doubles as a handheld gaming device.
Sikbeta
You misunderstood what I said. Sony is looking to stabilize their business, which is the reason for releasing the new slim console.
This doesn't mean that they don't push the brand at all, it just means that the new slim console isn't built to push the brand, hence why there's no price drop.
When I said expand, I was referring to 'expanding beyond their current rate', not expanding in general. As far as gener...
Wouldn't mind getting this one if I could find it cheaply. I enjoyed the original a lot, though I'm already to get Dead or Alive 5 so it'd be too many fighting games in a short period of time..
You talk as if they don't already know that web address... If they found N4G, I can almost guarantee you that they found YouPorn, or similar sites, as well.
