I imagine they'll save it for a Direct when it's within a couple of months of release. Most of their Wii U games will most likely be ported to the Switch. Doesn't make sense not to. I'm hoping for a HD Director's Cut of Skyward Sword personally.
The reason there hasn't been a Prime game in 10 years is that all the leads (art, programming and direction) all left Retro studios shortly after Metroid Prime 3. The people that all worked on the games no longer are with Retro. I for one am quite excited to see a Japanese take on the Prime series.
The lead art director, programmer and designers all left Retro after Prime 3. The major heads that made the Prime series are gone, which is why it's been over 10 years now since a release.
Morrowind!
That's all handled by whatever company is releasing and publishing the game in the West. Japanese game companies have no control over English voice acting. Western publishers handle translations, text, cultural changes, dubbing audio, etc.
I suppose developers are all lying then when they say that BoTW has given them inspiration, and that the game design is brilliant. They're all just saying it for no reason at all but to circle jerk, right?
No, they asked for a ransom. That's not someone stealing files because they couldn't wait.
Well the 360 and PS3 were supported for about a year after the release of the current consoles though. It takes time to transition, and the 3DS still sells very well, both hardware and software.
Maybe not cheaper, but with less development costs, we'll see more games, and companies potentially taking bigger risks with IP.
Huge deal. That's saving an incredible amount of money on labor over an extended period of time.
Sonic 06 was a broken, terrible, horrible game. He's trolling.
Well, technically, doing that is stealing and illegal. It's just really, really easy to do so. Doesn't make it okay. I believe that the games should be very cheap, but they still have every right to charge for games that they own, especially when it one's take alot of work to get them running perfectly on new hardware. Note that I said perfectly.
Anyone who loves rpgs owes it to themselves to try to play the original on Wii. It's one of the best games I've ever played, by a huge margin.
Related fact: The original Xbox was initially imagined as a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast, and was supposed to be fully compatible with Dreamcast games until the plan fell through.
Yeah, if you're stealing them. That's an argument for a different day though.
I'm definitely not most people, but I've wanted a powerful handheld/hybrid console since the Wii U released, and I haven't been disappointed with my Switch at all since I got it on release day. It's a pretty amazing little device.
I think the Switch has the potential to outsell the 3DS in Japan in its lifetime. Once there are new iterations, price drops, and Pokemon/Monster Hunter/Dragon Quest/Animal Crossing games for it, everyone's going to want one.
For real. I have a Zmax Pro, and with the phone case, it's the same size as my Switch. My Switch dock isn't even connected to my TV, and I pretty much use it exclusively in handheld mode. Show me any device with a battery, attachable controls and a touch screen, and I'll tell you that it's a handheld device. For how small of a device it is, the Switch has some pretty amazing performance.
He was a great man. Rest in Peace.
The Metroid Prime trilogy are some of the greatest titles in the history of video games though. Just knowing that it's going to happen, I was jumping for joy. It shows that Nintendo is planning on giving its all with the Switch, which is something that people have still been unsure of. Returning franchises that have been missing for 10 years, new development studios, and a Pokemon game that's finally coming to a mainstay console. It's fantastic news for anyone that owns or plans t...
