Look at their Gears of War 5 "analysis" which was exposed as not an analysis, but them reading nearly word for word what they covered in an interview with the developers, even repeating exactly what the developers told them. There is a video series that exposed them with that game for not being as particular in that analysis like they were on many other games with top notch graphics. After being embarrassed by it they gave petty responses until a few videos later where they owned up...

I mean, when journalist integrity is at an all time low and clickbait and edginess is at an all time high..

I know someone that reviews games for various sites and prefers smaller outlets for freedom and flexibility. Almost every author bounces ideas off their supervisor. So, it was planned. I bet it went something like this.

Author: "Maaan, this games boring me(5 hours in), it's not my kinda game. I should just write about how I don't wanna finish it hahaha".
Supervisor/fellow writer: "Hahaha.. Oohh, brrooh! We would make more money off of clickba...

We've had terrain scanning for quite a long time. Really, the issue with trying to adapt all this to a game is it may not end up working all that well for balancing and fun purposes.

It would be super awesome though if like you said, an arcade type game could work with this. Like, imagine a battle royale using the geometry from assets like this, and randomly selecting any city or urban terrain existing in these massive maps to drop players in.

Neither is ignoring that MS shut down Lionhead and failed to guide them in the right direction, trying to make Bungie churn out Halo after Halo. They didn't even want to do Reach. They did it out of good faith that possibly they'd have freedom to start another IP afterward. Obviously, we all know they ruined Rare with the acquisition. The studio is all new faces and none of what made Rare games what they were. They were made to create avatars and variou...

I've been hoping for a higher end Switch. Maybe 1080p screen, make it OLED to save room, battery life, and to look much nicer, more performance, bigger battery, and expand the screen size in the same body so the bezels are smaller

Yeah.. But, if it was MS laying people off you would agree it was necessary as a business not to waste resources and money.

Except, this is restructuring and people are re-interviewing due to the facility changes to decide what team they will be working on and what projects from here on.

How boring to fake drama over a corporation that does good by gamers and has the highest rated studios to work at. We see that you come into articles with an opinion tha...

It's like saying someone on steroids isn't cheating. Mouse and keyboard accuracy is far better for shooters. On Rainbow Six: Siege. Tachanka is basically the worst operator on PC, but is a god on console because players can't quickly aim fast enough to down him before he does behind his defensive turret. Now, the console game is balanced around data based on the average which is played by controllers. It's not balanced around mouse/keyboard.

There are so many games where players loot and it encumbers them or their equipment slots become limited. This game simply shows the equipment you're carrying and the weight being similar to the Souls games where it slows you down, but taken steps further due to the geography and gameplay elements.

This "delivery man" thing is common place in tons of games. This just doesn't hide it. The delivery guy campaign is played out.

What about t...

No they don't, and everyone is eager to compare the positives of competitors and find a way that it works the same way for MS. You wonder why they are in competitors shadows and it's not just because of what they do, but because of these comparisons trying to make them look equal.

Bungie originally developed on Mac because they liked the platform more. Marathon was a notable game they made and Halo was them putting all their cards on the table. It was well in develo...

You have no idea how compression works. The algorhithms used compress flatter areas of color and shape. That way you don't see super noticeable aliasing around the edges of objects/shapes in the video. Textures are incredibly washed out. Play a PC game at 1080p. Now play at the resolution of 720p for instance. It's blocky and aliased. But, now with compression it not only downscales the image in many cases. But, it applies a ton of compression which ...

I agree with this, but idk why cutscenes would pose a problem. I think they would have increased immersion into the story by seeing your characters expressions and all the visible traits that you've given them from creation elements to enhancements and what they've become due to your actions. I wish we'd have ray-tracing to see our reflection in any shiny materials.

I hope we get perks like placing drones/cameras and hacking theirs that would allow viewing our c...

Yeah. It was some dumb licensing thing they did where they couldn't have the app on other platforms via download. I think Microsoft struck a deal with them for exclusivity and Netflix bypassed it early with the physical route

You miss the point entirely. Read the context. We know what PR is. But, that is the point of what everyone has been saying. It is *only* PR and nothing else. We have no historical evidence or patterns to say that they have a confident future. Their deliverance has been low quantity and poor quality with few exception. Sony and Nintendo back up their PR. It's not just fluff and buffering lacking platforms. We don't care about their new studios unti...

Just because something rarely changes doesn't mean it requires change. There have been updates to the PS4 UI, but they never made a terrible UI to begin with. The PS3 UI was fantastic. Extremely simple, low clutter, little menus within menus. XBox 360 copied the PS3 UI to dump the blade style menu. All XBox did on their version was swap the categories and submenus on the X and Y axis so it was basically and inverted PS3 UI, but with more categories and menus t...

A lot of apologetic "news" sources only correlate innovation with failed/failing products. They are blind to it when good companies with successful products are around. But, if people haven't already noticed. Microsoft LOVE to have every little thing they do be connected to being "innovative". EVERYTHING. They are 100% desperate to have anything they do be seen in that spot light and take off like the iPod, Walkman, iPhone, Netflix, Tesla, etcetera. They're trying ...

If they just updated the regular model with a more power efficient Tegra chip then I don't think it will be phased out any time soon, and having a Lite, regular, and pro version may be a bit much. Though, it would be very interesting to see a premium option that is easily distinguished from the other models. Amoled screen that is also bigger with slimmer bezels, higher resolution, bluetooth, camera, built in stylus, etc.
