For the sake of context. You really don't have to point that out.

What? That's external software that records and ports animation data from mocap into their modelinganimation software. It's not a game engine feature.

The game engine has not improved. The hardware it runs on has.

Then what's with anyone making new engines? Why do that at all? You can get more out of it but you certainly gain benefit out of an all new engine. You can design it around multithreading and different architecures or API whereas updating an older one will only do so much for new hardware since working with older code requires even more updating to be done to other things. It can get complex to where further and further updating gets to be too much work and creating a new one is simpler. ...

The game features much more confined spaces and the combat is totally designed around First Person, including the optional augmentations and enhancements you may use, which includes ocular upgrades which would be null and void if you had a third person camera to convey such information such as seeing around cover and wider field of view.

Those other games don't feature genre-defining combat or gameplay. GTA and RDR have poor fighting mechanics. They do work. But, they ...

Cyberpunk is heavily based around upgrading your characters abilities, strengths, and awareness.

Having a 3rd person perspective already adds a sort of god mode level of awareness and safety, whereas in 1st person they have tons of options to add tools for detecting enemies through cover that otherwise would have been seen with a camera hovering over your shoulder that is able to see over cover.

There will also be tons of cramped spaces and narrow passa...

Extremely wrong. Only 4 Bungie employees work at 343i last I checked. They are all regular employees with no leadership position. Just task completionists. Aside from one that works a leadership role in PR and media rather than development related material. Well, I hope he didn't push the MC VS Locke campaign.

The difference is Microsoft hasn't had notable first party studio games on par with Sony or Nintendo for about a decade. They needed these studios a very very long time ago. They should have addressed the problems as it became an issue. Not drag it on for 10 years giving us bread crumbs and insulting words of wisdom. They waited this long and now they decide to just buy their way back in with studios they have little to no relationship with aside from licen...

@AngelicIceDiamond

Their buying of studios is because they have been lacking the commitment to create their own for a decade now. They've driven studios into the ground and eventually disbanded them and projects that didn't work out under their supervision. They have had years and years to build studios. Sure, buying established studios right now is smart in a business perspective. But, bad for the consumer. We are the consumers. So, I'm not going to babble on ...

They literally wanted Bungie to do nothing but make Halo and they made Rare develop Kinect games and avatars.

No one literally means hands off means, 100%, hands off. The context of it means that generally Sony studios get free-reign with little oversite. Nintendo studios aren't as vocal or known individually but we see their creative freedom in the products themselves.

I don't know how we're going to progress from one game to the next and what materia and items we will miss out on. Part of the amazing thing with the original was finally leaving Midgar and exploring the world with great pacing and unlocking things or simply just seeing what's what, and leveling up materia to become stronger was so great.

Action games can only go so far. Turn based seems simpler, but that's what allows it to go so much more in depth and to ...

XBox has been slacking for 10 years. There is no different dream here. Microsoft still controls XBox. They only fired XBox's scape goat CEO who was too forward on Microsoft's strategy about controlling consumers product ownership and selling services. Phil is pushing that same vision but slowly. The box is still lacking in software, big franchises are failing and reviewing worse and worse, we lack new IP's that are high quality, they worry entirely about their image and advertisem...

This is Playstation versus XBox. Not Sony versus Microsoft. Keep that in mind. Microsoft's finances mean nothing about XBox's actual success. As can already be seen by still lacking substance and direction after almost 10 years.

Do you think it's okay for Microsoft to be comfortable? It's clear that this is their goal rather than providing industry leading games and content that they just want the constant influx of money through services and accessories. ...

They lack AAA games and new IPs that are enticing for a mass audience. They continue to not show game play and have boring cgi trailers from first party

Sure. Or just a traditional portable. Who knows. But, mobile processors are more capable and able to handle nearly the same experience now when it comes to the game scale, mechanics, and engine compatibility. All this is possible merely with lower graphical settings, whereas before we had to use other architectures more suitable to a handheld with less resources available for porting and without game engines designed to be interchangeable on these other platforms. Now this is all common.

I think when PS6 comes about that mobile hardware will handle high fidelity gaming and we may just get a portable launch to coincide with that home console, with lower graphical settings of course. It could come with a dock to transfer game libraries with each other

It's funny that a game devoid of meaningful content, lush environments, graphical fidelity, innovation, thoughtful controls, or attention to detail would release an "extra" edition. It's not extra if it's been missing many things. Just getting closer to filling the pot.

So, we should ignore a population of peoples opinions despite reasoning and explanation. While heeding your opinion specifically. That's called bias.

Epic Store in no way benefits the customer. The store is there for the consumer. I'd like developers to get a larger cut but I'm not going to a featureless store with poor security and without a longterm profitability plan. They got a ton of money from their parent company to push a store. Their business model isn't figured out. It's just to disrupt Steam as much as they can until they have a plan. Their money flexing and anti-consumer choice bullying to get attention isn'...

That's a perfect world you're asking for. It should be documented because behavioral patterns are important in a work environment. Just trying to settle it 1 on 1 with a leadership positioned person doesn't stop the behaviors towards other people, and the person is talking of someone else being shoved to begin with. He should settle confrontation between two other people by getting in the middle of it when he isn't qualified for counseling i...

Some kinds of people are corny. That's a risk of being or looking different.

You'd think someone that tries to write in some capacity would understand not judging a book by its cover. Same goes for characters in books. He doesn't have to look the way his personality is. Bikers aren't generic bad attitude people either. What are you talking about? He can't have manners without wearing a collar...
