Can't be or can be?
Ray-tracing is a method for multiple applications. You can choose to only ray-trace characters, only environments, you can choose not to ray-trace reflections. Ray-tracing does not mean the entire world has to be ray-traced for it to be supported. You can also use ray-tracing for sound, not that it is called ray-tracing. But, you use the same physics involved with ray-tracing to simulate sound bounce and the variation that i...
I think op misunderstands ray-tracing support as meaning everything is ray-traced or they're lying. Like you said. It can be just characters, certain items in the environment, it can be just reflections, and it can be just lighting/shadows. Ray-tracing is there, but we need to read what they are using ray-tracing for.
Because, if it's called ray-tracing then it is that. It's a term that can't be misconstrued. It's not like 120 motion clarity rate or whatever TV's have on their box when they have 60 refresh rate. The only thing to clarify is what is being ray-traced. Lighting? Shadows? Reflections?
I was tempted to buy it during the sales. Heard good things about it and that it was underrated.
I love PvE. I really enjoyed Resistance 2's 8 player co-op missions. If this is anything like that this will be fun. The only issue is sometimes these games lack replayability or an endgoal/reason to keep playing missions. Dungeon Defenders was another great PvE game back in the day, before DLC imo.

He lead them into the "dump" with the XBox One. He was in charge of the european studios, Rare and Lionhead for example, and made one shut down and the other all the og members left the same time that he eventually got promoted to being in charge of all their gaming studios and pushed everyone to focus on Kinect, especially his European studios he was already in charge of. The last half of 360s lifespan when no games were coming, it was his fault. ...

You're overthinking it. Simply said, a review for a genre should be objective and an experienced reviewer of those genres should be used. I'm not saying they should be totally biased for a genre they're going to review, leading to favorable reviews. I described someone that should be into the genre and like it. To be experienced in it and knowledgeable about it. We need experienced reviewers of a genre for a fair review based on their total experience...
I'm wondering what scenes you find "overly dramatic". It's also story driven so if that's not your thing then it is what it is.
I do agree in a way about the climbing. Not so much climbing segments themselves. But, I'm a freakin god. I have to kick those shields off to expose convenient spots to latch onto, or I just can't jump to areas even though I know he could. Not even boost Atreus up and grab those shields. I understand the game design w...
@coolbeans
That's exactly how objectivity works in a professional environment that is supposed to judge and dictate the quality of something. Let's say engineering. Do you hire an artist to review engineering? What about food and what type of food? Do you get someone to review steak when they're a vegan food reviewer? What about coffee reviews from someone that only ever drinks tea? I'm sure some fun reads and the opinion of an outsider can be interesting. B...
No.
In the myths he is an old man. In disguise he makes himself another old man when he chooses to.
A lot of mythology portrayed the older looking the exterior of a god also means they are actually more powerful. This is why the mightiest gods, or god of gods are so old looking. They are more wise. They are a more powerful god. In many mythologies you will find that several gods are no longer far off in terms of age from their fathers, but their father l...
Stay on topic.

You can cry while pleading positivity. This is what's going on when people ignore factually good criticisms over bugs, glitches, performance issues, and lack of overall effort because they know they have an addictive formula. Fun, fun, fun, fun. Didn't say I don't have fun with it. But, issues are fun-killers. They make you put the game down or distract from the engagement/immersion you have. Look at Skyrim. Seriously fun game. But, the bugs are notorio...
A bit harsh, but I certainly agree that defending something because "it's not supposed top tier graphics" or "it's not meant to be cinematic" or whatever because it's "fun" is ridiculous. Even if I did have fun with a game, that is zero excuse. They make insane amounts of money.
They are holding back because people keep giving them money. There is no other franchise that they come up to and approve this lack of quality. Imagine how...
Name one single person that actually said that "battlefield could outperform call of duty if Sony owned the franchise".
Thinking they could simply just take down CoD even with access to better talent is like saying any brand could make a better nacho flavored chip than Dorito's, better cola than Coke, better candy bars than Nestlē, etcetera. Those brands are so big. You could make better products but you don't have the recognition even if you have higher quality. It doesn't work like that at all. They have tried to compete many times and the consumers voted with their wallets. They want CoD. They w...

Your deceptive wording doesn't matter in the real world.
Nope. Both Microsoft and Sony do timed exclusives and timed DLC. So quit inferring that buying Activision is some sort of "Sony had it coming" BS. If you are insulting one party for something like you have a point but ignore that both parties do it then you're being deceptive. Next you'll tell me you aren't "inferring" or "never said that" b...
Indeed. After 3rd gen I was uninterested. I tried Black/White and was meh about it. X and Y really revitalized my interest but I never finished it. This seemed interesting because of the freedom and the co-op world sharing but I am still urked of how ridiculous some Pokemon designs get. I began to play Scarlet but the cheesey fan fiction level cringe dialogue and frame drops are really annoying. I put motion smoothing on my TV and it does make it appear like it's 60fps and very much impro...
Not that I agree with buying Battlefield or EA... but I always thought that if Battlefield did something like the Musou games and did a KillZone or Resistance Battlefield game it would be insane.
@JayRyu
They both pay for third party exclusives. This is a tired group of statements as if MS is putting Sony in their place or something. They both do it. No. Sony isn't interested in buying up all the third parties or has shown that even if they could. Again, they bought Bungie despite not wanting them for future exclusives. Most Sony acquisitions are well rounded and are based on hunting young talent, purchasing devs that they had cultivated for years and decades, a...
There wasn't a bunch of specialized cores unless you mean they're all equally built for the same purpose. All the Cell did was essentially give us high core count CPU benefits in a smaller and cheaper package that had insane flexibility of what it could do that a normal CPU could not. The downfall was programming, the only downfall. The Cell was not so cut and dry for scheduling tasks and optimizing for. Everyone was used to x86, and even though the 360 was also PowerPC architecture l...
