A killer app is when a product is superior to rival products. Being a highly opinionated and hype-trained media-orienting gaming business, killer app is a terribly misused word.
It may not be a killer app for PC, but for X1 it seems to be considered that, mainly due to not being on the rival platform and lack of shooters. 360 already has a lot of shooters built up so we would have to wait till sales come out for that platform to see how it is established. It's not a kill...
It won that year because less graphically intense games came out in 2012, and because of popularity when it came to public votes. It isn't near the best graphical game from the systems entire lifetimes.
In most best of graphics for 2012 Assassins Creed 3 or FarCry 3 won, and for good reason.
Ryse isn't looking the best. It might seem that way but it has less action on screen, more static objects, 900p at a stuttering 30fps, is very linear, and is ver...
Even if they lack DirectX11 effects like tessellation they would use DirectX11 because it's more efficient.
@Thatlalala
Things are changing now. Halo and Call of Duty had been in MLG because of popularity. That popularity has shifted this time. Call of Duty is losing popularity, but still has enough to be in MLG, but as for Halo it is losing popularity and that happens even further as people play other games that are already out and will be out before a...
Clearly a ripoff of Call of Duty Ghost II.
@whybag
Read. IF the resolution is sharp. If it's low resolution it obviously looks terrible. Anti-aliasing is meant for lower resolutions. Higher resolutions it has far less of a noticeable difference. The higher the resolution the lower the difference AA makes. If my resolution is already high enough for a smooth image then there is little point, in my opinion, for anti-aliasing.
Furthermore, I started the message off with "Personally", inferr...
Personally, I don't like anti-aliasing unless the resolution is low. I like jaggies IF the resolution is crisp and sharp. I think full 1080p is the better option. The letterbox means less to see and the UI taking up more of the main scene.
It would be a better test if it weren't Java-based. Java is heavier and not near as efficient as regular code.
@caseh
So you think it was wrong to ask a simple question because jerks insulted you for it? What the heck do you do for a game that just came out, thus having no online tutorials? There are no stupid questions. There are only stupid people. I have seen kids online that tell others to look things up rather then explain it themselves simply because they just don't know much about it themselves, despite having the know-it-all attitude. It's getting to be like snobby ric...
@Minato-Namikaze
Exactly! That's what I had been thinking is they will probably announce this version after it launches on current platforms but they will change content and the name to establish it as a different product.
The point of this isn't whether anyone likes the game or not. It's the fact that if this were to happen then what does everyone have to grasp on to for X1 anymore other then new entries in dead franchises?
I think something similar to how Ninja Gaiden Sigma got past their exclusivity deal will be in place. So they will just modify the titles name and rerelease it on a new console with some differences.
@Hercules189
A LOT of games let you see your choices nowadays. A lot of these games don't have that great of stories either and use this feature to drive hype like it's a new thing.
Why are you so biased? There are a ton of XBox fans on here. Once you start speaking logically and stop responding by insulting others, force-feeding your opinions by telling people why this is better than that, and passing off your assumptions as facts than you might not ...
I think good looking but definitely not close to the top.
Anna is ugly in my opinion. Jodie is alright. Eliza isn't really my style but has a good face. Not a good list in my opinion.
Definitely prefer 1866's art direction. Also, Quantum Break seems like a thriller sensationalist game of just doing a bunch of things. Alan Wake wasn't exactly that great story wise it was just exaggerated quality due to being 360's story-based 1st party title. I don't care for the companies past games when it comes to story. I also have a hate for a lot of things that try and reinvent the concept of "time" and seeing Quantum Break's unrealistic representation ad...
But here is an example. If this game is more like Demons Souls than Dark Souls like how in Demons Souls the worlds have the stones to enter them then you could have some worlds unlocked but pay to unlock the others, which isn't unreasonable. But if you have a pay to win type of system to get better equipment and stats then just no.
@MorePowerOfGreen
Flash is nothing more then storage in this case. OS, video replays, or standby features. It isn't going to enhance any of your gameplay.
GDDR5 runs much cooler at faster speeds with far less power consumption. This is one of the main reasons it was decided for PS4 is because it is a win/win situation for the product produced.
Please don't argue about past rumors as if they were set in stone facts. The most precise r...
Sorry but that doesn't represent the final product. We have already seen some X1 games change from what they initially showed us at e3 and other conventions.
Seeing how Yakuza was successful in the U.S. before and they have a chance to get a bigger fanbase by releasing as one of the early titles for PS4 I'm sure they will make an English.
I did google it and it's nowhere to be found. I googled it before my response.
@JohnnyBadfinger
Master Chief's suit nano-machines are for suit repairs and vital recovery only. The thrusters in his suit were made from nothing.
After the importance placed on Master Chief being so unique we then see Spartan-IV's at the end of Halo 4, and a lot of them, suddenly showing up after the events of Halo 3 when they knew for sure they needed them then but lucky timing for that universe that in our physical world that a company wanted a tri...
