NPD is North American numbers only. The price cut was in Europe. No one was saying there was a shortage of units in Europe.

Even if there is a NA price cut coming, the point is that we're in MARCH now, so the JANUARY shortage - whatever there was of one - is over.

I think the big problem was that they produced too many of the Arcade SKU because they vastly overestimated how much people would want it.

I mean, I also find it hard to believe a vast, multi-billion company like Microsoft would release a console with an atrociously high failure rate, but they did.

A company is only as smart as its upper management. And typically, upper management has little to no idea how the video game market really works. Especially in non-g...

I was under the impression that various people around the intrawebs had been complaining about being unable to find 360's in January (before the NPD numbers or an announcement of shortages) other than the Arcade SKU, but I could be wrong.

As much as people mock the 360's supposed supply problems and claim they never existed, consider this - the supply problems were gradual. It's not like, *poof*, suddenly there weren't enough 360's.

Last summer Microsoft stopped manufacturing the older, super-unreliable 360's and started manufacturing the newer, somewhat more reliable 360's - when the Premiums started having HDMI ports and supposedly the motherboard had 2 heatsinks.

This was a bit before Halo 3 c...

Not the most scientific poll, but still interesting/depressing results.

Probably a bit bias, since people tend to be more likely to vote if their console broke than if it didn't, but even so, that means the result is probably more realistically 40-50%.

I always said that even 33% sounded too low to me.

What's bad is that this is actually a duplicate of a story that's almost a month old:

Everyone who approved this article should be ashamed of themselves for not doing a tiny bit of research.

Why did this duplicate article get approved? This is almost a month old. Everyone who approved this post should be ashamed for not even doing a little bit of research.

In fact, 2 weeks ago, there was discussion as to why this survey was crap:

Yay, it's like an advanced preview of all the PS3 vs. 360 graphical comparison videos of GTA4 we're certain to get swarmed with at the end of April/beginning of May.

It's going to be awful.

I thought this movie was long-since called. Will people even remember the franchise by the time it's out?

I never thought it was a particularly good idea to take a game whose purpose was to glorify action/noir movies with an over-the-top homage and turn it into a movie, but maybe it's just me.

Nude pictures on XBox Live?!

Oh...my...god...

...clearly I'm friends with the wrong people, cuz I'm not getting ANY of those.

This article makes me embarassed to use XBox Live.

Actually, it makes me embarassed to be on the internet at ALL.

Ah, I see. I read your message wrong. Sorry about that.

I ordered a new PC with Vista in January.

It wasn't awful. I liked a few of the new features. But I couldn't really understand where 5 years and billions of dollars had gone.

I guess it says a lot that I'm running XP right now.

I could care less if you liked Spider-man 3 or not.

Claiming the PS3 has no games has been a weak argument since the middle of 2007, and that's why your lame attempt at humor belonged in the Open Zone.

I hate to bring up the PS2 DRE issue, but since it killed my PS2, I guess I figure I'm allowed.

When I think of Sony support, I remember how people had to file a class action lawsuit before Sony recognized and agreed to fix the PS2's that had encountered the issue.

"Ruin" games, no?

Are annoying and unnecessary? Yes.

It sort of screws over your customer if they buy a game a couple years after it comes out and they find they can't get half the achievements because no one is playing it online anymore.

The point is, if it's over, then NewEgg should've removed the picture of the PS3 Box that DOES include Spider-man 3 from their site. Otherwise, they aren't selling what they claim to be selling.

See that little tab over to the right that says "Open Zone"?

That's where crappy posts like yours go to die.

Interesting. I know Sony isn't usually known for the greatest customer service, but props to them for this.

The article fails because it doesn't mention the Witcher.

You want to see meaningful decisions affecting the storyline of the game, sometimes 10 or 20 hours AFTER you make the decision? Play the Witcher.
